How do I create/add a pic for my own avatar?

does anyone know how to create an avatar of your own????

yeah dude find a pic you like. Right click it and select properties. get the URL and upload it as your avatar. Let me know if that doesnt work

not without getting on your profile. Just save a picture to your pictures folder on your computer and then click browse. Click on the picture and it should be your avatar

this kind of crap never works for me...

Also remember that there's a size & dimensions limit if you want to upload your own avatar. It may be better to go into the gallery, pick the thumbnail of the picture you like, copy the image location, and paste it into the "Link to off-site Avatar:" text box in your forum profile.

I did it with my Farmar av but now i cant get any pic to be the right size.

I think somebody should really reduce the maximum size of the avatars. Some people are out of control!

Yeah I agree- some of those avatars need to shrink. Please feel free to let me know of the users with the giant avatars and I'll fix it. In fact I already see some that I'm going to have to remove.

Does anyone know why the avators are not uploading even though they are the right size? I having trouble uploading after I have deleted my first avator.

edit: i forgot to tell that when i tried an avatar from postnuke it worked, but when i tried to get from the gallery it ends up on that error..

It seems impossible to get more than a black and white postage stamp down to 11K and I am a computer designer by profession amongst other things! How are others getting these whopping big avatars that are clearly much larger than 11K and 200 x 200?

How are images places into the body of the text. Is this as simply as pasting a URL link? What if the image is on my computer rather than online somewhere. A little clarity here would be very much appreciated.

you need to host your image on a different site like glowfoto.com photobucket.com....ect

dripsta23 I tried that using Picasa but the URL link would not permit the upload. Tried it five times and gave up. Does the hosted image have to be a certain minimum size and dimension?

Some sites, hint hint, automatically resize the avatars and allow the user to drag the portion of the image they want into the viewable area. The size of the upload does not matter because it is converted automatically!

Just get the url of the picture (do you know how to do that?). Once you copy it, you go your profile and you'll see a small box where you can paste the url. Once you paste it, put these tags before and after. it.

So, it should look like this:

........... is where you would put the url. BUT, PLEASE try not to put too big signatures. There's some on this site that are too big.....
