It remains to be seen just what D’Angelo is. Insiders say immaturity remains
an issue, as do party lights, even if he didn’t out any more teammates for
infidelity this season.
For all the Lakers’ devotion to “our young players,” Coach Luke
Walton is said to have tired of post-adolescent hijinks. I didn’t hear who,
specifically, he was down on, but the one he likes best is Brandon Ingram, the
youngest of them.
Other young Lakers might be expendable, the more so with Magic expected to make a run at
Indiana’s Paul George, a 2018 free agent whom the Pacers are open to moving
for prospects … such as, say, D’Angelo.

More than the lakers, he seems to have lost favor with the fanbase. I still think he has
several layers to his game which could be unleashed with the addition of another
complimentary backcourt component. The Ball/Dlo combo is what I'm hoping to see
when all the dust has settled.

I've been high on Russell since he was drafted for obvious reasons. The dude can ball out.
Asides from KAT, he is the most naturally talented player in his draft class. But his
immaturity has always been more pronounced than his draft-mates, and it annoys me
and plenty of others as I've seen. I still think he can be a star but he needs to
continue to put in work and be more disciplined during rough times. That's all it
really is for him, he's shown flashes of greatness, and it's saying something when
his two seasons thus far he's clearly ahead of many star guards at that stage in their
careers, yet to us he's underachieving. I wouldn't give up on him just yet, he hasn't
plateaued as of yet.
The article was really about Lavar and his craziness and Lonzo. I guess we can sit here
and parse out the Russell part and his immaturity (whatever that means). Yet all I
see is good play for a kid (with inconsistency) and with numbers that compare
favorably To other guards in their second season. If his only issue is immaturity,
I'll take that if he can play vs a mature player who can't play.
😀"
Kid is talented... if he gets hot and in a zone he can light it up... as we all already know,
he's a SG that played PG... with good passing skills... He's more of a spot up and
shoot guy
But the immaturity and the Nick You gang fiasco... might have sealed his fate. Not many
guys want to play with a snitch. . I think they would deal him given the
opportunity

Yeah, there are 2 sentences speculating about Russell and how Walton may or may not be a
fan. Unreal.

You gotta think about it man, these coaches are around these players a lot. Luke is not An
old coach so he still has a pulse on the younger generation. He knows D-Lo well now and
knows what he does on and off the court. Maybe he doesn't see that "eye of the
tiger" will to be great out of D-Lo. Add in the immaturity issues. Who knows, it
could be a few other things we have no idea about .

I just don't get why fans and media keep bringing up the Nick Young situation. Nick
doesn't and heck he has moved on and already has a kid with another woman. Current
teammates appear to like him on the court and even copy his celebration (see game
winner in Russell's last shot of season).
Was there a poll of 'not many guys want to play with a snitch' I missed.

I know he's not kobe, but he's a human being who made a mistake and every human deserves
a 2nd chance. Kobe was part of some more serious transgressions in life, but we never
held it against him and eventually moved on. This not some street gang with codes and
stuff, this is the NBA.
And DLo was barely 20. And this unfortunate episode only happened once and hopefully
this was the turning point or awakening in his life. A snitch is someone who
repeatedly does these things and where there is a pattern which has clearly been
established.
It's crazy how we hold others to such high standards which we ourselves refuse to follow
in our own lives. We have one of the weakest and most fickle fanbases in the league.
See how other teams and fans in the league rally behind their players through thick
and thin....but especially during the lows.
PS: this could have happened to BI/Randle/JC and could even happen to our future pick.

Actually he thought Dlo was a good player ,that could develop into something, and he was just
repeating on what he was hearing from other "Current" players. Also as I
mentioned MWP said while things were better , thing with Swaggy still had players
having trust problems with Dlo. But I personally could care less about that, I'd be

If Dlo was some star rookie that came into league like AD, Lillard or Wiggins. We
wouldn't even be talking about this. Fans would have told Swaggy to shut up , and
wanted him traded right than and there. Shame how that works!!!

Swaggy and Dlo had the best chemistry on the team last season. Swaggy had a great start to the
season since Dlo was always looking for him. Swaggy even went live on air and
congratulated Dlo on his breakout game. Seems like Swaggy himself has gotten over
it, but the other saints with high standards still have their panties in a knot.

Do u remember the game vs the Rockets at Staples when DLo made a 3 and yelled out
"This is my $hit!!!!"?.........Well this is the issue that I have with
him. This is not his team to claim since he hasn't accomplished anything yet. If he
doesn't humble himself he will probably end up with the Nick Van Exel exit off the
team if he can't get over the new no 2 pick being the leader along with Ingram. I will
agree that DLo is talented but he's just not a leader and way too cocky.... The kid
wouldn't listen to Popovich while on the USA Select team and never accepted the
offer from Magic last summer when Magic offered to mentor him. Smh. It also
irritates me with the way he answers media questions. With all that said I really
believe that DLo might be moved around this time next year to make the position
vacant for P George when he becomes available to sign with the Lakers as a free
agent.

This is Classic Los Angeles B.S., it's high school gossip and fake drama. It's fans
and critics looking for ANTYHING to move D-Russ when the real reason is that he's
mellow, just the opposite of childish or immature. Who is more immature than
Swaggy? It doesn't matter much because nobody is expecting more of Swaggy, but a
number two pick, if you smile, that means you are not taking your job seriously.
Clarkson is a bigger joker that D-Lo! It's all so tiresome and reminds me of all the
misinformation and lies that surrounded Bynum.
Drew was one of the hardest working players in the NBA but most people think, due to
gossip, that he was lazy and did not love the sport. He was the only honest and
outspoken player on the team and Kobe was ready to hand him the keys to the franchise
after his all star season, but a forearm to what's his name and he's immature and
banned forever. Shaq used to flatten out guards that stepped into his territory.
That's what bada** centers do. Imo, he was too honest for the NBA and got tired of the
B.S. just as I have. Now it's D-Russ' turn.
Byron Scott targeted him and continues to do so and far too many people that do not
think for themselves have adopted this opposition blindly, they prefer a hard
nosed player who is aggressive and the continue reuse of a forgotten issue against
D-Russ which was this nonsense with Swaggy, that was never proven to have been
D-Russ in the first place meaning that he's protecting the identity of who actually
did leak the tweet. He was amazingly composed his rookie season while Scott as
harassing him and
being....

I noticed that too which is also what happens to most men when then get older... Fans
forget that D-Russ would be going into his senior year in college were he not

Exactly, the facts and the gossip do not match, yet the gossip is being used to slander a
reputation, which was nothing more than a messenger. If I had a friend who was
cheating on his wife and I had a way to let the wife know, that would be a dilemma. Think
about. Imagine D-Russ had told her directly, would he be a snitch or someone's
protecting people he cared about? Imagine if one of the lakers got involved in
drugs. You say STOP to the player and then report it if they don't FOR THEIR BENEFIT!

I'm not a huge fan of meddling with someone else's business. Of course drug abuse and
cheating are wildly different problems. But D'Angelo and Nick were close friends
clearly, he doesn't really know Iggy from all indications. It's been clear as well
that DLo didn't release the video, and has said he had no idea how the video got out.
Nick also knew the video existed but it wasn't a problem till a month or two months
later when it leaked.
A mistake from a young player and a veteran who also can be considered young by life
standards. Honestly don't think this whole thing is as big a deal as people make it. I
think some players do feel a certain way about DLo, but things work itself out over
time. PG doesn't seem fazed by DLo's mistake

story.
But it's not snitching! He didn't tell everyone. The cops snitched. It's idiotic to
compare that to Russell. And THAT is why it was never that big of a deal with Kobe.
Something that got brought up every once in a while compared to Russell's being a
