Lakers Draft Cameron Carr with #24 Pick

Lakers Forum » Lakers News

Lakers traded their #25 pick + cash to the Knicks and drafted the uber athletic and long Cameron Carr from Baylor.

Carr averaged 19, 6 and 2.5 assists, shot 37% from deep, 50% FG and 80% FT. Apparently he's ~6'5" barefoot with a near 7 foot-1 wingspan and a 42.5-inch max vertical leap. Sounds like a great pick.

I came here to post a video of Carr. It was 20 minutes long because there are so many highlights.

He seems to be a very good all round player. Unaffected too. When they called his name at the draft, he stood up with no smile at all. Perhaps he thought he would go higher in the draft and was disappointed?

Exceptional outside shot, a great vertical (easily dunks from a flatfoot position) and gets a lot of blocks for a guard likely due to afore stated great vertical. Smile I think the Lakers made a very good pick.

Now, centers. Rumor has it that Ayton will not start next season and might not be on the roster at all.

The list of names are players who are free agents but not necessarily available.

Vando and Knecht apparently have little value throughout the NBA.

Just a thought, I'm a huge fan of Austin, but what if the Celtics offer Jaylen Brown for Austin? Do you do it?

Speaking of random trades, the Lakers ought to have grabbed Julius Randle...and tell Bron to crap or get off the pot.

I’d love Kessler, but I don’t know how we would pull that off. I’ve also read some rumors on LeBron for Jarret Allen via sign and trade.

And what’s up with this signing?? Robbie Avila 10 day contract. Talk about conditioning problems…

I noticed LOL..

He looks like Clarkbar Kent at 13 years old...

Lakers let people go and then bring people in the following years with half the talent. Thomas Bryant comes to mind. Wenyan Gabriel comes to mind. Heck, 42 year old Howard would be better than these options.

I watched another video of Carr, how did he slip to 24? I'm seeing no weakness in his game on both ends of the floor. This is a top 10 player unless I'm missing something...

Our off season so far has been crazy slow. All these 10-day or two-way contracts that mean nothing. D. Ayton is planning on exercising his player option, so I think we are stuck with him, which is unfortunate. Most of the bigs we are looking at are seeming unattainable. I hate to say it, but we may end up with a worse team than last year because of some of the guys we may lose (E.G. Marcus Smart and Rui). What is our front office doing? We have very limited time with Luka and I feel they are just throwing it away.
