Paul Gasol Interview Questions

Hey guys a sports writer from a newspaper in Spain called "La Vanguardia" would like to ask some of you fellow Laker fans about Pau Gasol to include in an upcoming article in the paper. Please PM me your email address by the end of the day if you would like him to email you the questions.

I don't know when the questions are coming, and I'm not sure if he'll contact all of you (I sent like 12 emails addresses to him). here is how i answered him:

When I found about Pau Gasol being traded to LA, I was

in total shock, but in a good way. We basically gave

up a big man who could play alright defense and a

promising point guard who wasn't even in the rotation

for an allstar who would fit in incredibly well in the

triangle offense.

My expectations for Pau's first game is that he will

get a huge standing ovation for at least a minute or

two. I think that Pau will do very well in his debut

and get us the win. My prediction is that he will get

the bulk of the shots because of Kobe's injury.

What surprises me is that Pau fits in with the team and

the triangle offense amazingly well even in his first

game with the team.

Pau brings leadership and basketball smarts to the

Lakers. I don't think this year because of all the

injuries, but I think Pau will ultimately bring the

Lakers a championship in the near future.

On another note, Since I live in AZ, I get to see the

Suns fans' reaction towards the trade and every one of

them thought it was a great trade. Some wouldn't say

it up front, but I could tell on their faces they

liked it.

I'm going to the Lakers vs. Suns game next Wednesday

and am extremely excited about it. I Can't wait to

beat some Suns but!

Hello, I am more then willing to help answer your questions... 1- your impressions about Pau’s transfer to the Lakers? When I first found out that Pau Gasol was coming to the Lakers I was ecstatic. I couldn't believe that we were getting an All-Star player on our team. 2- your expectations about his first game in LA next Tuesday Well this is going to be a revenge game for the Lakers, we played the Atlanta Hawks February 6th 2008 and we lost to them when we shouldn't of have. That is why I personally believe this is going to be a HUGE game... were out for revenge as well as it is the first game after the All-star break. It is also the first home game in 15 days (we recently had a 15 day road trip). I expect Pau to come out an destroy the hawks in that game, we were over-zealous and were too complacent because we were thinking that game would be a breeze... Pau and Kobe will come and show the Laker fans that a new Championship Dynasty has started again under Kobe and Pau... it will be like the old days Of Shaq and Kobe or the Showtime days... It will be a great game to the start of Pau's new great career with a team he deserves to be on. 3- what has most surprised you in the first days His ability to come in and play with the Lakers instantly, The triangle offense is a complex system of basketball and he came in and played flawlessly, he scored 24points and 12rebounds in his first game with the Lakers against New Jersy... If he is putting in figures like that on his first game its going to be great to see what he puts in later in the year....
