Smaller Avatars for Shorter Posts and Mobile Enhancements

Lakers Forum » Lakers Topbuzz Announcements

Hey guys- to decrease the amount of vertical scrolling, the system will automatically use a smaller (1/2 size) version of your avatar for posts that are not very lengthy. This will decrease the amount of vertical empty spaces currently for those posts. Just want to give guys a heads up if you thought maybe there was something wrong w/ the size of your avatars.

Also I've added some enhancements to help reading the threads easier. If you are on a mobile device like a smaller-screen smartphone, the avatars will be on the right side instead, and they will all show the smaller avatars. The fonts will also be larger in general.

Let me know if you have any questions or feedback- thanks guys!

Nice Dave. I approve. thumbright

Nice! I can still see my BIG avatar clear Smile

^^Yeah at half size smaller they are still pretty darn big, lol.

I would still love to see a regular size version of rdg0917's avatar

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I have that menu thing that's on the top right of my screen which is pretty annoying. Lol

^^Kerwin- that's on a smartphone? If so what's the OS and what is the browser you are using?

Yes, I have the iPhone5 and I'm using safari. Can I fix it?

The changes, I approve of them.

How about now?

I concur.

Dave, the sign is still on the top right, but it's a "+" sign. But whenever I zoom or scroll up and down it shows the whole menu.

Is the + sign following you as you scroll down? If not, then I think Safari is using the cached version of the file that controls that menu. It's weird but when I set it so that the plus-sign menu doesn't follow the scrolling, it will expand in iOS Safari by itself at the top as you described, so I changed it so that it scrolls along as you go down the page. It worked fine when I tested it on the iPad using Dolphin browser for Safari, which works similarly as Safari on an iPhone supposedly.

Can you try clearing the cache in Safari or try refreshing tomorrow and see if it's fine. Thanks Kerwin!

It's still following when I scroll down. Lol

^^Yeah it's suppose to, but it shouldn't expand by itself.

Dave, I've been away for 10 days or so, but I'm enjoying the tweaks you've put in.

^^Good to see you back Dan!
