Moderator Guidelines for Closing a Topic/Moving to Trash (P. 2)

Not sure if I'm one of the people on your ignore list and you can't see this but really nice post. I hope this isn't taken as sarcasm but this thread is starting to get therapeutic. In a good way. Everyone is being honest and clearing the air. I think this is good for the forum.

Haha, no you are definitely not one of the members on my ignore list. On the contrary I think you're a great poster and didnt understand why you were ever banned or threatened of being banned.

This site has gone through so much, the good and the bad (mostly bad recently), that i think it brought us Lakers fan together and made us more resilient. More than anything, i love how the moderators of this site were able to handle matters the right way. I applaud all of the mods for staying on top of this site by enforcing the rules and regulations and at the same time making sure this site is a place where we can converse about the Lakers or just the game of basketball in general. Speaking of which, i want to congratulate the new mods MrMojo and Mamba247. Both are fantastic people and are more than deserving of the title. Once again, congratulations!!!

Lastly, lakeshowsd i would hate for you to leave this site for good or give up your moderator status. You are one of the most cerebral posters on this site and i truly enjoy reading your posts. Please do not stop posting or give up your moderator status. You have done a phenomenal job regulating the site the right way. Without you, along with other members that i respect and admire, this site would feel empty.

BTW DAVE! Someone wanted to shame my publically like a Samurai getting his hair shaved.... and removed my Stars and title below my name ; (. This has left me emotionally fragile and confused. Who will help me restore my image???

Well, this is directed to Steve mostly, but I want it to be understood also as a general position.

To be one of a group of Moderators, is not the same thing as being elected officials in some sort of representative government. This is not a democracy.

I stated my position previously about one user, but this should not be construed as a vote one way or another on an issue.

If any Moderator in the future sees grounds for banning any member on this site, then I will not gainsay that decision. If a decision is made, then I will support the Moderator that has decided his action in merit. Perhaps the problem in this case is that too many opinions were asked beforehand.

I would also suggest to Dave, if it is possible, that there is a forum provided accessible only to members having Moderator access. A place in which to discuss amongst ourselves. I find it to be non-productive the insertion of regular members in this sort of discussion. If we have the need to come up with collective positions, then the proceedings amongst ourselves should not be within the vigilant purview of non-moderators. Again, I repeat, this site is not, nor should it be considered to be a democracy.

Again, to Steve, as far as I can ascertain you have been an exemplary Moderator. If you give me a fait accompli, I will back your prerogative to the hilt.

As Moderators, it is not our function to judge the decisions made by single Moderators, that is the function of only one person, Dave.

LSD....why renounce? You are still one of the best mods and posters on the site!

Thanks to everyone for the feedback on this issue. I still have some reservations, but I've decided to resume my moderator duties at the behest of Dave.
