Since Kidd has been fired. I would try to reach out to him for a consultant/asst coach position. Similar to what Nash is doing with the GSW.
He would be the perfect or ideal mentor we were looking for Ball. And there have been several comparisons drawn with him and Ball. Can’t ask for a better situation if you are looking to develop your franchise PG.

Kidd is a mediocre coach with a huge ego. Left Brooklyn in a bad way, fizzled out in Milwaukee. The Bucks are very much like the Warriors in 2014. Parted with a coach who was power hungry and wouldn't have taken them over the top. They need someone else to take them over the top. Can't see him taking an assistant coaching job. I also don't believe Lonzo really needs another person in his ear. If he's sitting down watching film and getting advice from Magic, who was a better player than Kidd, what is Kidd really bringing to the table here? Ball is progressing nicely, not sure you want too many people telling him to do this or do that otherwise it might just confuse him.

Yeah but we have 5 goofballs disguised as assistants who don’t appear to be doing anything either. So how is that too many people? You yourself mentioned on one of the threads that these assistants we have do nothing and that Luke needs help.
Magic is not blowing sweet nothings in his ears either...lol...he has bigger fish to fry including his own business interests. Kidd is more connected with the modern game than Magic.
Lastly magic himself was searching for a mentor player for Ball but ended up with Ennis (lmao). So it’s not something I am manufacturing on my own.
They do need better assistants. I just don’t think Kidd is the answer.
Yeah that’s my concern as well. But I feel since he would still be getting paid by the bucks, he would like to be involved in something rather than be idle. Similar to B. Shaw/M.Brown/Nate. Nate got Head coaching position eventually.

From a player development side, I think they are ok. Guys such as Brian Keefe and Miles Simon supposedly are good. My issue with the coaching staff they have now is that there doesn’t seem to be anyone to help Walton when it comes to matchups, substitution patterns, allocating playing time, timeout usage. They need someone who can help him recognize and counter the opposing team’s lineup. Because sometimes for Luke, he seems to subscribe to a one size fits all philosophy. But you have to adjust. I would look to see if there’s another Ron Adams out there, an experienced coach who can help Walton prevent some of these mistakes. Although he was pretty good yesterday.
Nah J. Kidd will end up on ESPN as an analyst more than likely waiting on his next HC opportunity IMO.

Anyways my point exactly, no assistant seems to be involved while scouting other teams or in game strategies. I don’t even know the defensive specialist on our team. Almost every team has a designated specialist. At least that is the perceived optics from outside looking in. I really like Budenholzer or whatever his name is. Liked how he managed the resources in the summer league. I can see him taking on a greater responsibility. He is has just been relegated to the background with a blank clip board to hit other assistants with. Lol.

The franchise needs to employ more people that are not part of the "Laker family". It's just so conceited to think they are automatically the best. I wouldn't be against him coming in, or other experienced coaches. As you said, the current crew leave a lot to be desired.

I actually thought of that as well. Apparently he is quite bummed out that they got rid of him and there are reports that he tried to convince the management to rescind the firing. Greek Freak is what he is today, largely due to the way Kidd handled that resource. He was the one who decided to put the ball in his hands which subsequently translated into his recent successes.
From the trainer, to Mark Madsen(and..cough..Luke. Lol) to countless other execs. All bumped up as a gesture of appreciation. This is not a brick and mortar store operation. Lol.
I’m not sure I would replace Luke with him as HC. But at the very least he’d be good as a developmental coach. But as someone mentioned earlier he doesn’t seem the kind to accept an assistant position
No, not replacing Luke as HC by any means. I’m also not sure if he would want another song and dance exercise so soon.
Consultant/developmental coach is what I had in mind as well. I mean Magic is the greatest ever Pg there ever lived. Period and mic down...or whatever. But he played in the 80’s, this guy is more connected with the current requirements and demands associated with the modern day PG. What he accomplished with Greek Freak cannot be overlooked.
However like you and others have mentioned it’s moot point, if he has more ambitious intent.

That's a good idea Magic. If I were the front office I'd go for it- he seems to be able to get through to players well, and would be a great mentor to the point guards, especially Lonzo Ball who has a similar game as Kidd.
Exactly Dave and see the body of work he put in with Greek Freak. Could be a bargaining chip to get Greek Freak down the line as well.
Was Magic the best PG ever? I dunno. Great yes, but best? Other names come to mind. Stockton/Nash/Cousy/Robertson etc.
I think to most, even Laker haters, can't deny Magic was the greatest PG. Not only was his on-court skills as good as anyone's, particularly his passing, his floor-general status is what puts him over the top. He made the game fun for everyone and was a leader through and through, on and off the court. The combination of skill, inhuman passing ability, size and vision already puts him above the rest even if just a tad, the ability to lead and make others want to follow is just icing on the cake.
With that being said, he does have a crummy eye for talent and is very obviously new to this whole Pres. of Basketball Operations thing.
