Kyrie Irving This Summer[*]

So if you asked me a week ago I thought the chance of Lakers going after Kyrie was 0%. Even if we didn't win the Chip it seemed like this team would be even better next year with a full year under our belt. But whether we lose 0-4 or 1-4, I just don't imagine DLO being our 2nd guy. LeBron is gone after next year to go play with his "Lottery pick" son Bronny. and most likely we will just lose LeBron salary for nothing, since he will sign cheap to play with his kid where ever. So for example lets say this summer we keep the exact team we have right now. (Core guys, Lebron, AD, DLO, Rui, Vander, Beasley, Schroeder, Reaves, Bamba). In 2024 when Lebron leaves to go play with his son, then this is the exact team that we still have (minus LeBron). We are not winning anything with expectation for AD being a healthy #1 and DLO being our #2 guy. The main way we get Irving this summer, is a sign and trade with Dallas. As we all know money isn't a huge deal for Irving, so I don't think he will demand 46mil, if it means he can play in LA, I bet he would take like 35mil to play for the Lakers. Reaves: Some team will offer him at least 80mil/4years. However for us to match it only hits our cap books for 11.4mil next year, it would be a back end loaded contract. Hard Cap number is $170,461,000, for no reason can we go over that number if we do a Sign and Trade. If Irving took 35mil in a S&T. This is what our rooster could look like. James 46,698,737 AD 40,600,080 Reaves....

I know we don’t believe in rebuilding, so I would rather pursue a younger (and hungrier) superstar like Giannis or even someone like Dame who badly needs a change of scenery and would thrive in a winning culture/environment.

I say NO to Kyrie because of all the problems he has brought with him on all the teams he has been with. Not only that but LeBron will probably be retiring I hope or traded away to where ever Bronny goes.

Kyrie is a very talented player but a lot of baggage.

I am sure there are other talented players out there we can trade for if that is the way the Lakers want to go.

I hate to say this, but I’m about 95% positive this is happening. They are still in “appease Lebron at all costs” mode. He wants Irving here so they will make it so. If they sign him and we lose Austin, that will piss me off.

After the way he’s performed this year (especially the playoffs), I would be really surprised if any team in the league would want to appease him. He needs to join his bud Melo in retirement. Go out on a relatively high note, cause he is gonna get incrementally worse next season.

Lebron talking retirement. If that is the case, we should seriously consider blowing it up and starting anew. I also think that if he does retire, he will "come out" of retirement to play with his boy, which is total ********.

I think the best course of action is to resign our entire team this summer.

• Match any offer given to Reaves (Probably like 20mil a year)

• Match any offer given to Rui (Probably like 20mil a year)

• Give Beasley his 16mil team offer.

• Keep Bamba for 10mil he is under contract for

• Keep Vanderbilt for the 5mil that he is under contract for.

• Give Schrdoer MLE

• DLO is tricky, I feel like he could get a huge offer from another team. Even though he sucked this series, overall he was a great player for us this year. He is young and has the skill set for the current NBA.

Now with all that being said I am 100% for trading for Irving, ***ONLY if we are able to keep LeBron / AD / Reaves and Rui. If Getting Irving means we lose any of those 4 guys, I am against it.

So now you ask how is that possible? If Irving signs a huge deal with Mavs?

Lets say Irving signs a 4year 160mil with Mavs. Sign and Trade is not an option, because we could not bring back Reaves and Rui. However we could still trade him at the trade deadline of next year. There is no hard cap restriction when you do an in season trade.

So in-season we could do a trade like this:

Mavs get: DLO / Beasley

Lakers get: Irving

Our lineup going into playoffs next year:

Irving

Reaves

Vander

LeBron

AD

Bench:

Bamba

Schroeder

Rui

I am all for Irving being our 3rd star, LeBron has shown he can keep Irving in check and on course and he wants to be here.

This is my dream scenario and its not that crazy. Mavs have to give Irving a deal, they can't let him walk with what they gave up for him. Which means there season will suck to begin with just like it did when it ended. They will want to get off of Irving and the Mavs could use both DLO and Beasley.

I like what Ray would like to see on a Laker roster for next season, that is the core that is which is eight. Usually the Lakers will have around fourteen on a roster.

Lot of rumors though about LeBron hinting that he is considering retiring and Cowherd believes that AD would want out from the Lakers probably to Dallas.

So I do not think LeBron or Davis really want out, they are just licking their wounds after the whipping they got from the Nuggets. I think the LeBron desire to retire is a good move. I was reading about his last injury report and the specialists that worked on it says it is a real bad injury and could really hurt LeBron for years ahead and he thinks LeBron should retire.

The Lakers could probably get Kyrie from the Mavericks on a trade for DA and Beasley. Kyrie and AD could work out as a one two punch combination between those two. Then the Lakers should retain most of the rest of the team that we have now, they should be better next season. Keep as many young players as possible. Fill in the blanks on free agents and we should be set for next season.

Call Pat Riley and see if he's interested in bringing Lebron back. See if you can get a Rudy Gorbert type deal for Davis. Reset and start fresh.

Beverly also brought camera to show to this eric refree that tatum fouled lebron, but got tech. A lot of people blamed him for that obvious missed call. Apparently, he made fake twitter accounts to defend his call, but got caught by people so now nba is investigating lol

Now this on All about Lakers this Andy Baily of Bleacher report suggests that the Lakers should trade DA to the Sun for the OLD man Chris Paul. Now this Andy must be a Sun fan or he is not very smart suggesting the Lakers get a player who has had long history of ham string muscle problems and not only that. CP is at the end of his career. It would be the dumbest trade the Lakers could make.

Just read where the Lakers traded Mo Bamba today for Reggie Bullock who used to be a laker before and was really not that good with the lakers, now we traded a potential seven footer which the Lakers did not even give him a chance to play and find out whether he was worth keeping or not. Lakers need a big man for next season, not another guard and the thing is here we go again with old players. Reggie is already 32 years old. Seems like Pelinka could do better then that.

I wonder how many more he is going to trade away. Hope he can sign Reaves, Rui, Vanderbilt. But Pelinka should go after a big center. I read where he might try and get Brook Lopez back, again another over the hill guy at 35 years old.

I am starting to lose faith on this general managers the lakers hire. The are listening too much for advice from their star players like LeBron. I know that LeBron did not like DA, so we know he will not be a laker much longer, only problem is that LeBron wants Kyrie and Cuban told the lakers already to forget a trade for Kyrie for DA. Instead of focusing on Jurassic porks like Kyrie, they need to grab Bob Myers. The dude has credibility throughout the league/ with rival GMs and has built up some legit gravitas with players. Pelinka did an admirable job during the trade deadline and one must never forget, he was the chief architect of the 2020 title. But for the long term I feel Bob Myers is the guy for this gig. He is the type who will not take any bs from anyone and would be a great brand ambassador for the lakers brand.

This is just Kyrie's camp making sure the Lakers know he's not coming over for less money. He wants his money and the only way he gets it, is to sign with the Mavs.

If he is not willing to take around 30mil, then the Lakers will not S&T for him, because if we do anything over 35mil in S&T then we can't resign Rui or Reaves.

However come trade deadline next year, Kyrie is 100% on the table for us.

Lakers would make a real bad decision going all out for Kyrie. Reminds me of when they went all out for Westbrook and it was a nightmare watching Westbrook taking a shot.

Lets just keep most of the players we had, maybe make some small adjustments and work with these younger players. Lets give DA a chance to prove himself as a quality point guard. He is still young and is just maturing as a mature point guard. He did play real good during the regular season. But we all know that LeBron was giving him a hard time in the play offs and a younger player under the stress of being yelled by LeBron probably did not set too well. But he was not the only one who did not perform well in the playoffs comparing to the regular season. Another that I noticed was Vanderbilt, Beasley, Brown and I even thought there for awhile that Rui was not shooting as good as he was in the regular season. But we should all understand that any player who has never played in playoff games, it would be a lot of stress.

I do not like LeBron going around telling everybody he is thinking retirement. We all know he is not going to retire. He just wants to put pressure on the Lakers to trade for Kyrie and that is wrong.

Kyrie is a very good player, but a player you really can not depend on. He will play only about half of the season and the rest he is off for one thing or another. Do we really want a player like that?

But the biggest mistake the Lakers are about to make is to trade a young point guard Russell for another point guard CP3 who is old enough that he should retire. Why do the Lakers always make such dumb decisions. Russell played good trough the regular season, not so good under the pressure of the playoffs, but the Lakers are just making excuses to get rid of the kid because LeBron don't like him. That to me is pure BS and LeBron should be the one to go. We need young players, not players that are over the hill and act like Primadona's

The thing is this reminds me of the Nash trade. He comes to the Lakers knowing that he had injury problems. The same thing with CP3. He has a history of ham string problems just about every season. If he comes to the Lakers as Laker nation is reporting, he is just coming to collect his money while just seating on the bench, because that is exactly what Nash done and also Cousins was another that was just a bench warmer with the Lakers. Seems like the Lakers would have learned by now.

CP3 will not be coming over to the Lakers in some kind of S&T from the Suns. Suns are not going to hard cap themselves and pay DLO 30mil+. If CP3 comes over, it will be his choice ot do so if the Suns waive him. Lakers can give him Vet min or MLE. Which I would gladly give CP3 either of those to join LeBron.

June 28th is the deadline for the Suns to make a decision on what to do with CP3.
