Rockets-Clippers deal fell apart

Lakers Forum » NBA News and Rumors and Basketball Talk

Before the Rockets sent Rafer Alston to Orlando at the trade deadline, there was a deal on the table that could have sent Clippers guard Baron Davis to Houston for Alston and Ron Artest, according to an NBA source. Originally, the Rockets wanted Clippers center Marcus Camby but Los Angeles declined. The source said the Rockets' loss of Tracy McGrady to a knee injury just before the trade deadline killed the trade conversation with the Clippers.

Hmmm, that deal would have been good for both sides IMO. Clips get cap space back and Rockets get an all star PG.

If the clippers can get be a full health at the start of next season and maybe a dd a good Small Forward or 2 guard they can be a 40 win team.

They will most likely add Blake Griffin, Ty lAWson, James Harden, Demar Derozen from an early pick in the draft. And they can either trade kaman for a player like Gerald Wallace opr keep him and bring instand scoring off the bench with ZBO.

Pg- Baron Davis( 20 7 and 5 when healthy)

Sg- Eric Gordan(15 point scorer for sure)

Sf- Al Thorton( Versitile and can give you 15-18 points and 6 boards)

Pf- Kaman(10 boards and some pretty darn good defense)

C- Camby(We all know what he can provide)

Bench-

ZBO- 20 point scorer

Griffin/lawson/derozen

Not bad. Somebody resurrected a thread that came from March, 2009, more than 5 years ago!
