Minor deal with the Wolves?

Trademeister checking in. In a shakeup of sorts, I have devised a way for the Lakers to view the future in a different manner. Young talent has proven to be very valuable and its even more ironic happening on a Phil Jackson-coached team. Remember how Kobe Bryant became a Laker? It was for primed center Vlade Divac traded to the Charlotte Hornets for the rights to flamboyant out-of-high-school Kobe Bryant. Small price to pay for a gem that outlasts all other picks of his decade and making a run for Jordan's greatness. This is a trade proposal and its not even considered serious. But for people who have the "eye" for talent, its something we should consider. Gerald Green has not been in Minny's rotation. The high-flyer has since become Boston's future to Minny spectator. He is even contemplating on NOT defending his dunk crown. I say his confidence and value is at an all-time low. Mark Madsen has been considered a burly player that holds valuable importance on the bench and the locker room. He is a familiar face to this franchise and I would not mind taking him back. I am very excited on the thought of pairing him with Ronny Turiaf for the new-generation Bushwhackers! Chris Mihm has been in-and-out of the rotation. Thats what 18mos of ankle injury does to you. Yet for some reason, he might just be a valuable backup to another team. Most of all, that team might just be able to cut payroll by acquiring him too. Sasha Vujacic has since proven himself as a decent backup for Kobe. His stock is at an all-time high and I think Phil likes this guy. He is 6-7 and can shoot, and he has proven he can do more than target practice with the Denver game. I propose we do: Mihm +....

i like this trade, except i don't trust green's shot as much as sasha's. or at least sasha's shot as of late. also, i'd like to see critt try his hand at the 2 guard. i think he'd do pretty well there.

but with your lineup, i'd rather see the rotation like this:

fisher/farmar/critt

kobe/green/karl

walton/ariza/radman

odom/turiaf/madsen

bynum/kwame

like we've always said, our PF position is the weakest. i'd rather keep turiaf on the 4 and madsen back him up. madsen would allow for 2 spark plugs off the bench. plus, radman can stick to the wing and nail his corner 3s this way. he won't have to move so much if he's just plastered there. everytime the guy moves towards the basket, i cringe. radman, are u gonna get blocked?? are you gonna stumble?? we just never know til its too late.

Great trade idea Warren. Gerald Green is an athletic freak. Mark Madsen is an all-time Laker favorite of many Laker fans. The energy between Turiaf and Madsen could start a fire.

Would Minnesota want Mihm? I thought they were pretty deep at the C position - Jefferson, Doleac, and Smith. I guess Mihm is an upgrade from Doleac, but would that be enough to sway them for this deal?

I like Green, and I'd be willing to give up a 1st rounder to get him. The offer you mentioned isn't good enough in my opinion. I'm sure some other team would be willing to send a first rounder for Green.

madsen and turiaf.....VERY FUN TO WATCH!!!

Smith is a PF and so is Jefferson. Green is just rotting on the bench there. He is a FA next offseason so perhaps we could sign him with part of our MLE?

I like the idea too, and I kind of think we need that future 2 guard to stat growing now within our ranks. we have the point and center positions filled. I'd prefer to acquire a player that is a little more developed though.

if mitch can pull this trade out of his arse, then i will be convinced that he can sell ice to the eskimo's. minny wouldnt make that trade in a million years. why would mchale help us by taking our garbage for a young high flying sg with a bright future?

IIRC, Minny is letting Green become an unrestricted FA next year

Gerald Green will not ruin anything. If anything, he gets to play 3rd shooting guard next to Critt or Coby.

However, if we see things will not work well, we can let him go next year so no harm done.

I have seen Turiaf actually play better with the backup C that's why I am moving him there pending Kwame's return.

Minny needs Mihm in the sense that Al Jeff SHOULD BE playing PF and that Ratliff is out - yet again.

Green is an unrestricted free agent this summer, and he's not listed very high on the FA list. I think Chad Ford said that teams will only offer 3-4 mill per season for him, if that's the case, LA can get him.
