That's why I was asking how different it would be if Jerry West was working with the Lakers still

I felt this is a good trade. Svi is a step slower on defense and had a slow feet & has low instincts. Reggie the way i heard is a 3&D guy. Shooters significantly will help this team if they intend for playoff push. We had games where we could just have won if we have shot better.

ho hum, he will be gone after this season. Lakers management only acquires guys if they’re an expiring contract.

1) I agree, a lot of allstars in today's era do want to pair up with another allstar or at least some guys that are showing to be a future allstar. Kobe was indeed the last allstar but also I don't believe too many guys wanted to be paired up with Kobe and I feel the same about Lebron (specifically other wing players). It's because they are so ball dominant and it makes it tough on other allstars unless they're just taking turns going one on one. 2) A bottom tier allstar is not a bad thing but LA won't even look at them. LA's goal has been the biggest names or bust and it's usually been bust. Boston signed Al Horford some years ago which helped that team start to turn things around. LA doesn't look at guys like that, it has to be guys like Melo (before the steep decline), Lebron, KD. Westbrook, George, Kawhi, etc. Sometimes it takes a smaller fish to land the big fish. 3) I felt the Russell trade was a bad one (sacrificing a youngster to sign a vet example) , then I think he would most likely be a spot up shooter with Lebron in town. Brooklyn really moves the ball which I feel benefits Russell. People say we got Kuzma because of it but I'm sure we could have picked up Kuzma at 28(Lou Williams' trade) instead of 27 because Kuzma was very under the radar. I get them wanting to get away from that bad Mozgof contract but I felt the Lakers should have focused on developing the kids and not trying to make a quick trip back to the playoffs. The Lakers signed Lebron but that didn't take....
