New Lakers Topbuzz Banner Contest

Hey guys- with Dwight Howard gone, I would like to hold a contest for a new banner for LTB. Whoever designs the one I ultimately select will get receive a $25 Amazon.com Gift Certificate. Please feel free to submit your banner ideas/mock ups here. Constructive comments on the submissions are welcome by everyone as well. The contest will end by the end of Laker training camp for the 2013-2014 season, but could end sooner. BTW please keep in mind that key players may change so before the season starts, so I'd appreciate it if the winning designer....

^^There we go- you've got Nash, Kobe, and Gasol (in that order- correct me if I'm wrong). The color of the font matches the background color as well.

Nice, I think I'll submit mine... BTW, are there any rules? For example, the size must be 650x135, no? The logo can change? or must be the same?

Yup around there- a little smaller would be perfectly fine. It should be about a 5x1 ratio and then we can re-size it down.

I'm not that great in digital editing but i will suggest an idea. instead of our players being featured why not the great retired laker players? something that is classic and can be atleast permanent for the time being. since the retired laker greats are very crucial to the lakers success. it can be mixed of Magic,Kobe,Wilt or Kareem something like that. just an idea. and you could set a timeframe for each logo maybe 2 years after you can replace another banner what do you think?

I mention this before they made the sign they have up. Love to see guys who built what the Lakers are today.

That's a good idea- I'm definitely open to having the Laker greats in the banner, either exclusively or mixed in with the newer players.

it would be nice if it was in chronology order like in West in 50's follow with Chamberlain MAgic,Kareem,Shaq.etc.

i like it but think of it that the point of emphasis are today players. Kobe,Pau and Nash. and the laker legends are kind of blur or faded in a sense. so it symbolizes like they are in the past. and the point of emphasis are those 3 that are still playing for our lakers. but it was a nice one and I'm glad the idea helped.

Wow- very impressive banners there ArtJmnz and KobeForGOAT. I really like those- I might just end the contest early and pick one of those the winner. Let's see if anyone else will submit something in the next week or so. For now you two are the heavy favorite to win- good job guys!

i think it would be better if it can be a one month deadline. since the season won't be starting to early. but Dave you be the judge! lol

I was thinking about this, but wasn't very sure.. Now I see it wasn't a bad idea after all...

This one -- but with with 8 trophies on either side of the narrative, for the sake of Visual Balance. And a bit of space separating "Lakers" & "Topbuzz". Right now they look like one straight word.
