Maybe he's a humbled man now.

So does this complete our roster or do we still have room for Iggy if or when he gets bought out?

I think we’d need to waive or trade somebody as Cousins still takes a roster spot despite us having the injury exception.

My guess it would be Troy Daniels they waive for Iggy

At this stage of their career, even the worst showing of Howard in his plays is still quality wise above the best of his rivals Noah and company. Beside, he knows and has admitted that he is no longer the star player he used to which he can demand attention but a player seeking a chance to play and seriously contribute what is still left in his arsenal of talents.

I have my fingers crossed. But as a 30 year old grown man he still rubbed Charlotte’s locker room the wrong way, Charlotte of all teams. Ever since his true colors came out with us the first go-round, then further exacerbated in houston I Have lost a whole deal of respect for the guy. Hopefully he turns it around because we’ll need it, but at this point I would be very very unsurprised if it’s more of the same. Javale also seems a lot more productive in his limited minutes before he gets gassed than Howard has been on a full night

I have mixed feelings about Howard, but in this stage of the game after the long wait on Kawhi, we really do not have much choice. But it might work out because Howard knows that he is at the end of his career. It might be a good or last chance to get a ring.

I am actually happy about this. I personally feel that he was the best of what was currently available. What happened to Boggie was a tragedy and I'd obviously prefer him healthy and contributing. He most likely won't play the entirety of the season, so we needed someone to back up McGee.

AD clearly doesn't want to play many minutes at the 5 position and I think we should attempt to make him as happy as we possibly can. Remember, he is a free agent after next season and I'd would hate to lose him because he was unhappy with a role that was thrown at him.

Howard did us dirty and I think everyone agrees. I read an article yesterday that specified that he mentioned that he had hit "rock bottom" and that he was"humbled". Apparently, the Lakers brass has warned him of his attitude and his contract is non guaranteed. I really hope this works out. We all need it to..... Including Howard.

Well it's non guaranteed past January. So IF he doesn't work out, by then someone else may hit the market before the trade deadline. Like Noel etc. So we are plugging a leak for now. And may have to the rest of the season, since there's no assurance Cousins will make it back, nor that he'll be at full capacity or won't get hurt again if he does. So these are stop gaps. IF Howard does us right and got some therapy, maybe he turns into our guy. Who knows. If so we could let Cousins go at the end of the season, or keep both for what they're earning. Cousins won't get a big offer for next season for sure. Kind of a 2 for 1 thing with him and Howard. Whichever isn't hurt at the time is our center lol. Until something better comes along. So we have some cast offs on the team again, to go with our stars. Now if we get Melo we'll really have an odd lineup lol. Hoping for Iggy, but not holding my breath. Certainly some line up changes/tweaking will take place during the season. To balance us out a bit better. Between Dec 15 and the trade deadline. Lots of one year (expiring for all intents and purposes) deals to play with.

Surprised this site isn't more active with everything that's been going on. Since the draft and a few weeks after, it's been dead. My name is almost the only one here lol...

The fact that Howard was given a non-guaranteed contract and essentially told that 'if you disrupt this team you're out', tells you that he's not the right guy for the team. He's a prima dona, the exact same words I said here 7 years ago when the Lakers foolishly let go of Bynum for Howard. Nothing has changed. And yes Shep, I know we diametrically disagree on the Bynum thing.

Howard has zero basketball IQ and he will disrupt the flow of the team! He's all physique! He does not possess the ability to adjust his game or his attitude, obviously. Why is this so difficult to discern from an entire career of the same thing year after year and 4 recent teams that tossed him out, and, now he's injury prone!

Why was Faried not even considered?

LOL, good memory Sky. Fact is even if we'd kept Bynum, he'd have been gone the next year or 2 with the injuries and attitude issues. Seems all too common in the league with bigs. Either way we'd still be in the same spot now. Staying here wouldn't have made his knees any better. And he has expressed interest inn returning to play in the NBA, but no one has taken him up on it. Says something as well.

That said I don't disagree with about Howard. But we had few good choices. Faried would be interesting, but he's 4" shorter than our new PF (AD). Too short for a 5 on this team. Reverse them and ok, but AD won't play the 5. I'd be for having him on the team fo the 2nd unit, to play small ball 5, otherwise 4. But not to start at 5. I was tempted like many to go for him. But I think it would have been a bad fit at that position.

What I believe is the Lakers will watch Howard, and see if there's issues. And if so will cut him in Jan and look for a new guy like Noel at the deadline. He's a bandaid. hopefully will work out, might now. They don't need him to be a top scorer or even passer. Just to anchor the spot, alter shots, be big and let the rest of the guys take the glory. Sounds like he won't get a lot of minutes either. Will be interesting. Under the circumstances, Noah was bad in the locker room as well, and is a shadow of his former self as well. Speights can't play D. Manimal is undersized. Some were hoping for Lopez, but he's already extended by Milwaukee, and he was also here before and no noe wanted him back. We had out guy in Cousins, but that blew up. So her we are, trying to get the best of a bad bunch. Which I guess we did.

As I said elsewhere, if Iggy doesn't come here, I'd love to have Manimal on the team anyways. His energy and rebounding are contagious. Would add a lot of depth to an already deep team. But remember we also have Kostas Antetokounmpo. Pity we can't have/keep them all Wink

Howard is a very desperate man and he knows that if he miss this chance, no NBA team will get him. His only choice is reform for good or overseas exile and most likely China. He has to bite and swallow whatever ego that is left in him and he knows this very well.

I heard that Dwight believes that he is better then Cousins and can’t wait to demonstrate his awesome skills. Once I heard this I’m finding it hard to wait for the season to start

Well, that will be an interesting boast to try and back up lol. Considering DH has no outside shot, and can't hit free throws. But hey, good to be confident and optimistic I guess lol. And if so, if he's even decent, and Boogie comes back by playoff time, that will be some two headed beast we'll have. 3 headed actually, including AD. If nothing else, this season will be far more intriguing and worth watching than any other one in quite a long time.

Well whatever. We all know he can dunk. I'd have been more impressed if he lined up and made 100 ft's without a miss lol.

No doubt LOL! I came across this video and figured I’d post it to wake the forum up a bit. Granted, the video was slow enough to damn near put me to sleep.

Can we sign the dude in the black hoodie? On a serious note, I'm glad to see him out there in the community having fun.
