Tru dat. Although it hurts ratings, it must make small market owners salivate. And Old

There are a handful of people on this forum that think that their comments and/or opinions
are the only thing that is relevant here. I see it on a daily basis and it's getting
really old.
Here was my point because clearly you need someone to break it apart for
you;
Someone posted on here about how his respect for KL actually increased after he totally
screwed over the Lakers. He continued to talk about how amazing the Clippers are
going to be and that it's going to be the "team of the
west".
All I was trying ito do was point out is that if you want to circle jerk with Clippers fans,
there is a site, just like this one, you can go do that at. We all understand that the
Clippers are going to be great but this is a Lakers forum. We are not here to praise the
**** Clippers. You can go to the Clippers forum and praise them all day long if you
would like.
I was partially kidding when I wrote my initial comments, but now I am doubling down
specifically because I am tired of you elitist assholes on here that I have seen for
the last 8 years. Same people, time and time again, attempting to push people
around. I'm done with it

Honestly this is gonna be my last post to you because obviously you aren’t wanting to
just have conversation and debate on here you want to just cause issues. Ask anybody
on here I have never tried to push them around on here and I truly don’t feel
like I did that in this situation. In fact it’s the opposite. I gave an opinion

trying to point the fingers at other people maybe you need to take a look at yourself
and how you are acting towards others.
Yes this is a site for Lakers fans but guess what a lot of us like basketball in general and
enjoy talking about the landscape of the NBA and what our competition is looking
like this year. To say we can’t speak the name of any other team or players is A
little too much if you ask me. Now I’m done talking about this situation if you
want to try and talk anymore crap then so be it. I’m not about that life though
especially when I’m trying to enjoy talking with fellow Laker

The entire league got mad at AD for going to the Lakers because of LeBron, while KD &
Kyrie were plotting all along to go to the Nets and taking a paycut for DeAndre. What
about Kawhi getting PG to demand a trade out of OKC?
Just say you hate Bron and/or the Lakers and lets move on. I think this league has become
shady to say the least. Hope you guys get to read the stuff from ex nba official Tim
Donaghy. He blew the whistle on this bs long time ago and got canned for it. Google
it.
Silver wanted parity in the league and this PG transaction wreaks of foul play. Great job by
the Clipper FO and management, props to them for outsmarting the dysfunctional LAL
FO/ownership, but they got a huge assist from the powers that be. Let’s not
downplay that.

MagicLakez has me on ignore, but I agree with his last post above. No doubt there was collusion to
keep the Lakers from getting stronger. Whether with the league office knowledge or
not, hard to say. Maybe just rich owners pulling strings behind the scenes. Bribes
and the like. Not much doubt it is going on tho. Been saying that for
years.

Don't know about Kawhi signing, he would have been a laker if Clippers didn't pull off PG
trade. They gave up the farm to do it. Personally I think Thunder were smart to do it,
that team was going anywhere as far as playoffs, and they get themselves out of
luxury tax. But agree, this league and ever other major sports league does shady
sh!t.

For as much as Magic proclaims to "love" the Lakers, he seems to always do
more harm than good for the organization. I had a lot of respect for Magic up until
this last year. He needs to just shut his mouth, not get involved in anything Lakers
and focus on his other businesses. I know its not all his fault, the FO I'm sure has
some blame to carry (like not hiring West or a more seasoned President or GM). I thank
God that he does not have the influence or has any decision making when it comes to the
Dodgers.

Yup Thanks Magic and also thanks Kawhi, Clippers and PG for “next level”
collusion. How does the league stay quiet when the Clippers were sending a scout to
Toronto for almost the entire season?
I blame the lakers as well, for lack of intel and for not getting whiff of this
deception. You see stuff like this happening only in the underworld and big time
drug cartels. Lol
You do realize that part of having conversations on this site is to evaluate where we
fall in line out of the top teams. Who is going to be tough matchup who has advantages
over us, where we have an advantage on them. That’s kinda the point of this
page. So I guess if you don’t like that aspect of it you can just ignore these
comments that the rest of us like to discuss. Just because you talk about other teams
and good additions they have made don’t make any of us less fans. I am a
basketball fan first and foremost and the team I choose as my team is the lakers but I
still love watching other teams play and respect their games. If your not ok with
that then maybe don’t come on the site? Just a thought.
Perfectly stated. Some of these guys get all worked up if you state a positive about another
team or player. Never saw that on here before. But it’s all good. Great
post.

I was not offended by your initial post to me, just to be clear, but like the guy said,
this is a Lakers forum, the Lakers play against other teams and other players that

there not be other teams and players being discussed as well as the

So Kawhi is a flip flopper? Big surprise. Then again I read that he went to Irving, then
KD, then PG, himself to ask them to join him on the Clips. They all responded they were
flattered, barely knew the guy etc. Only PG responded in the affirmative. So does

intended to go to Clips all along, but only if they could secure another star, which

I don't understand what you're saying. how does this contradict? it's probably very
accurate. kawhi didn't think the clippers were going to get anyone & he told the
lakers i have to meet with raps but plan to come here. presti had insane demands and
finally the clips agreed to give it all up to land pg & kawhi. really unfortunate
for us he was that close to joining but is what it is at this point.

The only one i really heard that he wasn't coming to us was the Jalen Rose comment he made.
Everything else i heard was he was coming to the lakers. All of this jives up with what
the rumors were. He wanted to go to the clippers but only if he could find a running
mate. Everybody else was already off the market that he wanted to team yup with so he
told the lakers he was going to the go with them. Then like Cris Carter reported the
Clippers knew that Kawhi was about to join the lakers which would have created a
dynasty so they decided to give up everything the thunder was asking for in order to
stop Kawhi from going to us. So this post makes perfect since along everything i have
seen reported. Sucks though that he was that close to coming and if it wasn't for them
giving up way too much for PG just to keep us from having out dynasty. Oh well though I
am really happy with the team that we have put together i just saw that post and
thought i would share just how close it was from happening.

There was a string of articles saying he himself tried to talk to Irving, KD, Butler, and
finally PG about going with him to the Clips. As tho that was his first choice all
along. That it was his idea, not the Clip FO to get PG to leave OKC. And this all was
ongoing through the season. That it turns out the quiet Mr Leonard is actually an
excellent recruiter. So who knows. I think I posted those other articles somewhere
here recently. But they're out there anyways.

Ya i read about those and it was probably true. I am guessing based on how this worded
that he approached PG but clippers couldn't get a deal done at the time but then when
Kawhi was about to sign with the Lakers the Clippers said screw it lets give them all
of this so Lakers don't end up with a dynasty. I bet you Ballmer was a big part of that
decision. He really wants to make the Clippers a contender and get a title. He is
annoying don't get me wrong but the guy seems like a really great
owner.
Shepherd Posts: 13242votes: 59

The truth probably lies somewhere in between. And Balmer is mega rich. Probably the
richest owner in the NBA. So he can out spend, and he's not stupid, so outthink,
perhaps, along with West, how to get things going in the right direction. Still, in
either case, it seems at least initially, KL was hoping things would go the Clips
way, and in the end they did.

Here's the BIG question:
Say we had a choice between a 100% healthy Boogie Cousins or Kawhi, based on our squad,
who would you choose? Not a simple answer....as they say, you can't teach
height.
Based on the two great games he played with the Dubs (and he was a warrior, coming back so
soon) I might choose... Cousins.
So, if he totally recovers, we now have an awesome BIG THREE. And if -- by some fluke -- Kuz
becomes at least the shooter that Korver was, we have a BIG FOUR.
Not too shabby.

A healthy cousins and healthy KL are both great players, but different. So the choice
would depend on many things. Money for one, what position you need filled on your
team, or who you want to build around. The offense and defensive concept you're
running etc. I think, all things otherwise being equal, money etc, you choose
whichever one wants to play on your team the most. But I take your point. A healthy
cousins is a beast. And so let's hope he's healthy.
It's also a lesson for the Knicks. If it took 2 years for Cousins to fully heal, as best he
can, from achilles, don't hold your breath on KD. It could take a year or more, maybe 2
until he's back to 80+%. If ever. Imo Cousins so far is one of the few real success
stories from that type of injury, esp given his size. How well he has bounced back so
far. It's encouraging. Pity he's on a 1 year deal so we can't re-sign him next summer
and go over the cap. Let's hope he is back, and they can find a way. I was hoping he'd
come to us from Sac. And he almost did if you guys remember. He wanted
to.
Funny how DH13 now says he's becoming more humble and wants a fresh start. Yeah, good luck
with that.

100% healthy may not be possible for Cousins if the expectation is for him to be every bit
as good as he once was. Those Achilles injuries are absolutely devastating. Kobe
was never the same after his Achilles injury. I'd pick KL, but since we didn't get
him, I'm still very happy we have Cousins. He's a legit center even if his ceiling is
probably only 70% or 80% of what he used to be. Even better, Cousins is an absolute
bargain a 3.5 mil.

Kobe was a high flyer and older -- one would not expect him to return to form. KD and DC are
both flat footers (Cousins even more so) and younger, so they might hit a 90%
recovery.
Based on a couple of games last playoffs, Boogie looked damn good under Championship
conditions. We just might have a BIG THREE.
On the other hand, it looks like Kuzma is being seduced by the Dark
Side.

I'll take an 80% Cousins. Remember Kobe, banged up achilles and all, scored 60 in his
finally game. And he was 10 years older then Cousins is now. As long as it doesn't get
injured again (can that happen?) I'm not too worried. He may not be able to be the
center piece of a team, tho that remains to be seen. But he is still damn good. Give him
time. He might surprise everyone. If not, he won't be bad for sure. His salary will be
commensurate with his abilities. If he's even 80% or prime Cousins his current deal
is a steal.

WOW!!! Holy crap!! The article I read about the stars now running the league at their own
whims seems to be more and more true. That's outrageous. What they gave up for him.
For 2 years. Dayummmmm. Or taster what they gave up for PG. Since KL was a FA. They both
held Clips for ransom. We all speculated KL would want a 2 year deal so he could get his
new max at year 10. And in the end, we were right. Maybe Clips think they can convince
them to stay, but they will both get the 35% max, that's 70% of the Clips cap space!!!
For 2 players. This story get more and more crazy by the minute. I am now soooooo glad
we didn't get those chumps!!

Can’t blame them for wanting to get their money. But man from the clippers standpoint
giving up all that for potentially only 2 years. I would only do that if you truly felt
you were going to easily contend for a championship and honestly I just don’t
see the Clippers as an easy team to get there. Do they have a fighting chance? Of
course but honestly I would put at least 6 teams before them.
