New Auto-Rep Feature
Lakers Forum » Lakers Topbuzz AnnouncementsThat's a great idea, Dave! I like it.
And if the thread has like -10 or more thumbs down too, can it be automatically deleted since it's not doing any good to LTB??
LOL, come to think of it, this is a genius idea lemoi24. I think something of this sort also needs to be inserted into the forum rules, that way the worthless threads that people create can go away for good.

That just got me thinking BiggestLakersFan because the fact that it has lots of thumbs down obviously means people don't like it, so it has to go.

Pot, meet kettle.
I like this, but how many people really like things with their facebook/tweet/or google+? I'm just wondering. Because me personally, I'm just on twitter to read up on some NBA tweets. That's really it.

Just because some threads get a a lot of thumbs down doesn't necessarily mean posters don't like them, it could just mean that they disagree with it. And just because people disagree with it doesn't mean it's a bad post. For example, most people on this site don't like Andrew Bynum, so when a pro Bynum thread is made it usually gets a lot of thumbs down. That doesn't mean we should dump these type of threads just because off their hate for Drew. It's like trying to tell us what player we are allowed to like or dislike and talk about on the site.

Yes, most people on this Lakers forum don't like Andrew Bynum, the centre for the Lakers. That makes sense.
This is a Lakers site, i doubt there are fans who truly dislike Bynum since he is part of the Lakers team. The whole (team) is more significant than its parts. Some may question Bynum's immaturity and his commitment to playing consistent basketball but i doubt they "dislike" him per se.
Just about every thread that is pro Bynum gets a lot of negative votes. I'm not making it up.

I've been saying it doesn't make sense for a long time. Just about every pro Bynum thread has a bunch of negative threads. Most folks here don't like the dude. I'm not just making it up, lol. It reflects itself in the voting.

The problem is that you keep comparing him to Kobe or in some way try to convince, god knows who, that this is Bynums team now (good luck with that).
Please stop making this thread about Bynum, thank you.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are people here that don't like Bynum. However, to say most people don't like him? I think that's a bit of a reach. The guy has done nothing but help this team, what reason is there not to like him (other than some unfortunate PR mishaps)? I think the negative thread vote maybe has more to do with what the thread turns into (for instance, if it turns into another Kobe v Bynum thing) than people doing it just because they don't like Bynum. Thing is, unregistered users can neg a thread I believe, so for all we know it could be those unregistered users that are doing it for no other purpose than to just troll lol.

It's weird, I made a thread after Drew got his triple double and asking why he wasn't on the NBA TV post game interview seat like other players are when the play awesome in a playoff game, and it got 0 positive votes and 11 negative votes. No one appears to like Drew enough for him to even have an interview, lol.

Maybe nobody cares about who get interviewed after the game, but you made it such a big deal.

It's definitely weird. I haven't understood the whole Kobe/Drew thing from the beginning. They're both on the same team last time I checked lol. If I'm being totally honest, I think that thread got a negative rating because you're so expressive that you haven't exactly endeared yourself to everyone, and you've developed a bit of animosity with some people here (I'm guessing you know who I'm thinking of lol). Then again, you can't please everyone. Continue to be respectful of other's opinions and things will go smoothly. As tired as I am of the whole Kobe/Drew thing (and trust me, I'm starting to loathe the argument at this point) it's keeping the site active and attracting new members to comment on it so I can't complain too much lol.

Exactly, I sure didn't care who got interviewed, most of the time I'm just celebrating anyway, all I cared about was the WIN.
lakerdude, you went out of your way, to make it seem like Bynum was getting no love.
I guess this is a Bynum thread now. ![]()
It's funny how whenever lakerdude posts in any thread, and i mean in ANY thread, it automatically turns into a Bynum vs Kobe thread. It's getting to a point where i don't even want to visit this site any more. Someone needs to tell lakerdude to back off and take a chill pill instead of turning everything into Bynum vs Kobe. It's like every thread i go to, i see the same dude posting the same damn thing about the same damn issue. Will this ever stop? I put him on ignore, but that seems to be not working since everyone else chimes in on his posts and all of a sudden it's the same old broken record playing again.
back to topic. I like the auto rep feature. it certainly can't hurt
Did your the posts? These threads are about positive and negative votes, and I was referring back to other posters here that were wanting to delete all posts with negative 10 votes, and I replied that threads such as the Bynum threads are the ones that will receive the most negative votes. When your read something do you read just the last couple of posts or do you go back earlier in the thread when it all started? If you read all the posts leading up to this you would see how it got started.
You always seem to want to cause problems. Maybe you should do as you said you wanted yo do and not visit this site anymore and then you won't get so bent out of shape. The one's who started me on this topic were talking about Bynum 1st. Read between the lines dude.

That's cool if you want to shift your focus on something else. Let's just drop it, because I think everybody here want to get back on topic anyway.
Great! Now only if we could prevent people from liking their own comments.

You were the first person who had the word "Bynum" in their post, so how did you not start it?
Anyway, this could be a good idea.
Nothing wrong that with- liking your own thread, rating it positive, etc. Though to get an auto-rep, it'd be extremely difficult to do it on your own without others giving props to the thread.
BTW thanks for the feedback guys. If the 5 total likes/tweets/google +1's is too hard to obtain, I might just lower that requirement eventually because I want to start seeing guys start to get auto-reps.
Love this idea. Thanks Dave.
