Some people laughed when I presented the idea of us possibly jumping up.

I have a feeling LBJ will demand a trade so they made a pre-emptive move by giving the lakers a consolation prize(4th pick) just like they took care of New Orleans with Zion. Lol.

I like Rui at 4. We’ll see. For all we know it’ll get shipped out with our young core.

On paper, all project players. I'd package pick in trade.

KUZMA is the lucky star for the Lakers. The FO sending him to represent the team in the lottery paid great reward by upgrading the position in the draft.

I would too, but RJ Barrett is a nice player and would be good if we kept him. On the big man side, honestly I do like Bol Bol, but I wouldn't take him this high. Goga Bitadze is a center that plays like Steven Adams, but has handles and shooting range, so he would DEFINITELY fit, but the Lakers would have to package the pick or draft for someone else to justify getting him this early. Rui Hachimura...I like him, but we have the same type of player and we don't need anymore 3's or 4's, so yeah I would dangle this pick or go best player available.

I think lakers are in the driver’s seat for the AD trade. Getting Zion and the number 4 pick is one hell of a jump start to their rebuilding endeavors. We won’t have to give up too much either. I think this is happening. It worked out for both parties.

Think they'll still have to give up another future pick , plus at least 2 of the core. To bad this isn't a better draft as far as top talent.

I would give Hart and Kuzma and another future pick along with the 4th pick. That’s it. Those 2 are replaceable.

Also wouldn't count Knicks out, they have young assets too. 3rd pick could keep RJ and Zion together.

Tatum was terrible in the playoffs too. Pelicans should have took the Lakers offer but getting the 1st and 4th would be great for them. Tank next year too and develop the 2 picks. Perfect way to rebuild for them.

Hachimura is Kuzma with a BETTER floor game and defense, but I just think he is repeat of what we have already. You would almost have to deal away Kuzma or Ingram to justify getting him. But, I like his game and poise and think with the right team he grows into a nice player.

Doubt it. 1 player the 4th pick and a future 1st beats anything Boston offers. If Irving leaves no way AD stays. I don't see any team giving up anything for a rental.

Pelicans have very little leverage and the longer they wait the less they get in return.

Exactly. Tatum has been the darling of the media even though his numbers could not even match Kuzma. Lol. I think the lakers just stole the draft day (and perhaps saved their future) with this pick. Pelicans getting Zion and the 4th pick is just what they need after they lose AD. Develop /tank and then add another one next year.

I would love Rui. I think his projected growth makes him a better starting caliber forward. Kuz to me is a spark plug off the bench kind of player, he’d be a perennial sixth man of the year if he came off the bench. But it all depends on how Jeanie is trying to approach this situation. Are we still selling the farm for AD? Beal? A second star? Are we gonna holdon to young assets who flourishes in the future and go for stars in free agency and bank on developmental growth of our young core?

Wasn't even considering Boston, as I said above, wouldn't count Knicks out. 3rd pick would get Pels RJ Barrett and Knicks also have some good young players.

Plus the fact that I still think Pels owner doesn't really want to deal with Lakers, so they'll ask for more. Do you really have confidence that Lakers FO won't give up the farm. Lol

3rd pick, Knox at $4.5m and what? They can't get close enough to match salaries. Pretty sure there's a way but not in a way that makes it lucrative to the Pelicans unless they offer multiple future 1st rounders.

Under salary cap, they don't have to match salaries. And I'm sure they will offer future 1st rd picks, just like Lakers will. They get AD, they better their chances of getting KD, if he's not going there already.

Also can offer Dennis Smith Jr. , Mitchell Robinson.

Just saying don't think Lakers or any team is getting AD cheap. Unless he comes out and says he'll only resign with Lakers.

Plus the fact that this draft isn't considered full of 1st rd talent after top 3 picks.

Plus I doubt they give up so much for a rental. AD is leaving because he wants to team up with an established star. His logical choices were Boston and Lakers. With Kyrie bolting out they are left without a superstar(Kyrie was the only hope Boston had if they wanted AD to stay long term) and Boston aren’t giving up Tatum and Brown after Kyrie leaves.

It seemed to me that Tatum and the rest of those guys just quit on Kyrie kind of like the young Lakers did when all of them were in the trade for AD.

Then they don't have 2 max slots for free agents. Just don't see any team offering anything better than the Lakers.

Lakers could trade Ball to the sun's and the 4th to the Pelicans and the Pelicans get 4th, 6th and futures while the Lakers get AD.

He did list Knicks as one of his teams during trade deadline, if Knicks get KD or Kyrie in FA, he gets his established star.

Either way doubt anything happens till after FA, they trade for AD before that, Lakers take themselves out of top FA market. If they get him, deal will be in place, but won't be officially till after FA.

Too many ifs and buts with that scenario.

Don't need two if one of them is AD. I want AD on Lakers, just not getting my hopes up to high. Just don't think Pels really want to deal him to lakers, might not take the best deal if it's from the Lakers.

Also as much as I want him on team, don't want to give up the farm for him, which I think this FO is still willing to do.

If Leonard stays and the 76ers keep everything and have a full pre season together. The Knicks don't have enough AD and Irving is not enough. Durant perhaps but 1 of them gets injured and they are screwed.
