My 2008 plan

I have made numerous threads about how I would reconfigure this Lakers team. I have gone to the extremes of trading Bynum to the point of trading Kobe. My new year's resolution has this on my list - trust Mitch Kupchak. WTF?! That *****, *****, @#8@#? Ok you may call him those names but after the Ariza trade, I prefer it if we kept our mouth shut for a second. Well there's a good chance he was merely extremely lucky but in thee Butler for Kwame trade, is there not a good chance he was simply unmistakenly extremely unlucky? I beg you to consider the possibilities... I must say looking at a 21-11 record looks much better than 0-0 at a certain point where it seemed trading Kobe WAS the only option. You have to reconsider your suggestions and your comments now that the Lakers have surprised basically the whole league. With the exception of Portland and New Orleans, no team has exceeded more expectations than our Lakers. January figures to be a relatively easy month. With the Lakers coming through December posting a 19-11 record, it would be safe to say winning 50 games will have to be the 1st agenda. As it stands, we only need to win 29 more game out of the 52 left to hit that mark. Thats a .557 clip after the washout vs Indiana and I think that's a very achievable goal to set. Forget about the division win, forget about the league's best record. The Lakers can only look at themselves and unleash what they have to meet that 50-win mark. If Portland loses steam, I'm voting Stan Vn Gundy and Phil Jackson as coaches of the year. What's ironic is that Mitch Kupchak might actually contend for executive of the year as well. Andrew Bynum....

Wow, good write up Warren. I agree with everything that you wrote and they all made sense. I like the part of securing Ronny Turiaf, Philly is already showing interest in this guy, I already knew what this guy could do when he played of the Zags, with 1 more year of developement, he could be that Dennis Rodman type that crashes the boards and a defensive presence but with some offensive firepower. I hope the Front Office knows what they have in Ronny Turiaf!

Nice one War. I agree on everything that you said. And I like the idea of bringing in PJ Brown. I think he can help us down the stretch in the playoffs.

I agree as well, we really need to keep Ronny and keep Bynum happy. If we keep playing like this, many good players will be interested in coming to the Lakers and then we have more options to choose from to improve this team.
