Can we still afford Jason Kidd (and is he worth it?)

I don't want Jason Kidd on the team. We do not need him. I repeat - we do not need a $20mil point guard to run the triangle. Derek Fisher and Ron Harper did just fine when we won our most recent rings.

I don't see how giving up Lamar, VRad and Sasha is worth it to get Kidd. Lamar is a mismatch monster. VRad and Sasha are our shooters, if we get rid of them we're losing depth from our bench which has been stellar. Oh yeah, we're definitely not getting a shooter back in Kidd. We get Kidd and Farmar suffers as a result.

In the next three or four years we are going to need to re-sign Bynum, Pau and Lamar; trading for Kidd will lock us up financially, especially if we give him that extension he wants.

No and no! Honestly, I'm sick of seeing this guys name on this site! We have 2 very capable guys...Fisher and Farmar...they can shoot. You don't need a guy like Kidd for the triangle. He is a great passer, but the dude is not the shooter that our guys are.

If Kidd gets traded, I'm rooting for him to go somewhere in the Eastern Conference. Don't care where, but anywhere over there.

Who doesn't want him on their team? I for one.

I can't wait for the trade deadline to pass already...but I just read on ESPN that the Mavericks & Nets reached an agreement in principle on a Kidd deal...sources say details are still being sorted out...so, for me, that's good news...I'm tired of hearing Kidd trades & just imagine what the Mavericks will have to give up...

Sources say Dallas will also add the league-maximum $3 million in cash and send its first-round draft pick this June as well as a first-rounder in 2010.

The deal might look something like that...that's alot for J-Kidd...

I'd love to have him, but not at the price, it just isn't worth it, not for three more years of the downside of a great PG.

BALDERDASH!!! Kidd would do nothing but deplete our bench. You know, the bench that is among the top in scoring in the NBA?

yes we can still get kidd. his defense got worse, his shot, is non-existant.. and its easy to get a few ast. with carter/rj on the court in fast breaks.. but is that enough to make us give up our depth? which semi-saved us from all of those injures in the last few years.?
