If I Were Luka...

If I were Luka, I would go back to Dallas...

I would strongly hint for Nico be fired...

And I would celebrate a new partnership with AD and Kyrie when he gets back on the floor...

Maybe Dallas will toss Lively or Gafford in our direction as a consolation prize?

Dallas did not trade Luka, Nico did.

He's the only person in the entire city who felt that was a good idea.

Luka would return to a team capable of a deep playoff run while the Lakers are partially rebuilding unless they can land Giannis.

Maybe LeBron will play for $1.00 in 2026 and come off the bench? Imagine that!

Probably more likely that Luka signs an extension with the Lakers, and that trade re: Mark Williams be revisited. Will be an interesting off season for sure.

Lebron for the vet minimum to allow Lakers to sign another star is another possibility as well.

I think Nico done the right thing in trading Luka. A player who does not want to get into playing shape should be dealt with. He was way out of shape when he come to the Lakers. He was always getting injured while being a Maverick and complaining a lot which he still does. I really can not figure why reporters made such a big deal about the trade in the first place. Windhurst or Windy just about blew a fuse when he commented on the trade. I thought he was going to have a heart attack. Being called the best player world wide was some exaggeration in my opinion. sure he can light it up every once in awhile if left open, but I have seen two way players that are much better then him.

Now LeBron should be traded away because of his age. It would be the dumbest thing if the Lakers gave him the hundred million dollar contract. And he told the Laker management he would not take a cut in pay to improve the team.

Gobert showed the Lakers how important a big man would have been to the Lakers team. The three they have right now need to go. Maybe keep Hayes as a backup coming off the bench, but Len, Kaloko can go look for a job else where. But there are others that also have to go like Vandobilt, Morris, Milton and Bronny.

I were Luka, especially now that the Mavs are also gonna have Cooper Flagg on the cheap, I would go back to Dallas where I am loved. They would become a perennial contender especially after Kyrie gets back next January.

If I were LeBron, I would go home to Cleveland. They are gonna rebuild a bit anyway so the perfect closure to an astounding career would be to go home for him too.

The Lakers could then focus upon Giannis or plan a multi year rebuild. The Lakers cannot build around LeBron any longer.

Luka is not a Laker stylistically. The Lakers would have performed much better against the Wolves had AD still been on the squad.

Andy Baily of Bleacher Report suggest the Lakers should trade for the pathetic center of the Celtics Porzingis who is always sick with an undisclosed virus, and is injured a lot. He suggests the Lakers trade Rui, Kleber and two number one draft picks. Andy Baily must be insane. Seems like all these sports analysts always want to fleece the Lakers.

After watching the playoffs I was wondering of all the good players the Lakers have traded away and are now very good players. Like Randle of the Wolves is amazing on his game, shooting and defense, Hart of the Knicks plays hard on both ends, Caruso of the OKC, Brandon Ingram, and even Kuzma, also in that bunch was Zubac.

The Lakers have made some dumb moves in the past for one super star which was AD. They forget that it takes a team of good players. Two or three super stars and the rest garbage does not win championships. So I suggest to the Laker organization to let Lebron go and build around Luka. Forget about what LeBron used to be. The time has come to let him go and with the money he wants, get some good roll players. These old geezers come to the Lakers because of what they used to be, but have declined in their game considerably.

Yes- not to mention Schroder, KCP, Clarkson & Brook Lopez. Porzingis is always injured and so not worth that much. Maybe Kleber, Shake & a first rounder. Throw in Bronny as well to sweeten the deal.

Two centers under current consideration that I am aware of are Okongwu in Atlanta and the 19 year old Chinese kid named Yang Hansen.

Yang's offensive skills are amazing but his defense is non-existent other than incidental blocks that anyone who is 7'-1" might get.

Everything revolves around who Luka can toss lobs to.

The Lakers are gonna end up though with Gafford or Lively I speculate... and giving away more impactful players:

Jordan Clarkson, Malik Monk, Alex Caruso, Lonnie Walker, Kendrick Nunn (Euro League MVP), Quincy Oliveri (waiting to launch), AD... etc. etc. etc...

AD outplayed Jokic in the 2024 playoffs but the Lakers lacked depth and lost... Imagine the Mavs next year... Just sayin'.
