Metta World Pace, formerly known as Ron Artest, became a Los Angeles Laker in 2009 after agreeing to a 3 year, $18 million contract. Artest is an NBA All Star player best known as a great one-on-one defender. In fact he was named the 2004 NBA defensive player of the year. On offense, Ron can post up smaller forwards and also shoot the 3 pointer or drive to the basket. Ron stands 6'7" tall and weighs a powerful 259 lbs. He was originally drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1999 NBA draft. Artest was born on November 13, 1979 in Queens, New York.
