The Suns do not play the next two nights. Meanwhile, the Lakers have Memphis and Seattle, both teams we are more than capable of beating. If we do, we tie the Suns at 26 - 11 for a share of the top spot. All we have to do is win baby. Can we do it?

We might be tieing them for 2nd, since Dallas plays Sactown on the same day we play Seattle
Winning these next two games would be one step closer to winning the Pacific & guaranting a top seed...
Say we win our next two games...that will put us at 26-11...our next game is against Phoenix...
Say Phoenix beats the Clippers, who is looking for revenge from their last two back-to-back losses a couple of weeks ago...that would put Phoenix at 27-11...
After those two games by the Lakers & one by the Suns, the Lakers & Suns have yet another showdown...say we win our next two & beat the Suns again...that will put us at 27-11 & put the Suns at 27-12(if they beat the Clippers)...the Clippers game is away for the Suns & they play the Lakers at Staples also...they're also not back-to-back games...so Phoenix should be tired of being in LA...that is how we can overtake the Pacific Division...
Now we have to start thinking after Phoenix...we play Denver, San Antonio, & Dallas...Luckily, none of those games are back-to-back...
we just have to worry about the lakers games only!
If we lose today or tomorrow we drop to the 5th or 6th seed....
I have a bad feeling that todays game is going to be a hard one.....all the nba games are hard to win....I hope the lakers just play hard and get a win while kobe is still sick
Do the lakers get a special exempt, trophy, award or anything for being in 1st place even before we reach the halfway mark of the season? maybe we can save the printout of the standings then and paste it on our fridge
it won't really matter if they overtake the suns tomorrow, the day after or in to weeks. The important thing is they overtake them AFTER 82 games, I don't care if its the last day of the season, as long as they overtake the suns, and all of the other teams for that matter.
The head-to-head encounters only play a part if we end up in a tie with that particular team at the end of the regular season. the only sure advantage they will get is MENTAL. If they end up tied at the end, then head to head will play a factor.
If we lose today or tomorrow, we still have 45 games left. the playoffs doesnt start today or tomorrow.
Its a long road ahead guys... we've only just begun. a lot of hardwork is still needed. no one wins championships in january
Actually, the Lakers will be West's #2 tomorrow along with the division lead since we own the tiebreak vs. Phoenix.
The reason everybody gets so happy when we're in first or second is because our team has been a 7th or 8th seed team the last few year, and it really just makes us happy to see that we're doing good again.
I don't know if we can beat them, I hope we can beat Seattle, but come thursday I think it all depends on whether drew is back or not.
well it says lakers #1 here http://www.nba.com/powerrankings/index.html
Mission Accomplished, Were #1. Well tied anyway, but #1 in the power rankings. Tough road ahead.
whats up with the #5 ranking in cnnsi power rankings? the celtics who lost back to back are still #1. While the pistons who lost 3 games last week and the hornets who the lakers whipped have a higher ranking. talk about being disrespected... hey marty burns, the lakers earned their wins. they didnt buy them from the supermarket
