Lakers Plan to Sign F Derrick Williams to a 10 Day Contract
Lakers Forum » Lakers General DiscussionsA great signing, it's not like we have cover at pf or SF.........
It’s only for 10 days , not trippen
I wish he was the same D Will of the past, but he's long past his good play. And no real excuse for it either. Except he got fat. Maybe he'll be more motivated here than he was in NJ. Once Utah traded him it was o.v.e.r. The guy fell apart. Not a biggie on a 10 day. But I'll be curious why they did that. Could have used another 2 or 3 more than another PG really. Now IT and Zo get to share mins with D WIll? Hmmmmm. Maybe they're hoping he has something left in the tank and his shot comes back, and they sign him for next season on the cheap and flick IT away to his next stop.
I think you may be thinking of Deron Williams.
Ahhhhaaahahahahahahahaaaaa........yes I was. Dang. My bad. Nevermind hahahahahaaa
Didn’t Derrick Williams play with the Cavs for a year? I think Lebron was happy with him... this feels like another conspiracy-worthy move to me lol
So we picked up another athletic wing, who hasn't really lit up the stat sheet, although as a top pic more was expected. Maybe a new life will bring out the best in him. Or he'll at least turn into a good utility guy for a small price. His D is supposed to be good. Lakers have 17 players on the roster now, including the 2 two way contract guys. Lot of tradeable assets I guess, if nothing else.
Yeah Hart getting injured, followed by Ingram was part of the whole plan. They figured if they could get them injured and they bring in a NBA bust, Lebron is going to be swayed to come out West and sign with the franchise.
In other news, LBJ had an avocado at breakfast, another sure fire hint he is going to California this summer, but which team, click this link you won't believe the results.......
Lol I know, just having fun with it... but for the record, while I would cheer on Lebron as a Laker, I am not whole-heartedly on the side of signing him.
Yes I am the crazy person who would rather grow with a bit more patience and team culture than sign stars over 32 who demand a lot of things in every way.
Like I said I will certainly cheer him on if he is here, but if I were GM I wouldn’t be completely convinced that Lebron is the correct path to take.
I am not against signing big stars by any means, just prefer a bit younger so they can stay longer. I’m not in the the whole hopping around the league. I like when guys stay put for a while. Guess that makes me old lol

Problem is, and this has been mentioned, that all young guys who play well will eventually have to be paid. Their salaries go up, not down. So it's hard to keep multiple young stars forever.
