We may be able to use a Kevin McHale type to develop players until LeBron leaves. No way THAT man is going to lead a team to a championship if he keeps playing like he is 27. Unless he changes his game and plays within a system that incorporates the team, it's just not happening. I don't see it.

When we got LeBron, who knew he would age so fast? What is he gonna be like at 38 in the last year of his contract? I shudder to think about that. I hope I am wrong but the eye test shows him to be a lot slower this year.

This is a place for true Lakers fans.

I'm sick and tired of the media's Lebron worship. I've been waiting for him to care. It doesn't seem to me the he gives a f***! It doesn't appear that he cares if we win or lose. As long as he gets his rebounds and assists, he's not held accountable. It's always the players around him aren't stepping up. He can't do it by himself.

I'm sick of Lebron. I'm sick of his camp. Lebron is not coning back until he wants to we don't care what anybody thinks. I'm paraphrasing what Rich Paul said during Lebrons injury. THAT DIDNT SET WELL WITH ME!

Lebron and his side show and his hero worshiping media can get the f***, on!

We have 16 Championships!

We have the best of the best that the NBA has ever had to offer, and there jerseys are retired in the rafters.

We're used to killer instinct. Like the night we're down by like 15 and Kobe got made and decided to take over, then he got hot. The result, a win. What else 81 points.

MY POINT:

We as Lakers demand that killer instinct. That I refuse to lose mentality. Kobe gave a f^^^! All Lebron cares about is Lebron.

I've had enough of Lebron and everything that comes with him.

I can't wait until he's gone. We got an old dinosaur now.

These last two games have been a joke!

Last but not least: Show John Ireland some respect when he interviewed you.

Sad to say but the Lakers need to clean house, again. We need to stop trying to bring in former Lakers to show this world that we are supposedly a family.

Management needs to be gone and management consists of a former Lakers’ player and a former Lakers’ player agent. I’m not sure if Pelinka is as much the problem as Magic is but I love two for one specials.

Luke needs to be gone. Even though I feel he’s given a different roster every season due to one year and expiring contracts, I still see the same problem every season with different players. Unfortunately, Lebron is in town and now it’s going to be about finding a coach for him and less about finding a coach for the team.

Yeah I agree, they need to press the reset button. Unfortunately the five grueling years of tanking and the boatload of picks/talent we stock piled, have all gone down the dumpster fire. We have already hacked half the number of assets we had in pursuit of short term goals and quick fixes.

The organization is being run like a glorified mom/pop store. The systems and processes in place are archaic and reeks of obsolescence. Glaring examples being lack of a shooting coach, questionable analytics, haphazard medical/ training staff and friends & family handouts for executive level jobs. In other words Nepotism.

Even the lakers announcers and PR staff are growing long in the tooth, although that’s a trivial issue compared to the larger more pressing issues. The optics seems to suggest that the mission critical positions are not merit based or centered around basic competence. There is ambiguity in role definition top/ down and across the board and it percolates down to the field level.

I would actually have liked to see Jesse Buss get a larger role in the front office operations (along with Ryan West) since he comes across as someone who is unassuming and full of humility. We need a front office which would operate as an autonomous body, having goals which would be congruent with the coaching personnel and the players they eventually bring aboard. Enough of these “swing for the fences jockeys” who are just running the franchise to the ground and tarnishing the image of the great laker brand, through their personal agendas and overblown gravitas. Or just sell the team to Sam Kroenke.

KKENNON1 Think you're living a little bit in the pass, doesn't seem like any FA's or anyone else cares about Lakers 16 Championships. And while I think you're right about Lebron not caring right now, its just not him. Dave Mcmenamin said on ESPN that he heard a reporter ask a player about loss last night, PLAYER SAID "LOOK AROUND, DOES IT LOOK LIKE ANYONE CARES!!!! FO signed Lebron than didn't put right team around him to succeed. And as far as Kobe, he wouldn't have done sh!t with this current roster, except been asking for a trade like he did before when....

This should have all been done when Kobe left. It was the perfect opportunity to start fresh and bring new ideas to the franchise. Instead we have an old boys club running the franchise, coaching the roster and commenting on the games.

This is the bottom line:

I'm not happy with losing. We're not the best team so I don't expect to go undefeated. However, I expect to see anger after loses like the last two games. I expect our best player who is said to be the best in the world, to go to the hole more than 10 times in a game where we're losing. I don't expect our best player to shoot 10 3 pointers. I expect the 6 foot 8 inch 260 pound Lebron to take the game over. Go fight for the win.

I don't believe that this guy cares and I'm not letting him off the hook like everybody else because his stats are comparable to his career stats.

This is why I brought up Kobe in my last post. Not to talk about his scoring. One thing all Lakers fans New. Kobe lived, ate, and slept basketball. He cared about us the fans. He didn't miss games, that was a rarity. I believe Lebron's injury was legitimate but the way he and his camp dealt with us as the fans, UNEXEPTABLE!!!

He can have the best stats ever but if the team is not motivated by they're leader this years results are a vivid example of what I'm talking about.

Iim dick of all this crap and I'm not excepting any excuses, PERIOD!!!

Couldn't agree more!!! But I'll will also say these young guys need to grow the F up , trades and trade rumors are a part of sports, DEAL WITH IT.

Also at point where I almost want them to lose and go for lottery pick, and I was really hoping that feel was going to stay in the past.

I agree, the kids need to grow up. I also thought their development would be further along. They might turn out to be all stars but we need them right now. Their just not ready and that's disappointing. Big-Time

You can't compare anyone to Kobe or MJ. They were unique and never accepted anything less than 100%. Most players these days don't have that mentality or hunger and care more about their brand than winning.

It is what it is right now. LBJ was never the right player for this roster. It's going to be a lonnnnnnnggggg 4 years.

Agree , unfortunately I don't know if any "star" FA is right for this roster at its current stage of development. If Lebron wasn't on team.

Thoughts??

I’ll agree and disagree at the same time here. It’s easy for us to say that these guys are professionals and they should man up. Yet, for one, it’s not only the kids, the vets have played without energy as well. Not to mention these weren’t rumors, they actually tried to trade them all for one player. It seems like it’s been so long since we got them in but Zo and Kuz are only in their second year in the league. BI his third. They’re still kids, we didn’t put the wrong team around LeBron, we put the wrong star on our team.

And if we wanted to talk about player development from Tobe’s comment, I’ve observed that year-by-year “progress” don’t mean much, people were saying the same thing about DLo; “I don’t see a star.” “He should be further along but he doesn’t look like a second pick.” Yet here he is. I personally think our kids look fine. Considering Zo and BI are only 21, their biggest crime is their suspect fit with Lebron.

The way PG13 has been playing this season. Damn we missed out. Still think he isn't quite a superstar but darn has he went to another level.

Failing that I think I'd have took another year development and went for Durant/Leonard/Thompson this summer. Got to go all in with a player in his prime.

PG13 is ballin out, but don't know if he would have been same player on this team.

Agree about another year of development, although not sure we could get one of those guys to come to a lottery team, which is what I think they would have been again.

Yep, I agree and it wouldn't surprise me if some of these young players want out of LA. Every young player in LA is in a trade rumor. Russell's trade rumors came true, gone. Randle's rumors of not being resigned, true and he's gone. I think these other rumors will come true at some capacity and playing under that must be difficult.

Plus the added pressure of playing with Lebron and all that comes with it. Let alone being told by Magic how he's expecting them to become stars and lead team for years, than only to put them all on trade block.

Side note:

But I do disagree with people( in general) saying Lebron can't carry a team anymore. He just carried that terrible Cavs team to finals, same team that's back in top 3 of lottery. Think difference was Cavs team was built for and around Lebron, wasn't more talented than current Lakers team, just built better. Imo

THE LAKERS are playing with 21-23 year old that everyone wants them to be LAKER SUPERSTARS.The guys will develop and become Men and in the 4th -7th year range they become more dominant. The owners want to win badly 6 years is awfully long in Lakerland.

LEbron James is old it is showing .He has the skills to keep playing but as a Leader for the Lakers he's failed so far. look at the lack of defense.NO one has called him out on it.THE ATLANTA HAWKS just handled this team ....I don't want to hear about a triple double ...Has this team quit? Magic had a talk with everyone and i hope he told LBJ his butt is tradeable like everyone else was and IT's about the Lakers .first.Hopefull we can get someone to fill the Center position in the off season.Kinda glad the Pelicans didn't gut our team.Hopefully the young guys have learned that business is first and this offseason they better get that mamba mentality because the bar is high and so are expectations u too LBJ

Take out Luke and trade Lebron they are the problems, and likewise the solution. Trade LBJ now as he still has the value, next season he will have to "huff and puff" just to be at par with his present game. The Lakers should face the inevitable that Lebrons body is alreadiy fully depreciated to match the games of the upcoming talented players.

Lebron ain't going nowhere, unless Lebron wants too. NO TRADE CLAUSE!!!! Magic can't do sh!t without Lebron's permission!!! Lmao

Using the eye test, LeBron is not only a step slower (I have never seen his shot blocked so many times in previous seasons), but he also takes longer to heal. It is no surprise that his recent injury kept him from the lineup for the longest in his career. HE IS 34 YEARS OLD for crying out loud! He's gotten slower while the NBA has gotten faster. And since he is not a Kyle Korver type, and depends on driving, he might not age as well as the FO (meaning Magic) postulated.

I admit I bought into the hype that James was Superman and normal NBA aging parameters did not apply to him. I was wrong.

But unless LeBron suddenly finds the Fountain of Youth, we are, in so many words, fuucked.

Yes he's gotten old, but if you go back and look what R. Paul said after injury, "if it was the playoffs, he'd be playing ". So he was out basically because Lakers suck right now , he probably, like the Diva he is , wanted to prove a point.

Point is, he's still better than 97% of the league when he wants to be.

But was a stupid signing with this crap team at this stage of development. Imo

Lmfao, was thinking same thing. I'm a big AD fan, but if we got 1st pick, think I'd keep Zion and take my chances getting AD in 2020 or trading a couple of young guys for him this summer, along with a couple of future picks.

They traded Korver, Hood and others, Love has barely played with injuries and JR Smith, well yeah they don't miss him but the team went with developing Sexton so they aren't exactly trying for wins. Team obviously misses LBJ but just like Miami LeBron dipped because he knew the roster was done making finals.

They started out season sucking before trades, so trading those players was meaningless, except to get more picks.
