Hi Jeanie, I'm a Laker fan way back to when Elgin Baylor was with Minneapolis. it grieves me to see how the rest of the west has caught up and past the Lakers with there success. i think the smartest thing your dad did was to let a great basketball mind like Jerry West run show, much like the owner of Miami is allowing Pat Riley run the show.
And of cours you Golden State again with Jerry West and a players coach with Mark Jackson. I know it's too much of a stretch to inteview for Brian Shaw as coach,
so when are you and Phil getting married? We need another great basketball mind in management. It's a great formula.
It's the gateway, and has nothing to do with your brothers lack of knowledge.
The amnesty issue as you may know is new and has the potential to make or break this franchise. It seems to me to be a no brainer to amnesty Kobe, take the $80 million, and make a mad dash for the free agency market come July 1st. You can always resign Kobe at a later date but there are so many marqee players this year and all the Lakers need are 3. Nick Young, Josh Smith, and Ramon Sessions.
Nick Young is a 6' 6" guard who can shoot, is young, is coachable, and most of all is cheap. (5.6 million) For some reason he was overlooked by the Clippers. Josh Smith is a player who could carry a team along with Howard, but would be the hardest because the Lakers would have to decide on what to do with Gasol. I would not not amnesty Gasol because He is more valuable in a trade, so I would either trade him or keep him. Lastly, Ramon Sessions seems to have left the door open in his last conversation with sports writers, but he went for the money, much like Derek Fisher did with Golden State. But he would would have still been here had Mike Brown had his back, which he didn't. I'm sure he would welcome a second chance with his
athleticism and is coachable. I'm only giving you this information because You are over the business end of the Lakers where as Jim is over basketball. But like your dad he needs to follow suite and allow a basketball mind to make critical decisions.
Here's to continued success and hopefully sound decisions in the near future.

Your father was awesome. My thoughts are with you at this time of great loss. The smartest person I dealt with in sports; but above that the best friend. His loyalty knew no bounds. He always made time for his friends and always supported them. He was a special person who I will always remember fondly.

Dear Ms Buss
We are cardiologists at Cedars-Sinai medical center, heart institute, Los Angeles, and we are doing research on exercise stress testing . We have found that given the same exercise protocol women achieve their target heart rate much earlier than men. We do not have the good explanation for this phenomenon and thought may have to do with women low cardiovascular conditioning.
A good way to progress understanding this phenomenon would be to study women athletes performance compared to men athletes performance. We believe that NBA and WNBA players have done treadmill test and if we can access to the data we can see if this observation is true for men and women athletes.
We are seeking your help in exploring this previously undescribed phenomenon. We hope that you find the project interesting enough to help us get hold of a data base Sincerely
