Did we sign him? I'm seeing conflicting stories now.

He agreed to a 2 year deal for the vet minimum. I just don't think they've inked it yet. Probably waiting until after the fill the slots from waivers.

I hope they don't back out. His leadership is a huge plus. I'd prefer to have him on the team.

I agree. I don't think they are backing out. I'm no expert on cap related stuff but they may be delaying his signing for cap space purposes in order to use up cap space so they can go over cap with the vet minimum or exceptions?.

If that option is available, that's what they should do. Since he was with us last year, we can go over the cap to resign him. Good move. Should be the same with KCP in that case, and McGee. Right?

That is my thinking as well. I think they already inked KCP and McGee though.

You are correct slief. They first have to sign everybody that is being used with cap space then you are able to sign your exceptions such as Mid level, room exception and vet minimum exceptions. So we signed all of our salary cap guys right before the trade for AD and now we will be signing the rest of them.

That's good news. Even if he is a backup PG for LBJ, his leadership is a great asset.

Why would they do that? If they could have waited and resigned them without affecting their CAP space?

The only way we could have signed them and gone over the cap is if we had them on cap holds which we didn’t because they only had one year deals the year before. Now that they signed 2 year deals we could potentially have cap holds on them for close to their salaries they signed for and then sign for more and go over the cap.

Freaking complicated, man!
