The thing not mentioned is most of these guys are “professionals” and great basketball guys ... minus Boogie and his antics sometimes... these guys are all “pro’s”

Will have a nice locker room full of committed guys , battle tested guys that know what it takes to “win” it all .

They added another pro’s pro in Bradley - another good make

up guy that will know his role

I agree and I think Boogie will also fit in nicely with these guys as well. Obviously AD enjoyed playing with him or he wouldn't have reached out to him. Plus we need somebody who is gonna be that dog who can bring the intensity level. Dudley can do the same thing he has that intensity about him like he was in the playoffs last year for the Nets.

I believe that if Cousins stays healthy, he will really help the Lakers. The Lakers still have around 8 million to spend. They should get a couple of defensive specialists. The Clippers have lots of players that are good shooters from long distance. Starting with the former Laker Williams, PG13 and Kawhi. The edge on defense goes to the Clippers with Beverly. If he plays like he did against Durant through the whole season, he will be tough on our guards.

This is definitely true. But I do feel like our major advantage will be out interior play... trying to stop LBJ and AD will be a very hard task for any team in our league and if boogie can also get back to full playing weight then I see that as being our major advantage against any team especially the clippers.

Interesting news today was that Kawhi only signed a 3 year deal with the clippers with a option on the 3rd year... Doesn't look too confident... Hahahaha

Think it's more about him being able to opt out and have 10 yrs in league to get that monster contract.

Yeah but can they resign him and PG both... PG contract would go up to like 250 mil I believe they said... they will both be FA and have the same opt out...

....

100% agreed. I'm actually very confident with how the Lakers roster matches up against the Clippers roster (or any other NBA team for that matter). Lakers have a dominant interior bolstered with numerous ace marksman from 3-point range, and a world class playmaker in Lebron to glue it all together. This is the most sensible, experienced, skilled, talented, and cohesive roster (on paper) that the Lakers have assembled in many years. Even the most persistent Laker critics (fans and haters alike) are impressed at this point, or at the very least intrigued.

The big disclaimer is questionable health (or more specifically questionable ability to stay healthy for a full season + playoffs) of some of the key players on the roster, but of all the teams in the league, the Lakers have the highest ceiling at this point.

We have to deal with a good amount of big men in the West. With our size depth now. We can hang with any of these teams .

Jokic

Towns

Gobert

Ayton

Capela

And if we make it to the Finals , might have to match up vs these bigs.

Embiid

Horford

Lopez

Our length on the back end of the defense is going to be huge for us this season. So many match up options vs different opponents

That article did come across as very annoying from a laker fan’s perspective. However the defensive concerns are legit. This team has been essentially cobbled together around 28 yr olds and vets in their 30’s. We don’t have any young legs. Lonzo, Hart and especially BI were quite a huge factor on that end of the floor. Older teams often find themselves struggling on d. Another critical ingredient is continuity/ chemistry(and subsequently trust) and this is where the clips have a slight edge. We on the other hand, have lots of new teammates. Hope I’m wrong and it’s still premature to predict how this all plays out, but id be lying if I said that I’m not slightly concerned.

But vets do the little things to win games though , things that take the young players years to figure out.

Knowing other players tendencies , knowing other teams systems and what they like to do , knowing when to go over or under a screens , knowing when to switch. I think our defense will be more stable and less chaotic/ scrabbling around trying to find your man .

I notice that Tyson Chandler is still in the roster. Last season I was very disappointed towards the end of the season with his performance. He has no legs anymore. I think that the Lakers should break in a new young center. I have read quit a bit about this Devontae Cacok and that he is pretty good player. Maybe now is the time to bring him in as the third option behind McGee and Cousins and let Tyson be traded for a draft pick or something.

He's not on the team. It's not an updated site.

Lakers got a new-look Cousins, Avery Bradley and Green and retained KCP and Caruso makes 1,2 and 5 positions solid plus Kyle on 3 and 4 and superstars LBJ at 3 and Davies at 4, makes this Lakers the team to beat. No wonder Pelinka says "championship or bust".

Other than a spate of semi minor injuries over a cple seasons. Knee soreness, shin contusion, wrist soreness, and most importantly a pulled groin (those take a long time to heal, I know I had one once). What else has beset the guy? He says he's 100% now. Fully recovered from the groin. And by now the other nags should be fine. Anything else? If nothing major I'm expecting him (still a cple months to go to recover even more before camp) to be his old self.

Let's hope all our guys come in healthy. If he is, and Boogie is, watch out NBA.

PS: now I'm reading about more injuries. Shoulder (surgery), achilles, collar bone, more ankle stuff. Let's hope that's all behind him.

Do any of you folks know of a good substitute for watching Laker games. The last two seasons, I was using Reddit, but from what I've heard, they will no long have streams available. I've debated purchasing a league pass, but I live in California and I've heard stories about local games being blacked out.

Unless you get an out-of-town friend to buy the League Pass, it sucks. Can't get local games. BUT...

Edited out as you should have gotten the info already.

Depending on the device you are using to watch league pass on, you might be able to use a VPN and choose an out of state VPN host. Most VPN’s such as Express VPN allow you to choose a host and it’s location. If you are using a computer or smart TV to watch the games and your vpn client is installed on that device as well as the NBA TV ap, , it will appear as though you are out of the state.

Thanks for the advice folks. I am desperately trying to avoid purchasing a cable package to watch one channel. I have Hulu live but it does not include the Lakers channel.

The Reddit streams moved to nbabite I'd get a VPN to avoid problems down the line

What about having my friend in Seattle buy NBA League Pass for me. Can I then watch the Lakers games here?

Not sure but I think league pass can detect your curret location from your ISP so the VPN may still be necessary depending on how you are watchiing it. Call the league pass provider and ask them. Tell them you are moving to Seattle and want to buy the pass and ask them what will happen if you visit family members in So Cal.

Good idea. This local blackout really sucks BTW.

Not sure if they have one for the Lakers, but this is how I watch all the Dodgers games. It's awesome! Since they are also not carried locally, in fact hardly any games, if you have DirecTV. Sucks.

PS: Just had a look and they do stream NBA games. This might be your answer...for online viewing anyways...
