Lakers to Give LeBron New Contract

Lakers Forum » Lakers News

Just read where the Lakers are very confident on giving LeBron a new contract. Now to me that is the dumbest thing this organization can do giving a 42 year old player a contract. If the Lakers are ever going to win another championship with Doncic, they have to free up some money to sign up at least four good players to surround Luka Doncic, and the big whale the Lakers are thinking of resigning is LeBron James and his son Bronny. Those would be wasted seasons paying LeBron. LeBron should retire if he really cares for the organization and it would free up big money to support players that are younger and would help Luka Doncic at his prime. Lakers need a better center then Ayton, we could also replace Vando, and plus other bench warmers if the organization is sincere about winning while Luka is in Los Angeles as a Laker. I honestly believe 90% of loyal Laker fans would be very upset if they give LeBron a huge contract at his age. And I do not believe he would take a big cut to stay with the Lakers.

Why do the Laker management go around spreading a bunch of lies about who they are zeroing in to try and sign them for the coming season. We all know that if they sign LeBron to a monster contract, they will not have enough money to sign up anybody and staying under the cap. They mention players like Giannis which was ridiculous now is in Miami. Now they are talking about getting Dort? are they kidding, OKC would never let him go to the Lakers. If LeBron wants the big money, which I heard he does, the Lakers if they give him a contract will not have enough money to sign any good players. Lot of players do not want to play in California anyways because of the taxes which would cut dip into their salaries.

I have a feeling they are going to blow this off season badly. They are going to overpay Reeves and give Lebron another year or two contract. I don't think anything significant will change. They might add a few role players, but nothing to make us contenders. The Heat just got Antetokounmpo. We don't really have anything reasonable to trade so I think that market may be a dead end. I'd love for them to go after Kessler, but I think he is a restricted free agent so it may be difficult to pull off. Here's a good article that sums up what my thoughts are...

The Lakers traded number twenty five draft pick with the Knicks for Cameron Carr and the Knicks chose Sergio De Larrea from Spain. According to the stats from Cameron Car he averaged 18.5 ppg at Baylor. He is suppose to be a good defender also. He is 6'5".

I hope the Lakers can work with this young man and not let him sit on the bench like the other number one pick who was drafted in the no. 17 over all pick. Knecht was a good offensive player, but Redick never knew how to utilize the player. Obviously he did not care for the man, so he just used him on garbage minutes. I always thought that if a coach would have worked with him, he could have been a good NBA player. I wish him luck to where ever they trade him and I really hope he succeeds to be a great player.

Another player who I think we are going to trade away is LaRavia. I think with good coaching he would have gotten better then what he showed in the playoffs. I do not know if they told him not to shoot because in the playoffs I noticed that he was just playing defense, but no offense. He had showed on the regular season that he could make three point shots with consistency. Maybe the coaches only wanted LeBron and Reaves to do all the shooting. It was kind of hard to read Redicks mind on how he was running the offense.
