Lakers at Portland Trail Blazers Game Day 2025-02-20

Lakers Forum » Lakers Game Day

Please post your predictions for the game coming up versus the Portland Trail Blazers. What are the Lakers keys to bounce back and get a W? Which Blazers player should Purple and Gold be wary of? Will the game be a shootout or more slow paced? Will Luka break out of his mini shooting slump?

I hope the Lakers play better tonight then they have in the last two games., The Lakers should have won both, but the turn overs by LeBron and Luca have done lots of damage. Lakers need to give Len lots of playing time so that he can get into the Laker system. He needs to spend more time close to the rim to protect the rebounding, blocking shots and just protecting the painted area where every player driving will be met by a big defender.

we need a center

Lakers up by eight at the half. But at one time they were up by around eighteen points, so I do not know if it is fatigue because of a back to back, but the Blazers are closing in on the lead the Lakers had.

So it could go either way. Vincent has missed a lot of his three point attempts tonight. He needs to get back on the groove he was in before. JJ needs to play Shake Milton more. Needs to give Reaves some rest, he has played lot of minutes already.

Jaxson Hayes pretty good, but maybe Alex Len could get some minutes tonight also. Jemison gave some good minutes to help in the center position, but he is only 6'10".

JJ should also watch the minutes LeBron is playing and should use Morris to relieve him for some rest,.

C'mon guys hold the line!!!!

Gabe with the middy.

Defense dammit!!!!

That was big- Hayes the offensive rebound, swings it to Finney-Smith for the corner triple

DFS for 3!!!

Good hustle Hayes!!!

Shoot that DFS.

AR the banker high off the glass!

Lebron from deep, splash!

Reaves high off the glass.

LBJ, again!

James for 3!!!!

Bron with the middy fade away.

King James on fire! Lol that's a fancy dribble move by Henderson.

Luka's not at full power and effectiveness, but I'm missing AD right about now...

Are the Laker's better?

Clearly Luka marginalizes Austin as this game proves...

Reaves for 3!!!

HUGE charge drawn by Reaves!

Now AR just rips it from Henderson- jump ball!

Close this shyt out!!!!!

Dalton has zero points tonight?

Nice win without Luka. Lebron & AR were tremendous- Blazers had no answer for them. Finney-Smith was very good as well.

Highlights:

Lakers won because of two players who played hard and that was Reaves and LeBron. Other then that Rui did not help much and even Smith I expected him to do much more scoring.

Lakers needed the win.

If they ever want Dalton to score big, LeBron and Reaves have to include him in the offense. I think the young man has lost his confidence because of those two players that I just mentioned. They are both good players, but they should include others on making shots, that is the only way players will get confidence. The coach has to address this with LeBron since he wants the ball all the time. I realize he wants to break all NBA records, but in order to make a winning team you have to have team chemistry on offense as well as defense. We have on the Lakers right now players who can score if just given the green light to shoot when wide open. But you can see LeBron wants to be the main man, and he should also be able to accept that by the second half, he looks like an old player turning the ball over, Players stealing the ball away from him etc etc.

I also read where LeBron has had a few words with Luka. You can not push a player who has being out since Christmas with a calf injury too hard. Got to bring him into playing condition slowly. Luka is out of playing shape and needs to get back on track. Pushing him too hard will only reinjure Luka. LeBron should know better. Maybe he is upset that Bronny was told to stay in the G League, yet he is still hanging around as an NBA player. He is not ready for the NBA.

I have always like AD, but he has had a problem with groin injuries before. Right now neither player is playing good, both are injured. You could see in the Hornets game Luka winced a few times like he was in pain. Then he takes the day off during the Blazer game which was good if he still has calf pain. Some injuries take longer on some athletes because they are out of shape. What I have read that was the biggest complain in Dallas with their super star and that is why they traded him to the Lakers. It is up to Vanessa Brooks and Erin Sierer athletic trainers for the Lakers to get this men in playing condition.
