Lol, Pels losing AD, give them Zion. Who knows he might change AD's mind.

Lakers have a great trade asset in 4th pick.

I don't have any huge issues with Vogel, he may not be a sexy pick but he's solid. I'm more concerned about what the Lakers will try to do as far as personnel. Will they continue with this dream of theirs of trying to acquire a star at all costs or will they develop their kids?

I also have a fear that Phil Jackson is the shadow president of basketball operations. I've been hearing words that Vogel was the runner up in NY when Phil was conducting interviews. We all know Phil wanted a puppet to run the triangle offense in NY. I'm wondering if Phil and the Rambii will try to have some triangle elements installed in LA via Vogel.

You know they will. Vogel is not a offensive minded coach of course and Kidd is more development. Kidd doesn't believe in pacing, but his teams are league leaders in transition. Sadly, they may try. I only hope they leave well enough alone considering that we have the 4th pick and this could open the door to improve the team through the draft OR a trade.

Look at media crying foul. Lol. Somehow I’m not so excited this time around with the pick, even if it was a top pick, with all the carnage surrounding us.

Yeah, just heard Jay Bilas say after top 3 they're a lot 2nd rd talent going to go in 1st rd in this draft.

I'd package pick for AD, if they can't get him ,go after Beal.

Was thinking the same thing. This is good for us considering it would have 10- 12 that we could have picked. Now we can grab a decent player OR use the pick for a SENSIBLE trade.

I know one thing, giving up the farm for AD better not be on the table this go around, if there's another go around.

Actually, with the Pelicans getting the 1st pick IMO it keeps them from screwing teams over for AD. They can't whine and act like they are so desperate and won't have a star player, they got one with Zion ( at least till he leaves, he won't stay, he made a Steve Francis face when he seen the Pelicans get the pick....lol.)

Have no doubt in my mind giving up farm will still be on the table. This FO is still going after superstars, and probably won't get one in FA.

Man do i remember Steve Francis' faces when he was selected by the then Vancouver Grizzlies. He was not having it and he didn't.

Nah I disagree. I think that was Jeanie staying out the way and letting Magic do his thing. Don't think that will be the case going forward. We'll see.

I hope they leave the triangle alone, I really do but LA can’t seem to move from the past. If Jeannie is being advised by Phil and Rambis then who knows what the Lakers could be trying to demand from their coach.

I hope LA keeps that pick and stops with all the packaging the pick stuff. I don’t want to see LA draft another small forward even though I do believe you should get the best player available if you can’t filll a need. We have three small cowards in James, Ingram and Kuzma. We need a shooting guard, a point guard or front line player.

I’d like to see LA draft Garland who is a point guard who already looks to have NBA range. Allow him to come off the bench and backup Lonzo and he can provide shooting while doing it. If he ascends past Lonzo then that’s fine too imo.

In this draft, would rather see them trade 4th and a player, if they could get Beal. But only 4th and a player. Imo

I wouldn't be opposed to that deal if the player was Kuzma or Ball. I think trading Ingram would be a mistake. In a way, I'd rather they sign a guy as opposed to trading for one because Lebron will be aging out pretty soon. I'd rather have a wealth of young talent than trading guys to acquire talent.

Getting a vet assistant coach. Hope he works out. I wanted them to grab Avery Johnson, but not sure if he is waiting out for a HC job or not, but I was hoping that he would be available.

Haven't heard that name in a long time, i googled to see what happened to him (Alabama head coach) but he just interviewed with the sixers for assistant position.

Yeah, he and Alabama agreed to part ways. I thought Alabama was going to fire him and I think they just agreed he would leave. I would like to see him with the Lakers, I think he gives a unique outlook and his X's and O's are fair on offense. Oh well, Lionel Hollins it is. Bernie Bickerstaff is next and rounding it out...Kurt Rambis...

So lets quit kidding ourselves. Kidd is really the HC. This is just like when Jason Garrett was the highest paid assistant coach to Wade Phillips with my Dallas Cowboys. Everybody with common sense knew Wade Phillips was just a place holder. This is no different. Kidd is calling the shots.

Kidd has been a pretty bad head coach, why is our front office infatuated with him?

That is a dam good question JJ. Over the history of basketball we've seen many coaches recycled and we wonder why. Maybe Kidd is just in his recycle period and we just happen to be the dopes that are taking a chance on him.....

I can’t remember anything remotely special that Kidd did as a head coach. I remember folks talking about what a poor coach he was and everyone remembers when he dropped water on the court to get a free timeout.

I’m not seeing Kidd as an improvement over Luke’s, if anything it seems to be a down grade.

Gonna be a heck of a coaching staff. Much better than anything Luke put together. As long as the power structure is not contested. If the coaches all get into a fist fight on the sidelines it could get interesting lol. At least Kidd will be there to throw water on it hahaha...

Meh. Would have been better to get the other sharp shooter coach they were looking at.
