Start DH12, Hill, Ebanks, Kobe, Nash. Bench is Pau, AJ, MWP, Meeks, Blake. Should distribute the scoring more evenly, and pt as well. Then can use the bench more. With Pau leading them they won't lose leads. No I'm not thrilled starting Ebanks, but there is no other option at that position. Put him in and see what he can do with minutes. If he aint got game then trade his azz and get K-Mart.
Hill a starter? He is a great hustle guy to come off the bench.
Pau and DH12 won't be able to mesh anymore than Pau and AB did. Pau plays better under the basket, he's really a 5. We won 2 chips with him as Center. And we could use a good energy guy amongst the starters. As Hill is our only other choice to start vs Pau, we have to try him out and see what he can do. Not to say he has to play all the minutes. Pau can sub around for both Hill and DH. As announcers are saying these days, the offenses most teams run in the NBA now, including Miami, are not based around a pivot 5. THe 5 spot has become a hybrid position. We need to get with the program and stop playing 70's b-ball...

Ebanks should not be starting. What exactly did he do in the pre-season that some on here were screaming for him to get minutes??
Nothing. Just a thought for mixing up the 1st and 2nd unit. Might as well find out what the guy can do. If not much then add him to the trade block...
The bench doesn't deserve all the blame but theyre the problem to. Ebanks I garbage. He can't stay in front of anybody. How many times did Batum amd westley blow by him last night? I still don't understand what he dd in the pre-season that has people saying he should be starting. Blake is indecisive and it's hurting us more than anything else when he's on the floor. The bench has been outplayed against Dallas n Portland bench lets not disguise that by blaming MB rotations
This makes sense to me
Blake Bryant MWP Hill and Howard to start
Nash Meeks Jamison Pau and Sacre to come off the bench
Lets face it there is to much talent on our starting roster for Brown to handle so why not address our weak bench by splitting up our starting talent to make our bench a strength.
Bryant and Howard are more then talented enough to create their own shots so offense is not a problem for them, but our bench is just a mess nobody can create their own shot so why not have Nash and Pau play with them this way Nash doesnt have to worry about getting the ball to Bryant and Howard and can pass to whoever is open like he used to do in PHX with Meeks and Jamison out their with him they could be his knock down shooters that he looks for when he penetrates while still having at least one player in Pau who can create their own shot if needed.
Or maybe somehow working the rotations so we can get these players to be playing with each other.
I know this isnt even a possibility but I would like to know what you guys/girls think about the idea of splitting up the starters we have now to address our serious bench issue.
That's what I was saying. Split the lineups. With lots of sub options. Why not try it? Fact is Ebanks has never impressed me one bit either. But that's who we have. So sink or swim with the guy, or cut bait.
what do you guys think of going after brandon jennings for gasol?
we have the 2 best defenders of the NBA, the best offense-executer player of the NBA and we cannot play neither good defense nor good offense. Steve Nash has averaged 4.6 assists since the preseason, playing almost the same time he used to play in Phoenix last year where he had 10.sth assists...Zero improvement during the last month, bad rotation choices, players on wrong positions, bad minute allocations, many turnovers, lack of motivation, lack of general plan and team identity. Don't you see its MB who cannot handle this team well?
You bring up some valid points, but please allow me to retort.
1). I would say we have two great defenders and a possible( Kobe when he wants to), but that's man on man defense and that doesn't change anything in regards to help defense. I saw a familiar scene in the Dallas and Portland games. Instead of Pau and Drew talking about what went wrong on defense, it was Howard and Pau. The Lakers rotations on defense is what's atrocious.
2) good teams aren't built overnight. The Lakers have implemented a read and react offense and it will take some time to become second nature. The Lakers pushed the ball last night a little more which had Nash looking somewhat better. Nash is learning the offense too, but he had some plays where he looked like Nash.
3). Phil had a lot of the same problems that you just mentioned. However Phil was a god to most in here. Phil had questionable rotations at times as well, however I would take Phil's rotations over what Brown is doing right now.

I've been saying the same thing about two 7 footers meshing for years.
Kobe on fan overreaction "biting my tongue not to say "dumb"
Kobe: it's close to "idiotic" & "funny" to question an offensive system 2 games in. Says it should be very obvious that it'll take time.
LOL NO
Kobe media session lasted 8 minutes. Included 2 "shut ups, stupid, idiotic and amnesia" to describe the panic of Lakers fans
Our FO isn't going to make wholesale changes. They are committed to our team and coach as currently positioned.
Win, lose or draw, this is out team. I can't believe they have done this in light of acquiring Nash and Howard, but I guess they are going to make the corrections over this season and next. Then, everyone is gone, and we'll start over again.
But if something doesn't improve significantly, Dwight may not sign with LA at the end of the year.
That's the gamble of not making changes today. You could piss off Howard, because you didn't support him with the right cast of characters.
Kobe says difference is back then Phil could tell people to "shut up" but now it's Mike Brown telling people to "be patient"
Dwight Howard "going to come together. When it does it's going to be scary"
What about the defense?
I dont even know how to express my frustration anymore. I thought having Nash in our roster our team would change, but ITS the damn same as last season. Our defense is worst than DLeague teams defense.
i think a LOT of our problems would be solved if mike brown ACTUALLY coached defense. we are forced to walk to ball up the court TOO many times a game because we can't secure rebounds off missed shots, teams are shooting over 50% on us, and we don't create turnovers. we could accumulate so many easy potints if we weren't taking the ball out of the net. the offense will work itself out, we have TOO many great players not to. however, with two 7 footers, kobe and artest, we should be cleaning up the boards. we shouldn't be giving up second opportunities. and our help side defense...wait, we don't have any help side defense.
mike brown needs to insert hill into the starting lineup and move pau to the bench. not that he's better than pau, but he and dwight cancel each other out. hill has energy, bounce and will be a tear on the offensive boards. let pau dominate the second unit. he's one of the best back to the basket big men in the game. put him in the post, surround him with the shooters meeks, jamison and blake and let's get it! for heavens sake, he is NOT a point guard..we already have too many of those. we don't need his passing as much as we need his scoring and aggression.
Several of us have been calling for that very change today as well. I think it's a good idea...
And this pompous old twit has followers still touching and kissing the hallowed ground on which his majesty walks....
I have never seen anything like this...never heard Jordan, magic,Kareem, bird etc .....telling the fans to 'shut up'
It's all defense. No matter what offense we run I think our starting five can put up points whenever they want.
We just need everybody to make second efforts instead of giving up on the play..
& cut down on turnovers!
What scares me is that when Nash is out, Steve Blake & Chris Duhon look horrible..
I think we should look at Delonte West because who is gonna guard Russel Westbrook come May?
Really not frustrated yet! Mike Brown...is horrible!
The only thing that really is frustrating is, I cannot watch the games!! That sucks!
No Delonte West, he is cancer to the locker room lets give them 20 games. Its the regular season anyway!
OK so i no we have been talking about trading gasol for josh smith which i am a big fan of but watching our team play and Nash iam starting to have second thoughts i no its still early on in the season but hear me out for the future. Nash signed a 3 year deal right? obviously hes not gonna keep up with all these young pg's for 3 years i really don't wanna see gasol go without picking up a nice pf but we are in desperate need of a young explosive pg, i no Brandon Jennings and the bucks are at odds right now so what if we made a package deal involving gasol for this guys and we can move hill to the pf spot for now? get rid of Blake duhon, down the road move Nash to the bench and start Jennings? some people might disagree with me but we will get a good young pg with Nash in the future coming off the bench, even thou it will be hard to replace gasol replacing a pf is a little easier to replace than a pg ( a good one at that) since its a pg game right now. we would also get younger. let me no what you guys think
^Not a bad idea. Sean Livingston would be a cheap upgrade to Blake right now though.
I think p.u.n.c.t.u.a.t.i.o.n. would help your case. More than Jennings lol
^Perhaps a little 6th grade grammar and spelling lessons would be of assistance as well.
kobesgotalittle weenie? WTF? loooooooool

Kobe=Goat,
I have revised your statement, good thought thou! See below, original statement by Kobe=Goat (2012)

I like Jenninigs, but would not trade Gasol for him, and Steve Nash is plenty good still! The team will find there way.
who's gonna say "i told you so" first., Brown and kobe or nash and dwight? I bet nash and dwight wanna say this offense sucks, but they are still in the honeymoon stage. I would be really curios to see how chemistry will be once guys start doubting brown. Hopefully the honeymoon ends soon.

couldn't agree with you more...He could have expressed this with less arrogance. Guess the fans shouldn't have an opinion!
Agree! Give enough rest for the starters so they have the needed energy to finish games effectively!
Ah, another internet big guy who we should all fear. Wizard of Oz syndrome. Oh wait, I thought you said if we saw you in 'prison'. My bad ...lol

I can't believe Lakers haven't won anything since like forever.. First they lose all their summer league games, next preseason, now 0-3!
Meh
Change the thread title to Vent your frustrations on Kobe. That's all this really is about.
What did coach Mike Brown had to say?
“I’m not trying to fool anybody here, we do need a win and we hope that we could have gotten one tonight," Brown said after the game Friday night. "That’s part of the reason why Kobe played the minutes he played, which is too many..."
Does it mean that as a coach he doesn't TRUST his own coaching abilities that he sacrifice his stars just to win a game to lessen the pressure off his shoulder! What a coach that thus team have!
