Have you ever seen anything weird?

Lakers Forum » Everything Else
Since there are so many people here, I would ask the question, have any of you seen anything weird? Last night, I went on my back porch and saw a very bright, white light hanging in the air far off in the sky. Stars were out, but this thing was much larger and way brighter than a star. It just stayed there, suspended, making no noise and not moving. I watched it for a few minutes then went back inside. It brought back memories of something that happened to me long ago. When I was about 12 years old, my and my brother (two years older than me) were sitting on the porch on summers evening. It was on the second floor of a farmhouse. A huge yard was in front of us, then a large field, followed by wooded hills. It was near dark. We were just relaxing and talking and looking out over the wide expanse of country side. Then, glowing ball, shot up from behind the hills and zipped right between us on the porch and a tree in our yard, about 50 yards out. It was just this orange/red, glowing ball about the size of a basketball. It traveled from behind the hill and past us so fast, the whole event took no more than a couple seconds. So fast, in fact, that I wondered if I had actually seen it. I sat there for a few seconds, digesting what I had thought I had seen. I decided to ask my brother if he had seen it. I did not want to place any thoughts or suggestions in his mind, so I simply said, "Did you just see something?" And he replied, "Yeah, a little orange ball just flew right through the yard." Well, that answered one question for me. I had seen something odd. In....

I have. I remember when I was little, I saw this beautiful "galaxy" type thing or whatever up in the sky, without a telescope. It was huge.... I just wish I could see it again. The whole block was outside their homes, just staring up.

But thats the closest to weird, Ive ever seen.

I've never seen anything of the E.T. sorts, but I have had a few paranormal things. The freakiest was this past weekend, my buddy and I heard about this park in Harbor City with a duck pond. Supposedly the Devil appears there and people can sell their souls to him. He appears to be a normal person, but is very well mannered and well dressed. Well I called BS, and we went down there. As we got to the park, it was pitch black, with no lamps or lights, and the duck pond was kind of deep into the park as well. The whole time we're walking on the sidewalk looking for the shortest way to the pond, my buddy starts whining and complaining about how bad of an idea this is and how he doesn't want to go through with it. I just ignored him and kept looking. I'll admit the setting was very eerie too, I was actually more afraid of getting stabbed or shot than meeting the Devil. So we're walking along the sidewalk and all of a sudden, everything gets a little too quiet. I turn around to see that there are no cars going down the street behind me, I just took it as a coincidence and started to walk towards the park, mind you the whole time my buddy is still bitching about how scary it is and stuff. We walk to the end and see nothing, no entrance and this pond is huge! I finally get tired of hearing my friend talk about how scary the park is and how many gangs and homeless people are in there and said, "Okay, screw it, let's go back to the car." We're still pretty close to the park and we start walking the opposite way, back to the car. The....

^ MrMojo, leading people to Satan.

A true metalhead.

Haha. LTB field trip.

LOL Mojo thats a crazy story...I wouldnt want to go haha

Whoa.. I am definitely going to check this place out in the future, lol. Stuff like this always gets me thinking and sounds pretty creepy.

Anyways, I want to share some weird things that happen to me. One time, about a year ago, I was in my room all alone in the house. Now, I remember this clearly. It was a summer day , one of those warm days, and there was absolutely no breeze or wind. I was on the computer, when all of a sudden I heard a door shut slam. It was my parent's room that slam shut. All windows were closed at the time.. No wind. My mind went blank, as I was shitting myself. I swear someone was inside the house outside myself. At the time , I had no pets, nothing. Just me at the house. I thought someone went into my mom's room. I was shaking so hard. I don't even remember trying to call 911.. I took my baseball bat and slowly walked toward my parent's room. I had no balls to open the door, as it slammed shut. But I did it really slowly. Fortunately, there was nothing there.

Now, I don't know what that was.. No wind, nobody in the house.. Can someone explain this? Has this ever happened?

noname24,

Strange story. Thats definately creepy. I think there are experts who would give you an explaination as to what caused it. Not saying they are correct, but they could come up with one. My hair would have been standing on end if I experienced what you did.

As for the lake Mojo went to. If I lived there I would go to it. I don't believe in Satan or any of that stuff. But just the legend of the lake would make me go, just for fun. As to what happened with Mojo? While hair raising because of the legend, I don't think it was anything mystical from the things he described. When you are already on edge, things that can be viewed as normal in another milleu can take on a sinister bent. I suspect the man on the bench smoking was just that- a man on a bench smoking. I don't blame Mojo for leaving, because the man on the bench could have been trouble, I mean who knows what he was like? Once I had gone as far as Mojo into my lake investigation, I would have gone up to the 'bench man' and sat right next to him. But that's me.

3Peat,

Wow. What you saw sounds amazing. I would love to have seen what you did. You are lucky you got to witness that, whatever it was.

Similar things have happened to me in my house and also my friend's house. Both my brother and I have been locked out of the house while being home alone.

When it happened to me, I was outside feeding my dog and glanced through the screen door, I saw a an outline of someone cooking something at the stove and assumed it was my brother. After I fed the dog, I went to open the door and both locks were latched. I went and grabbed the spare key and opened the door. I went straight to my brother's room and no one was there, after that I walked all over the house only to find that I was alone. lol, When it happened to my brother, the door slammed on him and he was too freaked out to go in.

Then at my friend's house, we heard someone scream (but could have been a cat, they can sound odd sometimes) and walked over to his back door and it was wide open. He made me close the door because he was too afraid to close it himself -_-

Lol SPQR, you're crazy!

The main problem I had with approaching the person in the park was that it could very well be someone that was armed and dangerous and I had nothing. But I definitely would go again, this time without that sissified friend, though with my luck I'd probably accidentally sell my soul for a stick of Doublemint chewing gum.

Crazy.

Quote:
aka Duck Pond Its been said that at this park you can sell your soul to the devil and as a matter of fact its been also said that there was a "rap singer" that sold his soul and became real famous. They say that the devil comes to you in the best of manner and has a very pleasant smell.

Mojo,

Lol, I have been called crazy by my friends before. I have done some things in life many others would not. I am not afraid of much because I am too curious, lol.

I wish I lived near you. We would hook up, leave your more timid friend behind, go to the lake on a late night, examine the lake and surrounding area and do our level best to call the Devil to come to us. It sounds like fun to me.

I went to that link. It was interesting that story about the rap singer who supposedly sold his soul at the lake. It sounds like a updated version of the story circulated back in the day about the 20s and 30s Blues singer legend Robert Johnson; who as the tale goes, sold his soul to the Devil at a certain rural crossroads located in the deep south in order to obtain his abundant guitar skills.

Like the lake, that crossroads was reputed to be piece of real estate that one could summon Old Scratch if you wanted to make a 'trade'.

Like say if you were an ambitious basketball coach, and wanted to win say 11 or more rings and go down as the greatest coach of all time. You would go to one of those places, call up Satan, and proceed with your Faustian bargin.

I don't even know what I would wish for. Super powers would be awesome! I'll end up going again, just to see what's going on over there at that lake. Who knows! I may run into Noname there.

Didn't they make a movie about Robert Johnson, Ralph Macchio was in it right? I actually think it was called Crossroads.

Mojo,

Yes, there was a referance to Johnson in the Macchio movie and several others. If you and Noname go there, you guys need to keep me posted on what you find. I wish I could go with you. It would be a fun, unusual way to spend a night.

Well, I went out drinking last night and when I fell asleep, I had a dream about the park. lol, It beckons me! I'll end up going sooner than later.

Bump.

So I was supposed to meet my buddy at his job in San Pedro after work, and I put the coordinates into my GPS. As I'm driving on the 405, I notice a lot of familiar sites and just took into account that I was going the right way and just kept listening to my GPS. I didn't realize where I was until I was right across the street from Harbor City Park, which isn't too odd because it's about 5 miles away from my friend's job. The weird thing was though, that my GPS insisted the destination had been reached. I literally shat bricks. I didn't get out and go in just because I didn't want to be late to meet my buddy.

Holy balls.

I'm sorry you had to shït bricks, must have hurt.

I used to hear knocking on doors and windows in the middle of the night when I was younger. I used to jump out of bed and tip toe to the blinds and peer out. One night someone was turning the doorknob violently and when I went to do my ritual, there was nobody there.. but I have OCD and turrets... who knows what else is wrong with my head.. could have been going insane.

I do hear voices frequently when I'm in the shower. The voices always sound loud and angry like somebody is arguing or something. When I get out I check to see if any of my roommates are home and they never are. After spending way too much time with psychologists and other people of that sort, I had vowed to never go to those types again. So I guess I'll never really know all of the things i suffer from mentally but I don't really mind. It's what makes me... me. I have long thought that I may suffer from the beginning stages of Schizophrenia. The people who are closest to me probably wouldn't doubt it. The thought scares me and I try to rid myself of the idea but the symptoms I have are very real. Its the one factor that makes me want to go against my word and talk to a professional. I'm not really sure why I shared this info...

^ you should just nonchalantly ask someone that lives in your house if they've ever seen anything weird. it's worth a shot. you might not be losin it!

One time earlier this year I saw what I thought was an orb on the side of my wall.. it was like it flashed when I looked to my right. Keep in mind my bed is around a foot away from the wall. In the middle of the night. IT was barely bright, but I am not sure what it was, I even thought I was hallucinating because I never thought I'd see that. I even thought it was my mind playing tricks on me. Weird but I never saw it again. I am all good now. But it was something that freaked me out for a bit

@ mr mojo, One of my cousins went to that lake you described. He said he was halfway in the park when all things that happened to you happened to my cousin. Probably the most terrifying thing he said was as he was standing near the duck pond he heard an evil laugh

He never went back to that park since

My weird thing happened when I was about 13 or 14 years ago. I was up in the foothills above my house with a childhood friend. We were jumped rocks down in a canyon stream above a waterfall, I was maybe 10 to 15 yards ahead of him and kept looking back over my left shoulder to see if he was alright and keeping up. The canyon was narrow and the mountain wall was to my right. As I went to look back, Maybe for the 4th time, I felt a head jerk me back from the right. I turned around and noticed my left foot was about to step off the top of the waterfall, it was about a 70 to 80 foot drop. Thinking my friend had caught up to me, I turned to right to thank him, there was nobody there. He was still about 10 yards behind me. To this day if someone were to ask me if I believe in angels, Yes I most definitely do!!!!

^^Whoa that is a cool story kkennon- thanks for sharing! We were very happy that you did not fall thanks to the angel!

Yeah, me too!!! Lol. Thanks Dave.

I will say when I was a young man in college many moons ago, I was nearing the end of my education and was very frustrated with what would life be after college. I had been on numerous interviews with no call backs and it just seemed hopeless at the time that I would find a job. One day while I was on work study, and this was a very busy day, people were everywhere walking and driving around campus, a lady out of nowhere walked up to me and said I since something's troubling you. I said huh. She repeated and said I since something's troubling you. So we started talking and I told her about my frustrations. She grabbed my hands and said let me pray for you. So I closed my eyes, bowed my head and let her pray for me. We're in public and it seemed no one was around at the time. After she prayed for me, she told to come meet her and group of people at a hotel lobby not to far where I was working after I got off work. Well I took her up on it and when I got to the hotel, it was condemned and being torn down. As I replayed everything that had happened, I knew that had to be an angel from above, at least that's what I believe and will continue to believe til the day I die. Something I'll never forget.

Very cool story. Well done

Yeah, I've seen something weird. This team right now!!!! Lol

That would have weird

I just noticed this. That's an amazing story Pete. You sure you didn't get the wrong address J/K Wink. When you really needed it you got that little boost you needed- that's awesome.
