LTB New Logo and Banner Contest

Hi guys- I've heard some suggestions that the site should have a new logo and banner. The logo would be squarish whereas the banner would be in similar proportions as the current one.

Personally I think we're okay with the existing banner but I guess we could go for something "cooler". So this is what I'm going to do- whoever can design a logo and a banner for the site that is voted by the members as the best set will get $50 from me.

So if you happen to be a graphics person and are interested please go ahead and post your submission here. When we get enough entries then we'll vote for the "best" one. Thanks everyone!

Sheesh, what does the logo matter? I barely even notice the top of the page because I scroll down quickly to get to the posts. Maybe that's just me who feels the logo is kind of a trivial issue.

I'm with gemfow on this one. When the proposal was sugggested, I had to go up to the top of the page to see what the logo we already have looks like. I really don't pay much attention to the logo. I mainly care about the threads, so I don't think changing the logo is really that necessary.

I think he's not talking about a banner, which is what we already have at the very top. A logo would just be a small graphic representing LTB.

A website is so much more than a banner. Users we want will not judge the site by the banner, but the content in the website.

i wanted to keep the same style of the banner but just with a lil update on it so heres what i gots

Man, I'm still working on mine, this is harder than I thought. Anyone know how to insert an artwork used on photoshop into here. I can't figure it out.

My Opinions: When I look at your banners / logos. I compare it to the original and see if I would rather keep the current logo or see if its just a side-step in replace logos or if it should replace the original. I also try to picture how the banner would look on the website and see if it matches. I also look at it from the attraction point of view. Because if logos and banners are supposed to attract viewers, does it do it's job? Magic Mamba: I think its a little too basic with just a picture and text. Maybe a little more photoshop. six.chris: It's a nice concept but, to me, it's not meshing well together. Its a little bit of the font selection, little bit of the consistency of picture quality. Some pics are good quality (Kobe), while Magic looks different. And then, "Lakers...where life happens" didn't really sound right to me. Good job. As for the Logo, I think the logo could be more exclusive to Lakers Topbuzz. Because a basketball with Lakers Topbuzz on it, any lakers discussion site could do that. I just think it would be more special if there was more freshness to it. El Honcho: Nice, I like yours. Banner that is lol. Nice and simple having the same qualities of the original banner with a little spice to it. The banner is nice and loud shouting "who we are and what we do" in it. So if some surfer had a second to spare and liked what it saw, it would click on the banner and enter the website. Because many surfers won't look at banners for a long time, it needs that quick attraction....
