He lives in LA or SD? Coz he keeps ending up down there. I've been saying since the start this was a fool's errand and the Lakers would get burned. Kl is staying in TO. Book it. And if I'm right, which, you know, I am, then you can all buy me an In and Out burger lol.

I wonder if he heard Snoop Dogs this morning trying his best to lure Kawhi to the Lakers. LOL!

This is crazy! Nobody knows what this guy is going to do. But if he decides to stay in the cold country? The Lakers will find a way to surround AD and LeBron with some talented aging players, who probably will try their best because they have never won a ring even though they have had great careers when they were in their prime. Just saying!

He bought a $13.3m house in San Diego in Jan of this year or Dec of 2018. That pool is INSANE!! In N Out sounds good right now. What time you buying?

I spend lots of time in East Lake's which is about ten miles from Rancho San Diego and it seems like nobody cares whether Kawhi signs with a team in southern California or Toronto. No excitement at all.

I never knew Kawhi had a mansion some where in the hills of Rancho San Diego. Just read about that in this forum.

I know this won’t be a popular statement to some on here but I personally think Kawhi has known where he’s going for awhile now but he is dragging this out to grow his brand more! Think about it, look at all the attention he is getting and all eyes on him. I feel like he is playing it up for that reason is to grow his brand and if he really wants to grow his brand choosing LA would by far grow it! KL already has and will continue to have a following in Canada after giving them their first championship. Will there be some people mad he left of course but ultimately people will still be grateful for what he did to them and will still be the best player they have ever had play for them. Then he goes to the lakers on top of it and then gets the huge following the lakers have. Not only that he’s gonna be possibly winning multiple championships. I just don’t see how he doesn’t choose lakers with everything involved in it. It’s the best business decision and best basketball decision he could make.

Listening to D. Green on radio, sounds like he'll come to Lakers if Kawhi goes back to Raptors, and to Mavs or another team if Kawhi comes and Lakers. Don't sound like he'll to med level or vet min.

I don't think he is dragging this out at all. This decision is huge for him, as of right now most everyone thinks of KL as someone who doesn't need a super team can be a lone superstar on a team and win, he did with Spurs and Raptors. What other Superstar has done that? In all reality the KL everybody knows, picking to join Lebron and AD is not something he would do. At the start of the year he did an interview saying he would not join Lebron, he wanted to beat him. Everything about KL up to this point says he should stay in Toronto or go to Clippers. And this is why this decision is so hard for him. KL like any other Superstar likes to win and the Lakers offer him the best chance to win over the next 10 years. RAPTORS CONS:
    1. He knows the Raptors got luck on their side with GSW.
    2. Pretty much the entire Raptors team are FAs after next year. Also Siakam is restricted and will be getting paid, which will be less money for Raptors to making a championship team. Who is a better side kick, AD or Siakam?
    3. Who is the best FA to sign with Raptors in Free Agency. Raptors is not an easy recruitment place.
    4. Does KL want to carry a team on his back with out a legit 2nd star for the next 5 years?
CLIPPERS CONS:
    1. Can the Clippers lineup really win a ring next year? I don't think a big 3 of KL / Gallanari / Beverly, KL makes is out of the west.
    2. Does KL want to carry a team on his back with out a legit 2nd star for the next....

From what I have read Danny Green, Marcus Morris and Cousins are all waiting on KL, so they will get paid from the team that doesn't not get KL. (Couisins probably 1 year deal.)

Cris Carter, which is a guy I think has the most inside scoop (same agent) on KL, said he will not make a decision today. KL is still undecided according to him.

If Lebron is serious, would love to see him play more PG, always thought he was more Magic than MJ

Beginning to think Kawhi wants Lakers to make decision for him, by not being able to hold off AD trade any longer. Lol

AD trade will be pushed back until KL has made his decision, the trade is way way to big to be cancelled at this point. The pick the Lakers traded to get AD, has already been traded to ATL which were then able to pick their own player at #4, also Solomon was trade to ATL with that 4th pick, which he was traded again to Memphis.

This 4 team mega trade has way to many players and assets involved for it to be cancelled at this point, so I wouldn't worry about it getting cancelled.

If it’s a long term contract, advantage lakers. Now If it was a 1+1 deal I would have had the Raptors as front runners.

I was wondering how many are actually involved in the AD trade so I did some research and I think this is the entire 4 team deal.

PELICANS

    Lonzo

    Ingram

    Hart

    2019 8th pick (ATL)

    2019 17th pick (ATL)

    2019 35th pick (ATL)

    2020 1st pick (Cavs Protected)

    2021 1st rd pick (Lakers)

    2024 1st rd pick (Lakers)

LAKERS

    Anthony Davis

ATL

    2019 4TH pick (Lakers)

    2019 57th pick (Pelicans)

    Future 2dn round pick (Pelicans)

    Solomon Hill (Pelicans)

WIZARDS

    2022 - 2nd round pick (Lakers)

    Wagner (Lakers)

    Jones (Lakers)

    Bonga (Lakers)

I swear.. I am going to get gray hairs over this. I was kind of wondering if the announcement would come tomorrow to coincide with the opening of free agency.

I just read an article today stating that AD will be "exploring" free agency in 2020. Knicks/Lakers at top of his list. Folks, if he pulls a Dwight Coward, I think I will lose it. Sorry, can't help but think about that.

Honestly I think Kawhi was going to announce his decision today until Coco won her match historically at Wimbledon. She’s a New Balance athlete so I bet New balance asked for him to push it back so she could get her spotlight today. Then Kawhi will get his spotlight tomorrow. So New balance will be dominating the media. Some of you will disagree but I am very confident in saying that’s what happened. Some of you will say Kawhi isn’t that kind of guy well you obviously don’t understand how PR works and building an athletes brand. This is exactly how it works. We will hear either later tonight to give her time in the spotlight or tomorrow is my guess.

So do we sign Cousins or Green with the mid leve? Coz we can't do both unless it gets split. But I don't think Green goes for less than that, if even for that. I think he wants more. So if that's the case we can't get him unless KL doesn't come here. If KL doesn't come here, then they have the money to sign Green etc. So, what's the hold up on using the mid on Cousins? It won't adversely affect the trade, unless KL doesn't want to play on the same team as Boogie.

Typically a team does not sign there pick if they agreed to trade, because you have to wait 30 days to trade the player if you sign them.

No team to wait 30 days to get pick (player), they want them right away.

IF we had signed him then we would have had to wait until the 30th. Also if we would have signed him we wouldn’t have had to make the trade with the wizards to get rid of Wagner and the other guys.

Maybe Lakers aren't interested in Cousins. Think we'll see McGee back.

I’m really curious to know if the Lakers and AD are wanting him to play at the 5 or plan on trying to play him at the 4? That would make a big difference of what big man we get with us.

I'm on the fence about McGee or Cousins, McGee had pretty good year playing with James. Cousins definitely better player, but don't know how far back he'll come to being player he was before injury.

And AD has said he likes playing with him.

As cool as it is to see coco win her winbeldon match at 15 years old it sucks we now have to wait another day because she had an epic comeback win today. And if you guys seriously don’t think that is why it got put off further you don’t know how the game works. The announcement came right about the same time that Kawhi wasn’t making his decision today because they wanted the spotlight for the young phenom so Kawhi didn’t upstage her day.

McGee has really been working on his 3 point shot as well. I liked the way he played for this team last year! Just hate to see Kuz have to go to the bench if McGee starts.

I think AD will be playing the 5, there are only a handful of true centers that play like centers, so AD wouldn’t even see a true talented center that he would have to guard but every once in a while.

I think Kawhi taking this long means he is waiting on the moves the Lakers had to make with the Pelicans in order to free up more money for the Kawhi move. There some kind of technicality as to when AD would sign, but it has been several weeks since I read that, and it was suppose to free up something like six million give or take that would boost up the money for the Lakers cap. Which meant they could offer Kawhi the full max contract.

So if that is the case, it sure sounds like Kawhi might sign with the Lakers. But everybody has to be patient and agreeable to wait until that date has arrived.

Actually if the lakers wait until after the AD trade goes through they will have less money to offer KL. They were talking about over a 4 year contract would be $11 million less he would make if it was after the lakers made the trade official.

Oh there are plenty of good centers he would have to defend. Like Marc Gasol, Al Horford, Andre Drummond, Howard, Lopez brothers, Gobert, Embiid, Towns, Steven Adams, Jordan etc etc.

AD said he did not want to play the five spot. I am just quoting what i heard.

Based on my calculations all of the salaries we are trading off adds up to $22,818,709 not including our 4th overall pick. This part I am not certain of the value but my understanding of the value of a 1st rounder in a trade is worth roughly 1-2 million. Anthony Davis salary that we will take back is $27,093,019. So depending on the actually value of what our first rounder is we would be looking at 2-3 million less to offer for KL or other free agents if we waiting until after the trade is completed. So we need KL to make his decision beforehand to give us maximum flexibility.

Out of the ones you mentioned the only ones who would be bangers is Drummond, Embiid, towns and Adams. The rest are either stretch 5’s or don’t really bang down low hardcore.

I wouldn’t mind having Bradley on the team. He’s a decent 3 and D guy. He had an injury which made him take a step back but could be a decent pickup for depth for sure.

League sources told ESPN's Bobby Marks that the Pelicans, Hawks and Wizards are expected to cooperate with the Lakers if Leonard is still undecided by noon on Saturday. The date was agreed upon initially in the Lakers' and Pelicans' deal sending Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks for Davis. The deal was based on the Lakers using the $32 million in cap space created on a max free agent, such as Leonard or on other players available.

Agreed. The fact that he is holding the entirety of the NBA hostage is obnoxious. I had a dream that the three teams in question got inpatient and walked out of negotiations. He ended up signing with the Sun's.
