In the NBA there not a lot of middle guys, if you are pretty good your making 20+mil a year. For examples Kuzma and DLO both will probably make 20+mil a year. Can you name a better player then Bruce this off season that will take 12.4mil? There is not a lot of them, he is near the top and showed last year, he's capable of playing off the bench and playing good in the playoffs.
Also Bruce leaving the Nuggets, will make them just a little worst next year, addition by subtraction. Nuggets, can't really make any moves, other then the guys they drafted and vet min.
I'm just not sure who is a better option to use our 12.4mil on.
However by using the Full MLE, we trigger a Hard Cape and can not exceed 171mil for Payroll.
So it really comes down to what the Lakers thinks they can get from the Full MLE and BAE.
Let’s assume we makes deals and we for sure have the following main guys on our team. LeBron, AD, Rui, Reaves, DLO.
We basically have to decide. Do we want to keep:
Beasley and Bamba and MLE (5mil)
Or
Full MLE (12.4mil) and BAE (4.5mil)
We have to pick one or the other of those 2 options. And the issue is? They probably
don’t know who exactly they can get for the Full MLE until Friday.
Obviously they would have to let go of Beasley and Bamba to offer the full MLE to Brown. They would want to avoid triggering the hard cap. If they move on from those 2 aforementioned gents( we should get some indication by end of tomorrow) then you know they are going to exercise full MLE on BB or someone we least expect.
If we use the Full MLE that is a trigger for Hard Cap. Also Laker have to make their decision on Beasley and Bamba by the end of today.
Please read the post again.
I specifically mentioned moving away from Beasley and Bamba so we could exercise full mle and avoid hard cap. If we know that by end of today that would let us know their plans either ways.

Sorry I read the word avoid, you just meant stay under the Hard Cap.
Fwiw I wouldn’t mind if they stayed with Bamba and Beas and offer the Bae to Schroeder. Schroeder might have some interest around the league, after his showing last year. So I wouldn’t be surprised if his value went up.
LeBron is way over paid. He should accept a cut in his salary so that the Lakers could sign a legitimate center. I do not believe Mo Bamba is a good starter. He might be good coming off the bench as a back up, but a starter?
But LeBron took a pay cut when he went to the Heat. If he really cared about winning one more before he retires, he should do the same. He is already a billionaire. I do not fore see him missing any meals. LOL! But it all comes down to greed and it seems like all these washed up super stars come to collect their final pay days from the Lakers.

We are so far over the cap. For example if Lebron took a 15mil pay cut, its not like we could go spend 15mil on a free agent. LeBron taking a pay cut would only help the Owners pay less in taxes.

Looks like our FO has there eyes set on using our Full MLE (12.4mil) and BAE (4.5mi) this off season. Also we are allowed to sign Bamba or Beasley this off season, it just now we would be competing against other teams.
So we can now assume the Lakers will be using their Full MLE (12.4mil) and BAE(4.5mil) this off season. And we will be hard capped. (171mil total salary)
So what does this mean about the 2 guys we let go, Beasley and Bamba.
Beasley: We have his bird rights, so we could pay him anything, however we have to stay under the 171mil hard cap. Depending on what we end up paying DLO, Rui, we could maybe give him 10mil a year at the most probably less.
Bamba: We do not have his bird rights, the only thing we can offer him to come back for is our BAE (4.5mil) or Vet Min.
I have not heard this rumor, but imagine if Irving took the Full MLE to sign with the Lakers.
It's pretty much sign with Dallas for bunch of money or if he signs anywhere else the most he will get is Full MLE from any other team. So our Full MLE is pretty much the 2nd best most realistic offer he could probably get outside of Dallas.
It's just something about playing in LA. Beasley will land somewhere else and shine. Just the way it is. Mo needs to go to the G-League. Oh and learn how to stay healthy.
Hayes, mcdaniel, reddish, carter in free agency?
I think Kyrie is a pipe dream. He doesn’t even list the Lakers as a team he is meeting with. Give me Brook Lopez for 15 mil a year. Resign D-Lo using bird rights and then look for Eric Gordon on a minimum and probably Troy Brown.
They more I read about him, the more I want him no where near to throwing on a Lakers jersey. He’s mentally unstable and needs help.
The way some of these shameless high profile reporters/sources use the lakers name for every free agent is hilarious. They do this crap as click bait but subsequently bash them when the season gets underway. Lol.

Well there you go….lol
Lakers are interested in Eric Gordon. Idk wtf they see in washed up Dinosaurs. Smh
These 2 guys are good pickups but I'm not going to go overboard. Playing in LA is totally different. The expectations are always through the roof and we've seen over the past few years hows guys all of a sudden play when they come to LA LA Land. I'll wait to see what happens by mid season. Good job Rob.
Keep in mind how Kendrick Nunn worked out for us. Just saying.
Have not heard of either of these grabs. I hope they don't go blowing all our cash when we haven't really secured our core yet. I feel like we are over paying these two. Not impressed from a stats prospective.
I was thinking the same thing, but Pelinka is not stupid. I'm sure he thought about this before moving forward. All should work out. I hope 😬
Do we sign and trade Dlo now?

Really excited about this. Now let’s secure AR15.
Ok Rob adopting the Denver model to make the team deep......To Be Continued.
We are looking good at the wings. That Is the model which helped us win the 2020 title. Unfortunately they went away from that philosophy subsequently.
My biggest concern at the moment is the retention of Reeves. I don't want to see him go to some other team. I would also like to keep DLo, because we do not have a PG that is considered starting material at the moment. Looks like D.S. is a goner, and we probably don't want to put our faith in our 17th pick to start. Secure Reeves and DLo and I will be happy.
I'm 99% confident they keep Reeves, and 51% confident the keep Russell. They will not let Reeves go after the regret and backlash they got for letting Caruso go.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Free agent G Dennis Schroeder has agreed to a two-year, $26M deal with the Toronto Raptors, agent Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN. 51 seconds ago " via Twitter wojespn
Drag, I really liked Schroeder. This pretty much means we keep Russel. I like Russell more, so I'm ok with it.
I like Dennis. We can argue he was our most consistent player all season. Durable,Clutch and Solid vet. My only concern for me was Ham is kinda obsess to him then makes questionable playmaking at times.
Russell and Reaves will make this team really competitive. We still need a big and a shooter. My wish list: Eric Gordon and Miles Plumlee.
DLo/Vincent/JHS
Reaves/Gordon/Christie
LeBron/Prince/Reddish
Rui/Vando
AD/Plumlee
That squad is solid all the way around.
Sign McDaniels and Hayes now.
After they signed Gabe, the writing was on the wall that one of the guards would get cut. It turned out to be DS. I loved DS and the intensity he brought especially on the defensive end. He was the underrated dude during our grind to make the playoffs and later on, in the playoffs as well.
However DLo would be the better (more accomplished) shooter and someone who can get his own on offense. Plus his playmaking ability is invaluable. He is no doubt a defensive liability, however they have now stockpiled some bonafide defensive wings so we could absorb some of Dlo’s deficiencies on that end of the floor.
I was hoping they would sign a sharp shooter like Seth Curry but it seems we always seem to miss out on him. He would have been a nice spark off the bench. Now I need some big dogs to man the center position. I know it’s a long shot and probably a pipe dream but I think B. Lopez would be the perfect fit alongside AD. Again wishful thinking but you never know, we might just throw the Hail Mary. Lol.
So here is where we stand as of this moment. The only 2 main moves left to make:
Resign DLO: We can pay him a max of about 23mil and stay under the Hard Cap of 171mil
Reaves: We can match any offer no matter what and it does not affect us resiging DLO. He will cost us 12,400,000 no matter what deal we end up giving him.
Vet Min: Sign 2 or 3 Vet deals to finish roosterm
LeBron James $47,607,350
Anthony Davis $40,600,080
Rui Hachimura $15,740,741
Gabe Vincent $10,476,190 (Used MLE)
Jarred Vanderbilt $4,640,000
Taurean Prince $4,516,000 (Used BAE)
Cam Reddish $2,165,000 (Vet Min)
Max Christie $1,719,864
Austin Reaves $12,405,000 (Early Bird)
Jalen $2,799,300
Maxwell $1,000,000
Vet Min $2,165,000 (Vet Min)
Vet Min $2,165,000 (Vet Min)
DLO $23,000,475 (This is the Max salary that we coulod pay DLO)
Couple more things:
**Since we are already Hard capped we could stILL do a S&T With DLO, maybe that is why nothing has been said about him yet. 23mil is the most we can offer him.
**Money wise only the Spurs and Houston have 20mil+ to offer Reaves a big pay day. Houston will not do that, but the Spurs could if they want to. There is a good chance we get lucky and not have to Pay Reaves 4year 100mil salary.
However DLo would be the better (more accomplished) shooter and someone who can get his own
on offense. Plus his playmaking ability is invaluable. He is no doubt a defensive
liability, however they have now stockpiled some bonafide defensive wings so we
could absorb some of Dlo’s deficiencies on that end of the floor.
As a big DLo fan, he falls into the Booker, KAT, Harden, etc. category. All very talented but zero dog, zero heart.
He’s great on offense but if he gets phased out of the offense a little he becomes a glorified spot up shooter. When becomes that glorified spot shooter, he’s useless. Zero effort on defense, no hustle, he’s all offense. Ham the “defensive coach” hopefully lights a fire under him, especially after that awful playoff run. He crumbled under the playoff intensity and showed no signs of trying to right the wrongs.
Jaxson Hayes!
One more minimum spot then DLo and Reaves decisions. Reaves is definitely back. I think DLo will be back as well. I’d like to see the last minimum contract should go to a shooter. Eric Gordon?
