We have bird rights on DLO and Beasley. And we have roughly 23 mil left to stay under the hard cap. We could bring both guys back if together there amounts stay under 23mil. For example DLO take 13mil and Beasley takes 10mil.

This is the dude I really wanted for the center position. I didn’t think we could get him. Rob is really killing it this time. Great signing. And young as well only 23 I believe. Really thrilled with this one as I always liked his hustle and attitude while he was with the pelicans.

So with DLO and Reaves locked up. My math could be wrong, but here is our last options.
We could give Beasley a 5mil deal(early bird rights). The fact that he has not signed anywhere, probably means that his market is around 5mil. Nobody is wasting their MLE on him or they would of already did it.
However signing with us would not be wise, because I don’t think he will get many mins, which hurt him trying to get his value up for another contract after next year.
Then also we can Sign 2 or 3 more Vet min deals
2/$37m for Dlo is a great deal for the both parties. This was tricky and Rob did well to keep it below $20m/per yr.
The other good thing all these deal, is we have so many good trade-able contracts. I don’t think we have a single bad contract on our team right now. If a huge name comes on the table this year to trade. We have the players to make it work and have a chance.
I like these lakers players loyalty. Instead of signing somewhere else, they are returning to the lakers.

Need another big. I would really hope they could get Bamba with the vet min. A stretch big would add some diversity amongst the bigs. It would also keep the opposing teams guessing while allowing AD to wreak havoc in the paint.

I’m still not convinced Ham would play any big other than AD if available. But hell of an off-season so far. Rob lucked into 2020 success, but last trade deadline and this offseason he proved he can swing with the best FO’s

Yes, I have a good feeling about this group and you know me, I am not Mr. Optimism. We kept most of our core and we brought in some youth, which includes some wings, which we really needed. We added size and talent. Looking forward to seeing what we can do. Now, if we could only get rid of LBJ.
That’s the elephant in the room isn’t it? Ham’s obsession for small ball (even against bigger teams like the Nuggets) is quite baffling. I believe he pushed really hard for Schroeder to be retained as well. I hope he gets the memo this season.
I read somewhere that the average age of this squad is around 23. That’s quite amazing from where we were just a couple of seasons ago.
With the center market drying up, I’d like to give the last spot to Mason Plumlee. We can offer a little more than the vet min but not much. He hustles, is a decent playmaker for a big and rebounds well.
I’m a little concerned about the SG position. Is Reddish the backup 2? Is it Max Christie? If we don’t get a big, we need a shooter. I’d be fine with Lonnie, Beasley or Eric Gordon.
Technically we could do both but that would lock us into 15 spots and I’m not a fan of that. Flexibility is always nice.

Of course. His track record doesn’t speak positive. A weakness of the team all season was periodic lack of size to relieve AD. We had not just one, not two, but several very serviceable if not GOOD bigs who didn’t see the floor with any consistency unless AD was hurt. Dare I say it may play into AD getting hurt more by overexerting him in the regular season?

I think Plumlee would be a better fit, Wood for whatever reason is always given the short end of the stick wherever he goes despite how obviously talented he is. I wonder why that is.
But as Magic said earlier, the elephant in the room. I'm convinced we could get Jokic or Embiid and Ham would still rather get rid of all of the other bigs on our roster including AD than to play two bigs in the same rotation.
How do you bring in Cam Reddish, who is in the NBA only because he was teammates with Barrett and WIliamson, and let Lonnie Walker go? Reddish comes slightly cheaper but you give away a potential future star for a Chinese league bench scrub for $2M in savings in today's NBA? It feels like Alex Caruso and the Front Office's short sightedness all over again.

Prince and Vincent seem like strong gets but for a team needing 3 point shooting and offense in general, the Walker decision makes zero sense. Someone in the organization likes Reddish for no apparent reason. He's third string at best.
Wood would have been great but with the Rui signing, it would create a logjam until LeBron gets hurt again.
The Lakers seem to be making decisions based upon LeBron and AD playing 82 games.
Wood had been complaining about playing time last year so maybe that influenced the decision not to go after him.
Westbrook took $8M / 2 year to play for the Clippers. Why the heck doesn't LeBron do the team a positive by taking $10M off of his bloated salary to help himself win that championship he claims to want so badly? Plumlee back to Clippers. Disappointed for sure but we couldn’t offer him as much. Not many bigs left. Christian Wood could be a steal with the markets drying up.
I’m ok if they bring back Bamba or even TT. TT can hang in with the bigs and Bamba provides some diversity amongst the bigs with his outside shooting. Plus he’s a decent shot blocker. I read somewhere that Howard wants to return to the nba; I wouldn’t be averse to a Howard flier.
Or maybe they feel Colin Castleton might hold his own as the backup C.

Absolutely. I've been promoting him here for a couple of years now. Wemby got exposure and Bol Bol did not. It's that simple. Their games are similar including ball handling skills.
This would be a perfect pick up for the Lakers although like AD, he's a forward and not a center!
