JJ Reddick is 6 months older than LeBron...

JJ Reddick has never coached basketball at any level...

JJ Reddick will be a guard-centric coach...

Nobody else was a better pick?

Well, Redick is a very cerebral person and he did play in the NBA several years. I think with good assistant coaches to help him out, he will be just fine. Maybe he will be another Steve Kerr. You have to be smart to be a head coach and we have had some before that have made many bad decisions on who to have on the floor and when to call time outs, not to be afraid to challenge. So I wish him lots of luck.

I see where several previous Laker players who are retired now think that he will have lots of problems because he has never coached, but I also think they are upset because they did not get picked. But I do believe that if you have a high IQ for the game he will figure it out quick. I also heard that they are going to surround him with good assistant coaches.

Previous super stars usually do not make good coaches. They tend to get narrow minded and expect every player to be just as good as the super star used to be.. I believe that is what happened to Magic Johnson and Larry Bird when they tried it.

I was hoping a month ago that somehow we could of got Ty Lue. After not getting him, I was hoping for Jeff Van Gundy. Not only did we not get either, but the Clippers got both. Ouch. Oh well, maybe Redick will work out, only time will tell. I'm wishing for the best.

A fan since the early 70's. I'm done until this LeBron shytshow is over. WHAT A JOKE!!!

LeBron is expecting a $162. million dollar contract? The Lakers are crazy to give a 40 year old player that kind of money. That to me is insane. They need to let him go to another team, he can opt out of his last year with the Lakers and let him go play with who ever drafts Bronny. I am sure that the Lakers with the money they were paying LeBron can find easily another super star that wants to play with AD and the Lakers.

If Pelinka agrees to give that kind of money to LeBron on a long contract, then HE should get fired.

Everything is on Jeanie not Pelinka. Dr. Buss was not willing to extend Shaq so you know he dam well wouldn't give Lebron this money at this age.

Next up Bronny!! All aboard the Lebron Circus Train!!

Chooo choooo!

Reddick has one quality that I feel will be beneficial but will he apply it to LeBron?

I am referring to confrontation.

He took on Steven A. for example in a no holds barred verbal smack down more than once.

I had suggested that Udoka would make a good Lakers coach (assuming LeBron remains) for this reason.

I will be waiting for Reddick to undress LeBron in-game and I figure he will do this, assuming PapaBron remains.

Separately, I hope the Lakers get Edey in the Draft, but it looks like Portland is going to grab him first.

If the Lakers think paying LeBron stupid money makes sense, this is Kobe 2.0 all over again and when he gets hurt he will still get paid.

He's already worth 1.2 Billion. Why not give the franchise a break and let the world know that you too LeBron are committed to a championship?

Let him go to a team who wants to draft Bronny with him and move on.

Heck, do a 3-way with New York and New Orleans and bring back the players from 2018 which ought to have never been let go in the first place... Brandon and I think Julius are available!

It depends on the situation. Put AD in Kobe's place. If AD said it's either me or him, I'm not 100% sure Dr. Buss would not extend LeBron.

What is the obsession with 'star' in LA? Oh, it's LA...

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10125970-lebron-james-rumors-lakers-committed-to-nba-icon-open-to-3-year-max-contract-offer

"Los Angeles doesn't have a great deal of flexibility this summer to upgrade its roster if James signs a max contract."

"A three-year deal for a player James' age would be virtually unheard of in the NBA. It would come with significant risk because he has missed a lot of time recently, though his 71 starts last season were his most in a season since 2017-18."

162 MILLIONS TO A 40 YEAR OLD MAN THEN DRAFT HIS Son WHO IS NOWHERE NEAR READY FOR THE NBA. THEN HIRE JJ. I AM DONE UNTIL THIS SHYTSHOW IS DONE. Jeannie SELL THE TEAM, YOU ARE WORSE THAN YOUR BROTHER.

Tristan Da Silva is the name linked with the Lakers for now...

6'-10, very good handles and quick shot release. Probably similar to but better than Kuzma...

Impressive, but the Lakers need Edey... the next Yao Ming

I really hope they select Edey. He looks like a beast. Even if they get him, they still need a starting 5, which it appears they are finally starting to address. One thing I like about the Reddick dialogue is that he has talked about moving AD back to the 4. How long have we all been saying this? Good for him.

Portland, the most likely candidate for Zach Edey at number 14, traded their 14th pick for Deni Avdida to the Wizards.

I think Zach Edey has a very high ceiling. This dude dam near never came out the game in college. He could be Yao Ming or better. He doesn't have bad feet like Yao. He's going to be a steal.

Memphis took him at 9… another bummer in Laker land.

So, Dalton Knecht, the Lakers got a Zach LaVine / Jason WIlliams clone in the draft...

Is this what the Lakers needed? Nooooooo

Gonna put pressure on Reaves at the 2...

Implies a trade has to happen to sort out the 5...

So, if 6'-10" Da Silva goes onto to become an All Star, we can blame this on Rob as well...

Dalton is a steal at that pick!! I love it!! JJ is gonna be able to really coach him up and develop him into an even better offensive player! Just need to work on his defense more. Love this pick and can’t believe he dropped and made it to us! That game against Purdue in the elite 8 Knecht was so fun to watch he was so dominate in that game.

My gut is that this pick makes no sense and will serve to be yet another 3 point shooter who gets traded after a season or two, or perhaps now if they keep D'Lo and Reaves, Vincent and Dinwiddie.

Rob was quoted as saying, "He was top and 10 and exactly what the Lakers needed." I think Rob is wearing Kobe-blinders and Reddick just drafted himself.

It's next to impossible to be a guard playing with LeBron let alone a Rookie guard.

If the Lakers bring in Bronny at 55, who amongst you think that he will be left in the G League all Season or not be given priority?

Bronny is a less than average shooting 2... The same position as Reaves, Dinwiddie and Knecht...

The Lakers need a 5. I see a trade with Chicago or Milwaukee on the horizon and D'Lo being blamed for the Lebron affect which involves marginalizing the guards during the playoffs. This cycle keeps repeating over and over again. Nobody in the front office seems to have a big picture. Constant pursuit of immediate gratification leaves them unable to properly identify and accurately solve the actual problems.

Lakers are the NEW Celtics with all these White Boys. What A JOKE!!! DONE UNTIL THIS LEBRON/JJ SHYTSHOW IS OVER!!!

The Lakers drafted Dalton Knecht a tall wing who is a real good three point shooter. Yes he is a white man which should not make any difference. If they can do the job I do not care what color they are. I believe Dalton is around 23 years old and has four years of college. So he can step into the rotation right away, not like if he was eighteen. I was hoping they would have gotten a seven foot center, but I notice a lot of the top draft picks were centers. Lakers will probably draft Bronny in the second round. I think their next pick is number 55. I think if they get Bronny he needs to go to the G league and eventually build up for the NBA. I was not impressed with his USC game, but maybe it was just me.

Yes, I would have liked him, but he got picked by Memphis which is going to make the Grizzlies a very tough team. They were already a good team as it was, but they had a gun slinger who threw a bolt in the gears and got pulled out.

Knecht is not a bad pick. He's actually a good pick. We got a guy that's ready from day 1 versus a guy we have to wait to develop for 3 to 4 years.

I agree. Not the perfect position we needed, but Knecht was supposed to go much earlier. Most mock drafts I looked at had him being picked between 5th and 11th. I would have much rather preferred Edey, but I am happy with Knecht. We obviously still need to address our need for a center.
