Welcome Demarcus cousins on 1 year deal!

Love this move need another shooter too

I think that will come on the buyout market. Korver and JR possibly. And I’m still holding out hope that Iggy can be bought out as well. He’s not a shooter but would be an amazing bet leader. I still am not counting out the possibility of Melo getting signed as well.

You know where I stand with this. Welcome to the Lakers DeMarcus!

Are you starting to feel a little bit better about our plan B now Angeluus?? Lol

I think we have enough shooters. We need a defensive stopper. Go get Rondae Hollis Jefferson. Hopefully Iggy gets bought out at some point and can be added. Also, need ball handlers. Sign Rondo and Caruso to vet minimum deals.

Isn't this a FA signing? Shouldn't it be listed under the FA thread, rather than starting a whole new one just for this? Focus pple. Focus!

Good signing. Now Demarcus can try to prove that he can still play

AND we can go over the CAP next season to give him a bigger contract, if he does stay healthy. We'd have his Bird rights. And you can go over the CAP to resign players, right?

I am not 100% but I believe you don’t get bird rights on a 1 year deal. At least not full bird rights. You can sign them for slightly higher the next year but you wouldn’t be able to have a small cap hold and then sign him for a lot more.

Totally. I'm stoked on the productivity for the day.

Boogie has never been a high riser but I need this guy to come in at supreme shape. Diet, whatever....he can be the difference.

The only edge that I give the Clippers is Beverly. He was a pitbull in the playoffs against the Warriors. Then the rest of both teams they off set each other. Clippers will have an edge in some positions and the Lakers will dominate in others. Zubac in my opinion will be eaten alive by Boogie and McGee. Shooter pretty much even with Williams of the Clippers and PG13 doing most of the three point shooting, while the Lakers will have Green, KCP and Cook.

The super stars will of set each other: LeBron vs Kawhi and AD vs PG13. It will definitely be an interesting season with two California teams that play in the same building going against each other for the title.

The Warriors will be no challenge next season, and the Rockets will still be the same, all Harden show.

I agree with most of that. All but McGee eating Zubac alive, lol! McGee ain’t eating anybody alive. Pretty sure Zubac starts to show progress this year too. West gave him an extension. Must believe in him as many of us did.

Lebron can have him come by the house and get on his 2m dollar a year fitness plan. Lmao

Lol....I know right.

That’s basically his entire salary for the year lol

Hmmmm...that kinda sucks. SO if he does well he can bolt next offseason unless we can offer him a lot more to stay. Which we won't be able to? Although I guess we can lose some 1 year guys and make it up?

Correct, I haven’t seen everybody’s salary’s all figured up yet so don’t know yet what all we have locked up for next year but I’m pretty sure we will have some spending power next year but won’t be much.

This is the signing I’m most excited about. If you look at Boogie’s. Per 36 last year compared to years before most stats categories are very similar to past years. Also last year was his 2nd highest FG%. And while he may have not been 100%, he was healthy enough to got out there in the finals.

Now he has 3 more months to get ready, and it won’t be like in GSW were he just took a year off. I think he will be a 20/10/4 guy for us this year, playing 30mins a game.

Boogie is the big difference in this team. Projected to be 60-70% of his old self will already bring havoc in the center position. This will at least lessen the impact of the superstar bigs of the league like Embid, Giannis, etc to control the center. With his experience manning the 5 position and with wide body plus the fact that he can shoot, this will bring a lot of intimidation on the opponents and create a lot spaces for his superstars teammate to shoot. It is really a blessing in disguise the Lakers did not get this dirty Kawhi making the team a very well-balanced one from 1-5 position.

Dirty Kawhi, I like it lol. New moniker, DKL.

Wasn't his first game for Golden State in January? I think you are right, he is going to be a beast this year with a lot of prove.

Let's hope so. If so, watch out NBA! He and AD also have something to prove together, since their mating didn't result in much in NO. If he stays healthy, he can only get better.

I noticed on the foot notes this morning while watching the end of Steven A , that Kawhi has not signed a contract yet with the Clippers. Wouldn't that be something if he has changed his mind and goes back to Toronto.

Hahaha...personally I'd love that. But doubtful.

Cousins and AD say they have unfinished business from the last time they played together. And that each makes the other better.

I'm liking the enthusiasm! Imagine it, then add in LBJ, and the rest...happy days are here again...

Yep! I think the Lakers are going to be a force. I like what Perlinka has done in such a short time span. I am hoping that Morris does not sign with the Spurs and comes to the Lakers. That would put the icing on the cake.

Magic Johnson gets away from decision making and things start happening.. hmmmm "

If those 3 can stay healthy...man I am drooling thinking about the possibilities! I’m so excited for this season. I have been watching the past 6 years and not missing a game but didn’t have excitement because deep down I knew we didn’t have any shot. Now there is a real chance and I am excited to get back to winning lakers basketball!

Magic said that he was instrumental in Kawhi decision to join the Lakers

Just read that Bradley had signed a two year contract with the Lakers. Just looked at the roster for 2019-2020 and was surprised at some of the names. A lot of these players will end up in the G league. I think they will probably carry a twelve player roster.

Who are you referring to, the lakers? We have a solid deep team this year and haven't really signed any guys who belong in the G league. The only one who could be looked at that way is maybe Troy Daniels but even he is a 3 point specialist which will always have a spot in the NBA. Unless you are talking about Devontae Cacok, Aric Holman and Zach Norvell who are competing for our two way contract spots which in that case they will be G league players unless we call them up.

Yes, those players you mentioned will....

Did anyone see Boogie’s interview on Access Sportsnet? He looked thinner and in the best shape I have seen him in !!! 🙏🏻🤞🏻
