2021/2022 Buyout Market Rumors/Ideas

Lakers Forum » Lakers Rumors

The Dennis Schröder rumor is the one that’s both ridiculously hilarious and sad at the same time.

This was a player the Lakers couldn’t part with quick enough during the offseason, and now in this lowest hour of desperation, we go crawling back to him? Wow… Now I’ve seen it all.

If I were Dennis, and Rob Pelinka dialed my number, I’d pick up, hear “Hi Dennis, it’s Rob…”, then laugh out loud, and hang up the phone.

I’m sure Dennis has better options than returning to this L.A. dumpster fire. Even playing in Europe has to be more appealing than coming back to this trash Laker team.

What’s even more hilarious (and rough at the same time); According to another rumor, they reached out to Sacramento in a covert fashion to see if they could trade Westbrook and pieces for….wait for it…..Buddy Heild. LMFAOO.

The reports which are slowly trickling out, indicates that the lakers didn’t want Westbrook to know about this. They had already accepted the Westbrook (mis)adventure was an epic failure few games into the season, well before the trade deadline. I think LeGM and AD should focus on bb and stop playing fantasy BB at our expense.

Lots of these “Lakers Tried” stories. Ya, well…. You should have tried harder because we are the laughingstock of the NBA.

Lakers monitoring Dragic…..

Don't think there's any help coming. We're stuck in the Abyss.

Probable buy out names:

Robin Lopez

John Wall

Dennis the Menace

Patrick Beverly

Gary Harris

Goren Dragic

Do any help us? Pat Bev probably most, and that would be funny, considering how much we all hate the man. Wall, if he's bought out, would be a low rate rental. If he is ready to play. Harris would be decent. To get anyone off the buyout, we'd have to waive a cple players as we have 15 now. Ok so Ellington and Nunn, there's 2.

Baze and DJ are probably the first two to go. I don’t see a scenario in which we by Nunn out. We will need his salary this off season for trade purposes.

I also a dubious on some of these guys even picking us. Like why would Gorman choose us over GSW or the Heat right now?

Adrian Wojnarowski: The NBA is reinstating guard Tyreke Evans, sources tell ESPN. He was suspended from the league in 2019 with a drug ban.

Tyrese Evans anyone? I really liked his game.

Haha...is this because they've done away with drug testing now?

Too much of baggage for my liking, plus he’s been out for 3 years. I would prefer Dragic over Evans.

Just hoping something works out on the Schroeder front.

I am with you on Schroeder. Start him, and have Westbrook come off the bench.

BUT, and it's a biggg buttt...will Shrooder bear a grudge and play like crap since he knows he's only a rental, and we dumped him once already? Or will he show up and play for his life, since his career trajectory depends on it? What kind of common sense does he have? How's his ego?

There aren't any wings on that list. There's a cple of PF/C, and a bunch of guards. We need a wing D. Maybe Danny Green gets bought out? Probably not, coz teams will realize if they buy out certain pple they could then go to the Lakers, and it seems everyone is hellbent on not doing anything at all that could help us. To the point of hurting themselves to do so. It's truly bizarre.

Another list. Blake Griffin anyone? Wink

We really need 3+D guys, and/or shooters. Problem is the rock isn't being shared well atm. So shooters, if they come to LA, will come here to die, as per usual.

100% agree on this. Do it Mitch! I mean Rob.

This is what happens when you get in bed with Klutch. I mean Ben Simmons has 4yrs left on his contract and got of Philly. Who does that?....I forgot, Klutch.

What's the difference between Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan?......Nothing.

I was screaming from the rooftops for the Lakers to get DeRozen. Lakers didn't listen. Morons. Him and Buddy Heild. Had they done that, and kept Caruso, this would have been a very different season.

Btw, news is Lakers are after Dragic now on the buyout. If they do that, the good news is I don't think he'd be afraid of LBJ. Unlike Shroooder, who was simply acting petulant and pouty.

Dragic has official been bought out. We should jump on this. Not that he could save the season, but if we could start him and play Westbrook when Lebron isn't on the floor, that may help. I would put $50 on him signing with the Warriors or the Nets though. Why would he want to come to this circus when he could simply sign with championship bound team. I know how the Lakers operate. They sit on the sidelines and watch all the other teams make moves and move forward. They are playing chess and we are playing...... A, B, C's? Checkers is giving management too much credit.

I’m watching Undisclosed with Skip and Shannon and the topic comes up about the Rams parade and Lebron’s suggestion that the Dodgers and Lakers should share the parade with the Rams to make up for Covid.

STOP THE PRESSES!!!!

WOULD KOBE BE AT THIS SUPER BOWL!

Just a few hours earlier you missed an easy put back to tie the game and you ULTIMATELY missed the first of 3 free throws that would of tied the game and potentially send it to overtime.

Yet, you’re at the Super Bowl just hours later commenting on things like this is the best halftime show ever.

I NEED SOMEONE WHO CARES. NOT SOMEBODY WHO’S PARTYING AT A SUPER BOWL, WHILE, YOU’RE A HUGE REASON WHY YOU JUST LOST A GAME JUST A FEW HOURS AGO, AND YOU’RE ON A FREAKING LOSING STREAK AND YOU MIGHT MISS THE PLAYOFFS!

I’m perfectly comfortable in standing alone in my thoughts. Once Lebron’s contract is up I want him to leave, immediately! He and his fanboy obsessed media. They say he’s going to leave to play with his son. They say if the team around him keeps playing bad the he’s going to leave.

I’ve had enough. I can’t wait until this total disaster is over!

Other than the bubble boy season, it's been a disaster from the start. Should never have brought that primadona here in the first place. Again, not to toot my own horn, but I was one of a few who was against the idea. If only the Lakers would listen to me lol.

Now that Cleveland has a decent team, I'm sure he'd like to go back there. But to get "Bronny", it would have to be a lottery team. Wait a minute!! I got it. He's tanking this team so they can get his son in the lottery!! That's it!! Genius!!

My opinion is that we should trade everyone for some younger talent in the off season. This includes LBJ and AD. AD isn't old, but he clearly isn't working here. When I mention trades, I am not referring to trades specifically including draft picks. We should have no business in the development of draft picks. We couldn't develop symptoms of COVID after spending a week in a room full of contagious individuals. I know, bad analogy, but I think you get it.

I'm hearing Davis has a no trade clause. Is that true? If so my goodness how stupid can you be. Only the best deserves that.

Tristan Thompson......why are we even looking at him?......smh.

Wtf is wrong with them!!!???

Thank goodness he signed with the Bulls.

Ramona Shelburne probably burned a bridge with the FO stating basically they said LBJ and Davis got themselves in this mess so get yourselves out of it. Even if true, not sure they wanted that out there. But anyways, moving on...lol.

The sad part about it IMO, is that he couldn't have been this player alongside LBJ and Davis. I wouldn't be surprised if the FO went after him and LBJ and Davis blocked it.

Yeah but anyways knowing our team, if he had come here they'd have screwed him up somehow and he'd be having his worst season ever, instead of his best.

Btw, no one has mentioned this yet, but the actual rumor at the time was we could get DeRozen and Lowry, who both wanted to come here. Esp as a tandem, being apparently good friends. Now let's let ourselves imagine that lineup. The way they're both mega helping their respective teams right now. Remember the impact the DeRozan for Kawhi trade had in it's time. Similar to Kyle leaving TO, when they both got traded out. They both wanted to come to LA together. And the were UFA. So no trade necc.

Let's also not forget lots of pple on this site didn't want them here. There was lots of negative talk about them both at the time. With great relief expressed when they went elsewhere. Hindsight may be 20/20, but it let's you know how difficult it is to play armchair GM. Let alone real GM.

^^^

Facts.

Gragic goes to the Nets.

We have a LBJ problem my friends. His comments at the ASG were outrageous. Time to trade that primadona. And lots of sports pundits are saying the same now. Where ever his son goes, that's where he'll be? Really LBJ? How do you figure that? There are these funny little things called contracts. He acts as tho he owns the freaking NBA. Problem is if we dump him, and I wish we would, he has real value still, then what we're left with is Glassman and Half Cocked (Russ). Then what? This team assembly is a disaster. Why? Lebron wanted Davis, then he wanted Russ, and he got his way both times. And now we're in deep doodoo. This is what happens when stars get or are given too much power and say in an organization. They're not GM's, they're players. They should all just STFU and play and not interfere with the running of the team. Esp when they suck at it, as he most certainly does. The NBA needs to do smth about that situation.

We got one ring outta the guy, we won't get another with him on the team, esp with his current wtf attitude. Time for call it quits and have a fire sale. Trade him for a cple young studs and draft picks. Same with Davis. Whoever gets one or the other could win it all this year. Good, let them, we're not gonna so who cares. Time to cut bait Rob! Rip off the bandage. Sooner than later.

Russ has a player option for next season. So no need to trade him now, tho he'll be an expiring so we could. LBJ has one more year so he's going into an expiring season also. Tho he probably has protections built in like a no trade clause. So that could be a problem. But anyone who wants to win it all this year would take on one of those contract risks. Question is what kind of haul can we get in return. Anyone?

Trade deadline has passed.

We can’t get anything for him this year.

And he will have a say on where he plays as he has lined his contract up to be a free agent when Bronnie gets drafted.

True it's too late to move him now. But in the offseason, as long as he doesn't have a no trade clause, he can be. I realize he'll force the issue by not signing anywhere for more than the year left on his deal. That will make it difficult. Wherever he goes will have to tank, or have a lottery pick in their back pocket to have a chance at Bronny, assuming he signs anywhere. Is he good enough? Imo the NBA changed the HS rule to accommodate LBJ, to get his kid into the league sooner. Smh...

If LBJ does go, AD has to go, meaning Russ won't pick up his player option very likely. So we'll have a fat bankroll to spend in the off season. That's an intoxicating idea. Sit LBJ and AD down for the rest of the season, Roll out the tank, and go from there. As it is AD isn't likely to come back before the last week of the season anyways. That's his MO.

Dragic to Nets btw.
