Rumor: Dwyane Wade Interested in LA?

Lakers Forum » Lakers Rumors

Dwyane Wade has reached a buyout- rumor has it that he will pick Cleveland, Miami or LA- though it is unclear which Los Angeles team he is interested in. What do you guys think about D-Wade joining the Lakers? Would you support such a move?

Quote:
Though ESPN reported that LeBron James’ camp expects Dwyane Wade to end up with Cleveland if he reaches a buyout with the Bulls, a Wade associate has been telling people that Miami and Los Angeles are also appealing destinations for Wade.

Pass. Clearly passed his best.

please go to Cleveland. Why would the Lakes want such an old dude?

Oh no not another Luol Deng!!!!!.....nooooooo.

I'll take him over Deng , on bargain basement contract. Lol

If I had my choice between the 2, just kill me on the spot.

I'd take him if he's willing to be a back up to KCP and for this season only. He helped win 3 championships after all and could be a good mentor to our young guns. Insurance in case Clarkson is traded as well.

Comparing him to Deng is disrespectful to D-Wade...He's 12-time All Star, 3 time NBA champ, 11 All NBA team selections and '09 NBA scoring champ...The guy is top 10 shooting guard All Time, and unlike Deng last season he still posted 18.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.8apg. Not to mention, the main burden of Deng's contract is its length, and D-Wade is not on the market for a 4 year deal at 35. He also knows Lakers preserve space for 2018, so if he comes it'd be a 1 year deal

Be nice if the Bulls would trade him and take Deng back instead of buying him out.. Can add Clarkson to the trade for taking Deng. Highly unlikely but wishful thinking to get rid of Deng. If Magic/Rob plan to trade JC anyways, why not attach Deng... Wish Bulls would do they probably would not.

All that sounds great but it's all in the past....period.

His averages I posted are from last season, and since Bulls were in the playoffs - we're talking 4 months old stats...He's not gonna deep much from that, especially in the right system. He would have been Lakers' best scorer last season with those numbers, 2nd best assist guy and also someone, who can generate his own shot at the end of the game. If Vince Carter can be productive at 40 - there is no reason why D-Wade cannot do that at 35. Given playtime he'll still be 18/5/5 player, which is better than anyone on the Lakers roster. I'm not saying he's a great fit or that Lakers should sign him - just making a point comparing him to Deng is pretty damn wrong. He's in a different class.

Yo that's my take on it. It ain't going to change brotha. No need to go back and forth with it. I feel the way I feel and you feel the way you feel. Leave it there.

At this point in his career he is looking for a payday or chasing rings. The Lakers offer neither. Let him sit on another teams injured list. The young core should be getting minutes not a vet coming to the end of his career. If Lou Williams wasn't a fit on this roster, how the hell is Wade?

Not trying to change your mind, but he'd be on a buyout, meaning he'd be signing for very cheap, considering he'd still be getting most of his money from the Bulls. So it wouldn't be like Deng and his contract.

But yeah, both are old and passed their primes.

It wouldn't bother me. But what would be the point? I see nearly no upside to signing Wade, aside from he's a good example to the young guys. But we already have Hart, Clarkson and KCP at SG. So it's not like he's filling a hole. Wade wouldn't make us much better, certainly not into anything near a contender. He wouldn't be here long term. He'd just take a roster spot from a young player and take playing time away from other young players. We've got veteran presence. Don't see the point to signing him.

Stop with the old stars already. Dung was enough.

Why are the Lakers the place old players come to retire? Anywho I thought Wades was having heath issues the last couple years and we went that route with Steve Nash.

Pointless conjecture. He'll do a one year deal with CLE. They might pick up Bosh cheap as well. Reunite the former big 3. All at bargain prices. After that it will all come down to how they do this season, and resigning them will be based on where LBJ goes, if he leaves.

Thank you!!!!!

Let's hope Wade and Bosh join Labrawn in Cleveland

Heard Ramona Shelbourne said James' camp finally came out and said he's not going to LA.

Lol, that's funny. I just heard her yesterday say on "The jump" chances are high that he's is going to one of the LA teams.

But good , he can stay where he's at, but than again, it's not up to us. Lol

Interesting. I didn't hear HER say it. I heard that she said it. So maybe I misunderstood or the radio host was wrong.

JJ, I think the biggest thing is PG13, LBJ haven't came out and said themselves that they're not going anywhere. Saw where they asked PG13 a week ago about Lakers, and he said "we'll see" , when asked if he's still coming.

Think between Kobe retiring, and new management, players are looking at LA again. Now it's up to young guys to step up this season, and draw FA's.

Oh don't worry we shall also find a way to get Amare Stoudamire and Jerry Stackhouse to join him. Super team!!!

Lmao!!!

They'd have to pay him, he'd have to come off the bench, he would make KCP semi pointless, Clarkson would be third string, the chemistry would be mangled, he's an East Coast style player, he has no future in LA and cannot win a championship here, the notion of mentoring is mostly hooey (only useful for playoff experience), he won't lure LeBron to LA, if he goes to OKC they will play for the championship he wants, he's 35 and has no history here so who cares.... just no!

I cannot think of one reason to bring D Wade to LA...

With Anthony in OKC, they have a strong trio and will be very competitive. I see no reason to bring George to LA given our own core of very very talented forwards and I doubt he will want to leave anyway. What would happen to Ingram if George did come to the Lakers? He would go to the bench in his third season? He'd become a 7'-0" (rumor has it) shooting guard?

Here we go again, let’s hope Wade goes someplace else. I’m looking forward to seeing the young guys playing and what KCP can do. I’m not so sure that Wade makes since now that the Lakes have KCP. Maybe the idea is that Wade will attract other old dudes to the team.

Unfortunately Skyeword, these teams are in the business to win right now. So if PG13 or LBJ want to be Lakers, they will be. Imo

But it sounds like he might stay, if you read this article. But what else is he going to say to new fan base. Lol

Don't worry, he's going to CLE to play with his boy. Just read on B/R that CLE said he can start if he comes.

He's not coming and do not want

D-Wade will join the BIG3 league.....
