Maximum # of Posts/Day

Hi guys- I would like to increase the quality of the posts. I would say that 99% of you make terrific posts, but I need to do something to increase the post quality for the tiny % of members who keep posting the same stuff over and over again. So this is the change I've implemented, and this ONLY applies to you if you have TWO or fewer positive Reputation Votes. Reputation votes are props given to you by other fellow members for a good post. Anyone with TWO or fewer votes will now have a maximum daily post limit of 50.

I hope this helps make the forum a more enjoyable read for everyone- thanks and please let me know ASAP if you run into any problems!

The limit has been lowered to 25.

The threshold is actually 3 NET positives, so you have to take the negative votes against you into consideration.

UPDATE: 1/07/09

Limit is set at 35, and 5 NET positives are required to have no limit.

awesome work dave! im sick of seeing articles reposted three times. it seems like some posters dont look at the forum index to see if an article they are trying to post has been posted already. great work!

That is a great idea, Dave; 50 may even be too much, but at least it will show down the machine-gun posting from the same individuals.

I like it. Thanks Dave for bein in control. It will improve LTB as a whole too. I got 3 so I don't have to worry, but still WE should make good examples to keep the posts qualitative.

good job dave. I think we can tell the difference between guys that are actually thinking about what they are going to write and putting good input into this site, and the guys who are turning this site into a less thought provoking and deep laker fan forum

I like the rule. I don't post a whole lot, but I have noticed as of late the new dudes posting things over, and over again. I would also like to see some of the crazy trade ideas go away! I come to this site to try and catch the latest rumor. Not to have to read the Crap..."If we trade Cook, Walton, Sasha, LO, Bynum, we can get KG and JO...It works on the trade machine." Well, who cares if it works on the trade machine! The point is, it would never happen for real!!!

you look at the person's signature who wrote a post and then you click on the plus sign or negative sign depending on what type of vote you want to give him..
