This is really bad news for the lakers and feel bad for DMC. He was in the best shape of his life and was supposed to be the X factor on the team. Problem with Achilles injuries is that other areas of the body over compensate and you are like a ticking time bomb for future injuries. Hope he doesn’t miss too many games.

Need to take a look at Howard and Bynum as others have suggested.

It is tough to read about Cousins and how it will effect the Laker season. Lakers still have other players that can play the five. We still have McGee and I am sure they will find someone else.

The Lakers are still number four favored to win the title. 76ers favored number one.

Sadly DMC is done. Achilles, Quad, Knee. He'll be a shadow of his old self after all that, and not until next season, when the next injury takes him out. Always a risk with big men. Same here with Faried. Not really keen on Howard coming back, honestly would like to see Marquesse Chriss get a shot, but can the Lakers going for experience. With a majority of our picks gone, seeing if Chriss can develop with us would not be a bad idea, considering we have Phil Handy and Jason Kidd who can develop the kid into something better.

I wouldn't. But after this, big money payouts for him are difficult. 3 major leg injuries within 2 years and he will be thirty soon? If he comes back strong, I imagine the Lakers will have first shot at him, but if he does leave, I won't be pissed at the dude. After all this and he still comes back from it, then he deserves a decent payday and some stability after all these injuries.

Faried played real good this last season. He would be my choice over Howard. Howard has never really impressed me. Not sure about this Shala Mejri, never seen him play. But if he is 7'2" and if he is as good as some of you guys mention, then he might be the guy to sign up.

Now as to sign Cousins again after his recovery which takes all of the season, I would be scared to take a chance on him again. Just look at what we are paying him for doing nothing this coming season as a Vegas gambling loss. Feel sorry for Cousins, he was really looking forward to playing with LeBron and Davis.

I think we should just sign him or Howard. Complete the roster with the recent injury of Cousins.

The Lakers have 5 starting caliber point guards. Count 'em 5, and perhaps 2 shootings guards in Danny Green and KCP although Green is listed as a SF!

The only reasonable choice given Rondo, Bradley, Caruso, Cook and Daniels, given that all but Rondo can hit the 3 consistently, is to run a 2 PG backcourt.

This is a running, Showtime team with a second team that will not skip a beat. This ought to tell the front office the kind of centers they need.

Faried is unquestionably the best fit. A slow 5 who clogs up the key for Lebron and Davis is gonna bog down the Lakers obvious strengths.

Faried is a double double guy given 20-25 minutes a game and Javale remains a good fit for all of these reasons too.

If the new coach has half a clue, nobody will easily beat this team. Faried will match up against the Clippers Harrell when needed and will start occasionally I predict.

I like Faried, but he's too short to start at the 5. He's shorter than AD. Makes no sense, except for small ball. I don't mind having him on the team, to be sure, but not as a starting 5. And McGee has asthma, and can't play long minutes. Of course they could slide AD in and out of the 4/5 spots along with whoever is on the floor. If it's McGee then AD plays the 4, is Manimal, then 5. But from what we hear Lakers are meeting with centers the next few days, and Faried sin't on the....
