The Lakes will hire Lue since that is who LebRon wants and he’s running things now.

Slightly on the fence now seeing how BI performed after the all star break. Lol.

Personally, I just haven't been on the Ben Simmons bandwagon like a lot of other people. The reason is that he already had the NBA body prior to getting to the league, most kids have to develop that, Brandon was one of them. Ben has a few things to work on but I never thought he was so far ahead of Ingram, not when drafting on potential. I think people saw the next Lebron and drooled but if Ingram was 240 like Simmons, I don't believe Ingram would have been drafted second.

Once he gets stronger (which will be hard this off-season) I think it will be over for people trying to guard him. He can handle the rock, can finish with either hand, has a midrange shot and is working on his range has a 7'3" wingspan and the one thing we all know is he is an extremely hard worker, the kid loves to play. I've kept using Giannis and not KD as an example because of Giannis coming into the league at 6'9" 200-pound beanstalk. The kid is 240 now and is damn near unstoppable and that's without a jumpshot. I saw him backup Embiid a couple of times. Brandon isn't as explosive as Giannis but he has a strong set of tools to be unstoppable and when he started averaging 27 after the break, he made it look easy.

It's a big "if" so far health wise, But I think I'd take a healthy Zo over Ben, they both have trouble shooting, but Ben has been able to work on his game in the off season, Zo hasn't so far. Both can run offense, Zo just as good if not better defensively.

I'd say at least Zo will shoot it and has actually gotten better. Not on the FT line though. Ben won't attempt it at all.

There was someone on the radio (forget who it was) suggesting that we bring back Pat Riley as president and Spoelstra as the coach. Lol.

Lakers management plans to travel East to meet with Sixers assistant Monty Williams between Games 2 and 3 of playoff series with Brooklyn, league sources tell ESPN. Williams has emerged as a top candidate for Lakers coaching job. See how easy it is just to paste the damn text rather than a silly twitter link? For those of us who aren't twitter twits? Pullleeeez pple. Dave, it was always a rule here that pple who posted a link had to also post the text, not just the link. Whatever happened to that rule? I'd favor bringing it back...pls. I'm really tired of....

Lol...At think at this stage of Riley's life, he's fully embraced the MIA lifestyle. I wouldn't be surprised if Pelinka takes on Magic's role permanently and also be GM. If that happens, you heard it here 1st....lol.

I know, but it just shows up as a link, and one I can't see unless I hit quote as tho replying to the posting. In any case it still is just a link that has to be followed. And it was always the case for years that posting a link was fine, as long as the text, or the gist of it, was included. As it should be. Who wants to keep chasing links all over the place? And those who don't use twitter, can't see the links anyways. So it's doubly annoying.

I don't use Twitter but see the links just fine? It's either a setting you have activated here or in your browser. The quote and link is when you post an article and have to give credit for fair use. Twitter you are already doing that by providing the Twitter handle of the person making the quote.

Yeah so we can diss the Lakers management more easily.

The only good things I see coming from this mess are insightful posts from SPQR. Although I love to read his opinions, I would rather have Donovan Mitchell (he was gettable). Thomas Bryant (check out his stats), Julius Randle, DLo (leading his team into the playoffs) and Zubac rather than SPQR's great reads.

As with all things Lakers, this was a lopsided trade.

Tried on 3 different browsers. Haven't changed any settings. Don't know if tehre's some setting here, but haven't changed any of them either. All I see when someone posts a tweet, is nothing. Blank space.

Go-to edit profile and make sure bbcode is on and HTML is off. See if that makes a difference.

Failing that it's a setting for your ad blocker or do not track settings.

HTML was on, bbcode was also on. So I turned HTML off. Kept bbcode on. That's it. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Nope, just had a look. No links showing up. Dave? Any ideas?

On another note: the bozos who got rid of Lou Williams should face capital punishment...lmao!!!!

What a game by the Clippers, probably the best playoff game I’ve witnessed in a long, long time.

It was in the best interests of the tank, great player signed at the completely wrong time in regards to the Lakers rebuild.

Well it sure did not take Luke long to be picked up by another team. The Kings will be right in there for the playoffs next season. They also have lots of talented players. Good luck Luke, I will miss you as a Laker head coach. Too bad this organization can not get their ***t together. They have not even picked up somebody to replace Magic.

Maybe Jerry West will come back to the Lakers or his son.

I sure do not like the coaches they are interviewing. Monty might be the most experienced, but geez seems like there would be better coaches out there.

This franchise is literally being run by Linda Rambo, Rob the mythological/ biblical character and Jeannie Bust.

I will never point fingers or be judgmental towards anyone who ever decided to jump ship. How can you accept this garbage? I just don’t see light at the end of the tunnel....unless they sell this team.

This has been single-handedly one of the worst off-seasons ever and sadly the younger Buss idiocy has now been transferred over to the daughter. For all of Magic's faults that WE all have pointed out, Pelinka is just as worse and to know that Jeannie has....

We could hire Thibs for a couple years. End Lebron’s career on the downlow while developing the kids, both things he’s top tier at.

He didn't develop KAT or Wiggins in to anything while in Minnesota.

I would take Thibs over the other three mentioned. Then there is Kevin McHale who actually was not a bad coach for the Rockets.

Mark Jackson is not a bad coach, but I understand he is a religious fanatic and might be skipped.

I read that Mark was a nightmare during his tenure for the Warriors. That led him to being fired without clear reason initially since the warriors were okay, best they’d been in years. Of course they hired Kerr and the rest is history.

But there’s a lot more to Mark than just being religious that ticked fans and management off.

I really WISH they would sell the team, let someone who cares have it instead of careless folks with NO vision. If they keep Pelinka and hire Ty Lue...I am taking another LOOONNNG sabatical. This is crazy watching what some on here have predicted on some ways that it would take us YEARS to get back to some semblance of normalcy and we get this????

For all the crap Magic has been getting (most of it deserved) this team could have taken out Houston/OKC and rest of the scrubs you are witnessing in the playoffs. This is the year GSW could be taken down, since they are exhibiting significant chinks in their armor, especially on the defensive end.

I mean when we were healthy we took down all these teams from Houston to Portland to OKC...Warriors. I’m telling you if this team was healthy we would have faced gsw in the w/conf finals. And this is with the goon squad they assembled in the off season. Lol. This fact (injuries) is conveniently glossed over by everybody like it didn’t matter. Our entire starting lineup was wiped out and we had to send an SOS to the g league for bodies. Kerr mentioned recently, that the team they really feared were the lakers, after the way they were firing on all cylinders on 12/25/18 before the injuries reared it’s ugly head to decimate the team and our season. We were 4th in the brutal west conf and top 7 in the league defensively...at that point.

Talk about wretched luck/ injuries, AD trade circus and the ensuing drama with Magic bailing out and eventually Jeannie’s private “kitty party” FO. Lol. Pelinka is a dope and hated with a passion around the league by agents and execs for his unethical business practices in the past and if he continues, we are a lottery team until 2029.

Now imagine the Lakers with Lou Williams, Julius Randle, DLo, Zubac, BI, LeBron, Lonzo and maybe even Kuzma.

What a team! All there for the taking!

Too much BS in this forum about the Laker organization. If they hate the Lakers that much, maybe it is time to jump ship. Hate all this bashing of the people within the organization. Perlinka has been bashed around like a rag doll and the thing is we really do not know much about this man, only that he was well respected through out the league by other general managers, and was representing some great players. So he is no dummy as far as to selection of talent. Lets give Jennie Buss some space, she is all out to try and make this franchise better. Magic I do blame for trying to trade too many of our team for AD. That to me was not cerebral move. That is when the team took a nose dive and the effort and betrayal was all over the younger players. Blaming Luke in this forum by some was also a bone head mistake. Luke was working with some very young talent and it takes a special type of person to train young players to become good or great players. I though Luke was doing great until the injuries started coming. It happens to all teams, but the criticism from this forum by some, not all was over whelming. This is social media and word does get around to where eventually the players and management reads all this garbage put out by some.

All this recommendations for the Lakers to sell the team is crazy and they never will. This is a family owned team and the Buss family will try their best to correct any damage that was done, and we should step back and give some space for them to get the best replacements for the job. And if they bring back one of the West family to work for the Lakers that would be great. I would even welcome Phil Jackson to come to the aid of his friend Jennie. A person that has eleven championship rings must know something that works, and maybe he should be considered for a position with the Lakers.

I will, bro. We got some great guys on here and having differing opinions makes this forum great. Taking this WITH THE BIGGEST GRAIN OF SALT, but rumors are the Lakers do have a replacement for Magic, but he is part of a playoff team and does not want to interfere with the playoff run. This was spoken on the Colin Cowherd show....please, please please let that be true!!!!
