That was surprising and disappointing for me to hear as well. I think it would have been best for him not to comment, but then he chose to criticize Morey like that- it almost sounded like he was representing the Chinese government or something. "Misinformed" and "Not Thinking of Others"- that's sad because Lebron has enough money to speak up against what China did and support Morey, but I guess his values didn't dictate.

Apparently there was a tense meeting between Lakers/Nets players & Adam Silver in China as well:

Quote:
During the meeting with the players, sources said, Silver was directly asked whether anything would happen to Morey, as several players said they believed that if a player had cost the NBA millions of dollars because of a tweet, there would be repercussions.

Ugh. Wondering who these players were because that's pretty sad.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he thought the same way, though in this case it was Nets & Lakers players.

I know right? "Justice Everywhere" huh? I know that he tweeted that a year & a half ago but not sure what the purpose of that message was for when you're preaching what you refuse to practice. So justice "everywhere" except when it doesn't affect "his" people & community I suppose- that's literally what he just said to Mark Medina:

Yeah, I'm guessing his Nike deal and the prospect of China not letting Spacejam 2 be shown are more important to him. It's remarkable how he has done a full 180 on that shut and dribble debacle. Only picks battles that he can always win/look good in.

Exactly. Unfortunately I think his comments are going to hurt the NBA and himself way more than it helps. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Apparently Lebron was the one who wanted Morey punished during that Lakers/Nets players meeting with Adam Silver:

Quote:
He (Adam Silver) expressed to the players that the best thing for the league would be for the Nets and Lakers to become ambassadors for the sport, to show a positive front and face the questions that would come from the throng of nearly 200 reporters set to descend upon the hotel in mere hours. One of the league's core values is freedom of expression, Silver said, "it's what you guys stand for." And to not speak, he said, could lead to criticism for staying silent.

Silver opened up the floor. James raised his hand.

His question was related to Morey -- and the commissioner's handling of the Rockets' GM. James, to paraphrase, told Silver he knew that if a player caused the same type of uproar from something he said or tweeted, the player wouldn't be able to skate on it. There would be some type of repercussion. So, James wanted to know, what was Silver going to do about it in Morey's case?

How sad is this, LebRon only cares about making more money then standing up for what is right.

Not totally disagreeing, but is it his job to take a stand on every issue in the world?

Where were those Politicians that came out of woodwork at Lebron , never heard a thing from them about China.

No it's not his job but as Kellerman said "it's very easy to take a stand when there is low to no cost. When there is a real price to pay, then who will stand up?"

Look at all the issues he has stood up for and reread the quote above.
