FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK, IF WE DON'T F*CKING WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP I'M GOING TO GO ON A F*CKING RAMPAGE!!!!

LOL... Yeah... If we don't f*cking win the championship I'M GOING TO CELEBRATE ON THE STREETS OF L.A. LIKE WE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP LAST YEAR.... AND THE YEAR BEFORE....
This thread seems appropriate right now.
So....Mike Brown, I thought you were supposed to be a defensive specialist. Whats going on???? Can't stop any kind of penetration. Our wing players are a revolving door right now. What happened to that defense we played last year???!?!?!
seemed la could not catch a damn break tonight i bet all the other NBA teams are loving seeing this right now, skip bayless and steven a smith are gonna be talking all kind of crap tomorrow, very worried about our bench big time worried about our back up pg roll, dhoward looked better tonight but still seems alittle slow as does Kobe and damn i hope Nash is OK. WHAT A WAY TO START THE SEASON WITH THE LOSSES AND INJURY'S DAMN!
I really didn't like that he played the starters so many minutes after playing yesterday and arriving at Portland at 2 in the morning.
What's got me really worried is:
1) Nobody wants to see LeBum win another ring, and we're the best shot of preventing that from happening (on paper at least)
2) If this team continues to play horribly (or even mediocre - say 4th in the West) then how the hell do we expect to keep D12 happy and wanting to sign long-term???
Like I said in the gameday thread, the silver-lining at least is that D12 looks like a monster and he's not even 100% conditioned yet
Who will agree that if we change this team's coach, we will be successful

Princeton just isn't for this team IMO. I'd rather Nash run pnr with the bigs which I haven't really seen at all.
Posted this on a different thread but seems its more suited here.
Can someone please explain to me how mike brown is a good defensive coach? He mentions the word about every interview, yet I'm not seeing the results.
I'm angry and I'm going to sleep. Bye.
2 years ago, everyone was celebrating the fact that the big 3 in Miami were floundering. The first 20-30 games they sucked. THen they started getting better.
I am also worried about our squad. But we need to not hit the panic button yet. A LOT of changes took place in the off season and we've seen from the past that the Lakers take time to adapt to new situations. Several new players, or returning after partial seasons (J Hill), new asst coaches, Nash trying to run a half court set for probably the first time in his life. A lot to take in. It may not work, but like Miami, by the ASB they may just get it together. I'm giving it until then before I proclaim the experiment a bust.
If it does not go well DH12 will likely sign with Houston or Dallas. But that will save us a boatload of $ and we'll have some change to throw around.
My own concerns are about the coach more than anything. Biggest mistake was hiring him. Will be a shame if he can't get the team gelling and sticks around 2 more years and basically ruins Kobe's last chances at another ring. That will suck. They need to let this team run this early in the season. Let Nash run the p+r. They can work in a half court set when it comes closer to the playoffs. As appropriate. But the top teams meanwhile are run and gun teams, and we can't beat them with this current brand of offense. I've never seen Nash stand at the top of the key before holding the ball over his head for 3-4 seconds, telegraphing his pass to the other team. In classic recent Lakers fashion. He is best when he's in motion. Not standing still.
in our past games, we lost on Turnovers and free throws, one problem with Turnovers it will make your defense looked very bad. because we are the older team so running will be tiring for us. Turnovers would be the key.FAst breaks are the most fastest and easiest points so it will led to more points to the opposing teams and it will make our defense looked very bad because it will give more points to the opponents. this guys will capitalize our turnovers and we are done, one more problem i see is our bench rotations and the coach for overusing his star players. the coach needs to find combinations, i do think we have decent bench. just getting the right mix will fix this. poor bench leads to more minutes for the starters. I would be happy if Kobe would sit on his injury but we need him now on the court. But at the same time I'm more worried with his minutes so much. Coach better reduce these guys minutes. It's getting on my nerves.
I do think we will hit stride and win games. I know some of you are mad but this is expected. How many new players do we have on this team? Dwight,Nash,Meeks,Jamison,Hill ( just last March) and so on. this is not easy. I've been part of a basketball team seriously. this might not be an NBA-caliber team I've on, but having the concept of unfamiliarity and not knowing each others plays is very difficult. one another will have to adjust to the attitudes and their games. I'm seeing bit of improvement game by game. I thing i worried about is our minutes and Injuries, our key would be continuity and having complete pieces on our roster. I'm fine losing us now than later, it more of a problem if we lose later than early.
one thing i suggest is moving MWP on the bench he seems to slow to grasp some kind of offensive system even the much more complicated Triangle of course he didn't get it. we need youth and speed at the wing and i think with Ebanks given a chance and consistency he will strive and grab this opportunity of his.
I don't mind that idea. Also I personally like the idea of more mix ups in the front court. Start Howard and Hill. Use Pau as the top sub for both. He essentially comes off the bench.
I fear otherwise the 2 towers will not co-exist well again. And we need bench strength. He would still get lots of minutes. But get the younger quicker more agile Hill in there. Ebanks for MWP to start I like. Mix it up Mike....

yeah i like the idea of Pau coming off the bench... i thought of that too. but the problem is it's embarrassing if a 19 mil guy is sitting on the bench.. it's a better idea if we just trade him. even with him more minutes... a sixth man can't have 19 mil salary.. it's too much.
I know it, but he would still be a semi starter, or at least get starter minutes, until Sacre comes along. And our bench needs help. A "bench" of Pau, Jamison, MWP, Meeks and Blake would be pretty good (other than Blake, but at least he does play hard, give him credit for that) with well defined rolls. Less of a bottle neck starting 2 bigs....
^^ yup i agree. it's just his salary to me and being a bench guy. and let's see if Mike Brown has a guts to move this guy on the bench. but i will not worry Pau i do think he will be much more comfortable with the bench.the bench and him is much better playing with Princeton, he really strive on that system.
And BTW does anybody now, which player are available in the Free Agency? i would not mind taking Al Thornton that guy is athletic and strong and Johnny Flynn just in case Blake and Ebanks didn't work out. does anybody have any news? i wouldn't mind Arenas , the offense just stumble when Steve Nash was out. i thought this guy could help and has a very good relationship with Dwight talk about planking on the court. LOL
Mluvíte česky? Máte českou vlajkou na vašem profilu.
LOL i got nosebleed on that one
Brown+ cash considerations for Gregg Popovich
if he could make David Robinson and Tim Duncan work, he could do the same with Dwight & Pau lol
Frustration time. Howard was absolutely beasting whoever tried to guard him. However I noticed that Kobe was trying to interject himself because well no one was doubling Dwight so shots weren't going to anyone else, so what. Lakers were inching closer and then we were able to see Kobe shoot something like a 27 foot air all afte r calling for a Gasol screen. Kobe also tried to take Matthews to the rim and put up some bad layups. Kobe may have had 25 or whatever but when the Lakers were coming closer he picked the wrong time to go into Black mamba mode who just doesn't have the fangs he use to.
I think too many people are trying to lay defensive blame on Brown which is ridiculous. My problems with Brown are playing older starters so many minutes and kissing starters butts, letting them dictate how much time they play at times.
Brown doesn't have a defensive scheme that allows offensive rebound after offensive rebound, to my knowledge no coach does. What coach develops a defensive scheme of not rotating to one three point shooters? A defensive coach can't turn back the clock and 30+ year old legs. What defensive coach has a scheme to combat offensive turnovers that lead to fast breaks? My venting is towards ridiculous fans jumping on a proven defensive coach's defense when they ignore everything else like turnovers, old legs trying to guard young legs, not boxing out and so forth. My frustration is with lakers fans always on a witch-hunt for a coach they never approved of.
Can someone please explain to me how mike brown is a good defensive coach? He mentions the word about every interview, yet I'm not seeing the results.
Well I talked to my friend who is a huge Lebron and followed the Cavs closely when Brown was the coach and he said that Brown has the impression of looking like a good defensive coach when he really isn't. He and I believed that Lebron was literally that whole team's defense. All my friend saw in Cleveland was the bigs clogging the paint and have Lebron get the chasedown block if the opposing team was on a fast break.
^^^. Dundie2K: do you know how crazy that sounds? Brown had Cleveland playing good team defense, their rotations were great, there was hustling to cover guys and it was a good scheme of playing the pick and roll and recovering, even with a slow guy like Ilgauskas there. It was the same in San Antonio. You know what's interesting? Phil Jackson had that Chicago team playing great defense when he was there but it was never really the case in LA, it was play defense when they wanted to. At some point some of you guys will have to put it on the players.
Two games in, I am not panicking or spazzing..not a finished product by any means coming out of preseason camp, new parts and so on and so forth. Championships are not won after 2 new season games. Not gonna beat a dead horse, I expect us to be right there, we are the Lakers. And the offense is making strides, as we get that in tune with the defense and make some progress, guys get a feel for each other and stop overthinking and tryna make the "perfect play" and look out for one another and just play the game, we will be fine. I surmise we will be right where we are supposed to be. Not #1 but def not last place. When the playoffs roll around, we will be in the mo-effn house! Believe that. These guys are pros, not dummies, they know how to play the game. Trust & believe.
I hate Mike Brown's rotations!
we have the 2 best defenders of the NBA, the best offense-executer player of the NBA and we cannot play neither good defense nor good offense. Steve Nash has averaged 4.6 assists since the preseason, playing almost the same time he used to play in Phoenix last year where he had 10.sth assists...Zero improvement during the last month, bad rotation choices, players on wrong positions, bad minute allocations, many turnovers, lack of motivation, lack of general plan and team identity. Don't you see its MB who cannot handle this team well?
The next thing they are going to tell you is that we still have a chance for this team to gel - our record is only 0-55. "Just give it some more time."
I don't like his scheme much, but if he is giving Nash freedom to do what he wants on the Offense and Nash has 4 assists that's not his fault. Not his fault Meeks, Jamison haven't showed up in LA, not his fault guys were injured and had little time to play together, not his fault Dwight missed so many FTs in the first game, not his fault Kobe had 0 assists w the best Front-court in the NBA by far while Harden had 12 w the worst front-court. We need depth. Pietrus and K Mart. Some fire off that bench
I like it! We need fire off of the bench and we need to fire the guy holding down the end of the bench. Incompetence is its own reward.
We need fire of the bench and to build chemistry. It's tough but when the Heat were 9-8 ppl wanted Spo fired. It takes time. I'm pretty pissed off, but I'm looking at the bright side. We have a beast at the Center position! And yes I'm in favor of trading Gasol along w Blake, Ebanks and 2nd round pick for Harris and Josh Smith. Gasol's time is done here. Not blaming him, just don't think he is really a 4. He is more of a 5
Not gonna happen in LA. Not in the middle of the season. Too many changes. We just made the perfect team, remember? These guys are not going to be happy if they have to start over in the middle of the season. It's more likely that we will inhabit the celler. Well, maybe we will get draft picks again.
he isn't giving the freedom to Nash since he hasn't incorporated pick n roll games which is Nash's best technique...for Meeks and Jamison, I haven't seen a single play to make a spot up 3point shoot for our best bench shooter while Jamison is playing 3 and not in his natural postition the 4. Not his fault guys were injured, but his fault that they don't seem to get the team's offense scheme, not his fault Dwight missed so many FT but his fault that we ended at a point to must score the FTs in order to comeback due to our bad defence and bad offense. At the moment, more than Depth we need someone to make use of what we have, which is not for a 0-10 losses with worse opponents
He didnt have a choice. Look at the bench: Ebanks 2points, Hill 1 point, Blake 7 points, Jamison 2 points, Meeks 3 points, Duhon 0. The talent is just not there on the bench, and because of that the starters are in there longer than need be. This team needs depth fast or the season is done. Even if the starters play their best those minutes are going to wear those bodies down. There's no coaching style or technique thats going to change the main defficiency here.
Lakers are so inconsistent playing with energy. They play when they want to. This has been going on for at least 3 seasons. It's like they say "ok let's start playing with a sense of urgency now." ....That should be done for 48 minutes or at least while they're out there. To be honest a lot of penetration is just plain lazy defense. I watched the blazers/lakers game twice and every time someone would penetrate everyone(including dwight) would just stand there and watch the floater go in or get psyched with a kick out pass. I don't know if there's something we don't know about but they're not playing hard.
110%
Allen iverson anyone? lol
Delonte, Pietrus and K.Mart available and here we have Earl Clark, Duhon and Odom. Get serious. Trade them for something and add someone please
110%
Jim Buss was convinced to change his mind about Bynum so maybe he can be convinced again with regards to the coach. Byron Scott please....
I dont understand why everyone complains about the bench. Fist off, coach clown gives them inconsistent playing time. In the first game, Meeks got got the majority of the playing time and in the second game, he barely played four minutes. In addition to that, our bench players don't get nearly the same amount of pt as other bench players do. For some reason, coach clown is incapable of making adjustments during games. When a player gets rolling, he still decides to take him out of the game, because he decided the rotations beforehand. As long as this idiot is at the helm, we are not going to win Jack ****!!
i no Brandon Jennings and his team does not want to sign an extension you think he is someone we could look at?

I agree. Brown has regressed ALOT and blaming the bench for his miscues isn't the way to go. I don't think we should panic, but I am curious as to when the FO decides enough is enough as far as the mounting losses. Ebanks looked ready to contribute in pre-season and then the see saw game with his time is odd. As well as using his players in the wrong positions.(e.g playing Hill at the four,Jamison at the three.) I guess we will see. Not alot of coaches out there except for Nate McMillan...maybe. We will see.
LOL i got nosebleed on that one
Oooops, different flag...lol. Almost same. Some weird thing about this site is sometimes (at least for me) when I look at some thread it shows everyone has the same flag as me, which is Czech Republic lol. Suddenly everyone is czech. Eventually it changes as I scroll around but yours didn't. So I thought maybe you're czech. Now I see it showing correctly. Almost same flag but not quite lol. Yeah czech language will give anyone a nosebleed for sure. heheh...sorry for the mix up...
^^that soooo hilarious til it actually makes sense to me at least but I am not GM for a reason!! lol I still think he has more game than what we have on the bench and probably equally as fast with that killer crossover..He can get to the FT last time I checked.. I was thinking about him the other day..He is younger than Fish so there's that..Cant see it happening though..
^^Thats true. Its like, let me just show up for the game cuz i am paid to be here. (Not true for every player ) but quite a few..Must suck to make a few million and play a kids game for a living....
I've said it elsewhere. Need to shake up the line up and balance it out more. I said it last year and the year before. I know it's not popular owing to his big salary but who cares, move Pau to the bench. MWP as well. He looks totally lost out there. He never could handle complex offenses.
Start DH12, Hill, Ebanks, Kobe, Nash. Bench is Pau, AJ, MWP, Meeks, Blake. Should distribute the scoring more evenly, and pt as well. Then can use the bench more. With Pau leading them they won't lose leads. No I'm not thrilled starting Ebanks, but there is no other option at that position. Put him in and see what he can do with minutes. If he aint got game then trade his azz and get K-Mart.
Coach brown has to go. I never liked his hiring.
He seems like a nice buy but he's a scrub coach for scrub teams. If you are milwaukee, cleveland, golden state, or the like, Coach brown is your man.
Brown is not a manager, he is a video analyst. He comes with a bag full of sayings and cliches out of a guide book. Thats it.
Teams with Huge talent and big personalities needs a big coach who can manage players, and understands how to get the most out of his major talent.
This princeton office is terrible, for any team really. But it feels like Brown just picked an offense with out even even looking at his roster. Now it's like he has the worlds best chess players on his team, and he's trying to make them play checkers.
To me, I can see the players want to play, they want to be excited and have fun, but they look so uncomfortable and not happy. Like Ralphie when he has to wear the Pink Bunny costume in Christmas Story.
So what to do?
Buss needs to accept what everyone else watching basketball see that Brown is not a good fit for this Lakers team. Get him out and bring in a coach that garners respect and can manage players. Run an offense that exploits our strengths and get back to winning.
Nate McMillian is available, Mike D'Antoni, any other strong coaches available?

Hill a starter? He is a great hustle guy to come off the bench.
Honestly, a brown firing and an interim position for eddie jordan wouldnt be that bad of an idea. It's not a big transition so it would have minimal impact. I like eddie jordan. He's an offensive coach too. Just an idea.
