No on Papa Shango. He cursed the Ultimate Warrior and made him puke. I'm still bitter about that.

No one does. Not going to get AD talent in return whatever they settle for.

To get Davis we will have to see what value we can get for Ball. Pelicans don’t want him and we would need to move his salary with AD coming in for other free agents. Ingram lost value after injury and Kuzma nor Hart played great down the stretch. If we can get some value for Ball, I think we have a shot at AD. Maybe Phoenix gives us a protected future 1st for Ball. Who knows? We are probably looking at losing Ball, Ingram, Hart plus at least two first round picks including our 4th this year. Maybe Wagner has a little value too?

Totally agree, except about BI, think it will depend on medicals, he's still will have best value if medicals check out. Plus Zo hasn't stayed healthy since he came into league.

Ingram, Kuz, #4 pick , future 1st should get it done - then get Kawhi ... I’m good with that deal

I like the Ball to the Suns for the 6th pick idea. Then package 4+6 to the Pels for AD. Then if Irving comes it's ova. We back. Fill it in with Hart/KCP (on a team friendly deal this time and tell him to start playing like a man like he did at the end of the season). Have to give up Kuz or Ing probably as well. S'aight. Whoever stays is 6th man. Get a decent shooter or 2. Bam!

We all would. But I don't think KL wants to be the 3rd option on any team.

If that’s the case, I’ll take Middleton at a cheaper but expensive price but a damn good player who is very underrated

Want to get AD? trade LBJ for AD then keep the young cores and the draft pick plus get another star from the FA. I agree with Jeannie to get rid of this aging superstar. His efficiency rating will continue to go down mainly because of age. Likewise his health is getting precarious specially for him which the team expects a high intensity level of playing on a very long season. Trade LBJ while he still has value before father time overcome him totally which is sooner than later.

Highly doubt Pels take just Lebron for AD, or a unhappy Lebron at all. At this stage of his career , you'd need more than Lebron to get AD. Probably have to bring in a 3rd team to send Lebron to, keep hearing Lebron for Simmons. Send a couple of picks and Simmons and one of core to Pels for AD. Problem is AD is probably coming to Lakers to play with Lebron. Might not resign if they trade Lebron away, especially with them having same agent. Imo

Think KL would be 1st option, Lebron is more pass 1st than scorer, on a good team.

Great move...This trade would show how we treat big free agents who sign with us...really great move...

This will be down fall of Ainge...like Davis's father said...he doesn't want his son to play for the team who treated IT like they did....

What did Boston do wrong exactly? IT was definitely not worth a max deal and they traded for a better player? Any team does the same thing in that situation.

No, the “great move” was signing an aging/declining star to a max contract and shipping out all the young talent and causing our coach to want out at the same time. We went from being bad to being a joke. The smart move would be to show people we’ve learned and move in the right direction. No free agents want to come play with James. He’s a cancer to a team.

Will be 35, and probably not happy about being traded. Not going to get much.

On another note, per LA times: AD trade not looking good either...smh

They probably will look first at New Orleans and Anthony Davis " again " but don’t count on it. Even if Davis might be even more intent on leaving a franchise that will soon be officially rebuilding around certain No. 1 pick Williamson, indications are that the Pelicans will never trade him to the Lakers. They’re telling people that if they absolutely must trade him, they don’t want to send him to the Western Conference and certainly not to the Lakers after all the trouble that James’ and Davis’ agent Rich Paul caused them this season.

That is their right but if AD says they are only going to sign with Lakers (which he hasn't yet) it will need to get done. Griffin is a smart basketball executive (still don't know why we didn't hire him). He will do what is best for the team. He won't take pennies on the dollar from someone else just to spite the Lakers..... I think Wink

Getting back to the draft..... IF we keep the pick and draft for ourselves, I see one of three (maybe 4) being the pick. Garland from Vandy (I am not sure why all the web sites say he could play next to LeBron an Zo.... I don't see it. Plus, I am concerned from what I am reading that it is taking so long to come back from his injury.) Hunter from Virginia (Don't know how I feel about him. Some sights are calling him the next Kawaii..... but I am a little concerned that his defense might have been a product of the system at UVA. The other would be Culver from Texas Tech (Plays a lot like Derozen. More 2s than 3s. But the kid seemed to have some swagger to his game. Seems to be getting better each year, just don''t know if he has plateaued. The last wild card is Bol Bol. (I think if he really impresses in the pre-draft workouts he will shoot up the boards.....especially with his outside shooting ability. )

Is there anyone else you think might be a legit option at 4 if we keep the pick and are picking for ourselves??

Top FA'S weren't coming to Lakers whether James was here or not. Not with this mess of a FO.

And no one has ever called him a cancer, just said it's hard to play with him because of media circus that comes with him.

Plus most of these FA's want to beat him ,not help him win another championship, just like Wade ,James and others said about Kobe when he was playing and couldn't get any to come.

Age and contract to performance, yeah he ain't worth much in a trade. He is still talented but no team is looking to trade for him. That instantly kills his worth. No team is looking to take on $37million and potentially $41million if he opts in to that 4th year at 36 years old.

The Lakers would get someone in return who is either vastly overpaid like Wall or on the downward spiral of their career. Someone like CP3.

OKC probably wouldn't even trade Westbrook for him. The only reason they would is because they can't improve much in free agency. That 4th pick helps them do that.

Exactly. Tatum has been the darling of the media even though his numbers could not even match Kuzma. Lol. I think the lakers just stole the draft day (and perhaps saved their future) with this pick. It kills me how some of the media have Tatum as this special player but like to act as if Ingram was garbage. They also treated Giannis as some whatever type player and now since he has put on some muscle, the kid is unstoppable. I'm very concerned about LA trading Ingram when he started making it look easy before the injury.

And the media will not talk about how Ingram just exploded after the All-star game and was actually the one young player that didn't let the trade rumors disrupt his game. That right there should tell you he is a special player and if the Lakers get a good enough offensive assistant ( Igor kokoskov, maybe.) to help him along as well Kidd. Ingram is going to be good.

I am intrigued by Jarrett Culver or Bol Bol. Both satisfy a need: long range shooting, shot creating with Culver and defense and a stretch 5 with potential in Bol.

Everyone is basically poo pooing this draft and I think the Lakers need to just try developing organically. LeBron is gone in 2 or 3 years, but the team still needs to develop some players.

Think a lot of it has to do with Kyrie and Hayward, all those Celtics young guys fell off this season when KI and GH came back , and some already said if team is same next year they rather be somewhere else. Tatum is a good young player, but most of it comes from great playoff run. Think BI and lakers core could get same hype if they stay healthy and make playoffs.

Bol medical worries me, think at 5 I'd go with Jaxson Hayes, but wouldn't take either at 4th. Maybe trade down with Hawks if possible, get 8th and 10th picks .

Also if they can get a low 2nd rd pick, wouldn't mind seeing them take a chance on Taco Falls. Few months back , reports were he might go undrafted, but things might be changing.

Low risk possibly high reward.

Could become serviceable 5 , definitely a rim protector.

Possibly. As they say you can't teach height and why not acquire a pick in the second round or invite him in as a rookie free-agent to see what he can bring to the table. At this point with ALL the FO mess and the luke-warm feelings of free-agency the Lakers....

If they keep the pick the guy I’d like to see them select is DeAndre Hunter. He’s the best on ball defender I saw all year.with his feet and wingspan he can switch defensively on four positions. He’s more nba ready than most prospects and can knock down the assisted three consistently so should compliment Lebrun, Ball and BI.

Also, nobody is talking one name in free agency and it’s probably because of their history, but doesn’t DeAngelo Russell make perfect sense if you are looking to add an “all star”? He’s not the same guy the Lakers shipped out a couple of seasons ago and even on a max deal he’s cheaper than a lot of the other options. He’d fit in perfectly at the biggest area of need, shooting guard. The Nets think they have a legitimate shot at KD and Kyrie so they might just let Russell walk without a whimper. Maybe LBJ can call in a couple favors end encourage those guys to flirt with Brooklyn until the last possible minute.sign DLo to an offer sheet starting at $25 mil per year and you still have room to sign a center(come back Brook) and the mle for another shooter.

I like Hunter too, but we have a few guys that play his position and if we do draft Hunter, I honestly expect the Lakers to deal Kuzma or Ingram, that's just my opinion on that. I would honestly like to see Culver or as KKennon pointed out and trade down and good 2 quality players that you can groom and if they work out you have them on rookie deals.

BUT, knowing the Lakers and their cap space hoarding they won't do that and will unload this pick for something crazy to preserve cap space. Unfortunately, the market for disgruntled all-stars is dry. Mike Conley....? Not an option.

I wouldn't mind seeing Russell back, but I feel that ship has sailed and both parties would rather stay separated. He proved he was a good player, but I just don't see him or Randle back, considering now that the Pelicans are going to draft Zion, he practically plays the same way as Randle. Randle will be looking for a new team.

Watching highlight tapes make it impossible to figure out who is best. They never miss.

But I would take a flyer on Taco and hope he learns a skyhook. As has been said many times, "You can't teach height."

Plus he could make a fortune hawking Taco Bell if he can play!

Probably could become a good backup 5, but every team needs good bench players. Would definitely take a chance on him. If he goes undrafted, would sign him and develop in Gleague.

Think another player would be B. Beal, would be perfect next to Lebron, plus gives you great defense.
