Our new young core lol.

Talen Horton-Tucker 18, 6'4, 230, Iowa State

Zach Norvell, 21, 6'5, 205, Gonzaga

Devontae Cacok, 22, 6'7, 240, UNC Wilmington

Jordan Caroline, 23, 6'7, 230, Nevada

Aric Holman, 21, 6'10,225, Mississippi State

Don't know much about these guys, Norvell seems nice. Holman has a nice outside shot.

THT is intriguing because based on his videos he looks like he has legitimate talent. The way he defends and the way he fills in the lane and shoots his jumpers suggests he’s a lot more than a mid 2nd round pick, not to mention he’s one of the youngest in the draft, still 18 until late November. If he can work on his weight I’m confident in his ability. He won’t be an elite athlete but with his talent on both ends of the floor and his motor, he won’t need it.

Yeah Holman has a real nice shot and we can really use some of that. Obviously not a huge build but that can come with time if he shows enough promise and aggressiveness in summer league. Cacok has some nice footwork and not a bad touch and seems like he's got a lot of heart.

It should be abundantly clear by now, that in the same way that LA has one of the worst city halls in the country, and for that matter, in spite of it's wealth, Cali has one of the most corrupt state gov's, with LA City being a third world city at this point, the Lakers have one of the worst FO's. Every other team makes us look silly on a regular basis.

Hey KK, would you sign another marquee FA (KAwhi) or spread the wealth?

Only one I'd sign would be Kawhi, if not spread the wealth, as long as you don't overpay for 2nd and 3rd tier talent.

Same here. If KAwhi is available go broke or else spread it around. Once LBJ is gone you have 2 (young) perennial superstars to build around.

If we can’t get KAwhi I would like to get Lopez, P.Beverly, Seth Curry and maybe 2 other shooters on vet min.

Can not believe Zach Norvell was not drafted. This kid can shoot the lights out of the rim. He might be the diamond in the rough that some scout for the Lakers found. Glad to read that the lakers have found some good potential stars in this years draft after trading away our #4 draft pick.

Right now Kawhi should be the main target for Pelinka, but if they can not get him then spread the wealth on a good deep team. Get some good bench players. Just because we have AD and LeBron does not win championships. You still need good role players.

How do you feel about Dlo, if they can get him back. I wouldn't mind, depends on price !!!

Don't you love how great players look in practice with no one guarding them. Lol

Lol just to think of it we really don't need another max player. Surrournd this team with specialist and we will be better than just having a big 3.

Rob has gotten unfair shake but Magic hasn't? Lol i believe Rob is better than Magic and it shows. Getting legit coaches and coaching staff plus might be adding Ron Adams of the warriors. Trading AD without giving up Kuzma.

If he can have D-Lo join again we are set of our future. D-LO,KUZ and AD.

Eric Pincus which is pretty involved in the NBA did an article that mentioned which route may be better for the Lakers. Irving or DLO + Beverly.

He mentioned DLO if available could maybe see around 20mil deal. Then we could sign Beverly for 12 million.

I would 100% love to sign DLO and Beverly this summer. That would be in my opinion best case after signing KL.

DLO and Beverly both can hit the 3, Beverly can guard, and both can make passes.

Sign me up.

You cannot tell from highlight reels, but this kid looks amazing. He has a great step back and can play above the rim.

Remember, Fred Van Vleet was undrafted. You can never tell.

I am really glad we gave him a two-way contract, this means he'll likely stick around and get the chance to really show what he's got. Some people out there are upset at Rob but he is really making some good decisions (as well as the Lakers scouting department, who are building a great track record). Just hope Norvell shines in summer league, and I think he will.

Yeah for the right price I’m on board. Don’t overpay for him. He still struggles finishing at the rim.

Unless he's just hell bent on coming back to LA, probably a good decision to stay. He'd have an easy path back to the finals.

Eli would be perfect. He's a pick and roll guy, he's a mid-range guy, he's a 3 point shooting guy, he can pass, he can play off ball. AND HE'S NOT SCARED. He created the phrase, I s water in my veins Kuz is not scared. 2 more get players and whatever else on the bench. If we can get dlo, alongside AX and Kuz the future is bright.

Seems like Russell's fate is tied to Irving's. If Irving is dead set on signing with Brooklyn, then the Lakers' chances of getting Russell seem to be as good as anyone else's.

There seems to be a growing belief Kyrie and KD to Brooklyn. The Nets could be powerhouse next year. They're looking to bring in Deandre Jordan as well, they're gonna get a lot of guys who'd take smaller deals. Kawhi seems like he'll stay, which makes a lot of sense. At this point, I hope Lakers can just get some good role players, give some money to them and don't waste our time on the higher ups.

If Irving and KD go to Nets, they will not be a power house next year, KD is out for the year. I actually think the Nets will be worse next year with Irving only while KD is recovering.

Yeah my bad I somehow forgot. But it's hard to say how a Kyrie/Russell swap would play out on the nets, but I do think they would be better with Kyrie.

We better be keeping our eyes on the prize. And not let everyone slip through our fingers as usual, waiting for another top 5 guy, who isn't coming in the end.

Better to get: 1. Beverly (grit), 2. Seth Curry (44% 3's), 3. Trevor Ariza (still versatile). Then look at Wesley Mathews, JR Smith, Melo, maybe Lopez/Faried as b/u center, and to be able to play AD at the 4 at times, or give him rest. Time not to keep overplaying the stars.

Remember, Jordan and Cousins are going to end up somewhere and make an impact. Same with Lopez. Along with the big top FA's possibly changing teams. If KL stays, that's a team that can repeat. If Butler stays, Thompson stays, Irving and KD to NJ, Cousins stays, Walker stays, all most likely outcomes. Then Toronto would be our main competition for the chip, ironically along with Milwaukee and Philly. All east coast teams. Houston is a train wreck waiting to happen, GSW are out for the season, Portland will be good, SA middle of the pack, Denver probably next best in the west.

Time to bust a move LAL!

IS DLo a better option than Beverly? Let's ask ourselves. How much would Beverly be? A cple seasons ago we couldn't wait to get rid of the turnover machine who couldn't crack 3 assists per game. Now we want to pay him $20mill to come back? Does that mean no Seth Curry? I'm inclined to pass.

Do you have medical proof he will be out the whole year? Are you the doctor that treated him? Lol /sarcasm

I got chastised for suggesting such a thing on another thread. Lol

I don't see how the nets would be any better next year in such a scenario. Kyrie wasn't that great last year and wouldn't be much of an upgrade on Russell. KD would be just taking up a roster slot. Why would vets think that roster has a better chance of a ring over the Lakers next year.

Tough call. While DLo was less than stellar his first few years in L.A., it's hard to ignore his breakout season with NJ. Honestly, I wish Kyrie would more seriously consider rejoining Lebron and coming to L.A. He's already proven he can thrive on a championship caliber team with Lebron. DLo is a much bigger question mark. I hate to pay him 20 mil, but if we don't, someone else most certainly will. I'm leaning towards hoping it's someone else. lol

Can't go wrong with Beverly. He's a solid role-player and would compliment AD and the King quite nicely in a starting or bench role. I also like his playoff efficiency over the last few years; solid rebounding, assist, scoring, and 3-point percentage for a bench player. He also comes with a much more reasonable price tag compared to a flashy DLo who's looking to get paid after an All-Star season

After all the money the Lakers have paid KCP, he should take a vet minimum deal for a year.

I am more afraid of Suns signing DLO, him and Booker are very close and they have the money and need another guard. However Lebron has been friends with DLO for a while with him being from Ohio and heck 4 years ago he said he wanted to play with Lebron and AD and this was AD before he was a top 10 player.

Personally, here is my choice of what I want the Lakers to do in order.

  1. Sign KL (I don't think this will happen)

  2. Sign DLO and Beverly

  3. Sign Irving

  4. Sign 3 separate guys for about 11 million each.

i think we need to sign one from each category:

1st tier: DLO, Kyrie (unlikely), kawhi (very unlikely), Kemba, Kris Middleton, jimmy butler

2nd tier: beverly, seth curry, austin rivers, brogdon

and then fill out the roster with vet min guys.
