First off, Zu was great but I’ve been saying he’s a crappy starter, and that’s rung true multiple times. Second, it might be a bad trade at first glance but Muscala helps right away. He’s one of those guys that middling teams likes, good motor, skilled, he’ll fit seamlessly next to lebron. I’m fine with the trade. Just fine. Hope the best for Zu

I'm watching the trade deadline show on the jump. They were saying that the league doesn’t view our core to have any players who have potential star quality. Lol.

Hearing same thing here, teams think they can be good players ,but don't see stars in the making.

If I'm going by what I've seen so far, can't argue against it.

Very true, none of them have been consistent even for a half season, that could for sure change. But to me the best I thought any of them could be is an all-star, but even then I don't think that will happen. Kuz can't just play great when LeBron is playing, that's ridiculous. Ingram and Lonzo can't play more then 3 games in a row of good basketball, without taking a night off. Josh Hart has already faded away.

Good news no AD this year, Agent has confirmed he isn't being traded. So it's time for our guys to stop throwing a pity party and step up and play.

Lol they’ll still be on the block, just not until July. Front office did a terrible job handling this, don’t offer everything when NO makes it clear they aren’t interested in making a deal. Shows desperation, as well as Magic and Pelinka’s inexperience. You weren’t going to box NO in when that deal will still be there in July.

All hallmarks of young players wouldn't you say?

What were Steph Curry, Harden, Greek freak putting up year 3 or year 2? I can tell you right now they were far from consistent. Do I see any of them being a superstar, no I really don't but I'm not going to say they can't get a hell of a lot better either. It's too EARLY to say what they are going to be.

Don’t get into a bidding was with Boston for AD. Let them bid with themselves like the foolish lakers just did. Look for other options now in July.

You are correct, I just view things different then most on the forum probably. I want a sure thing over hoping for a sure thing 4 years later is all. A lot can happen in 4 years in the NBA now days. If there is a sure thing out there I can get my hands on then I am for it. How many teams have the same core of 5 players 4 years in a row? Not many that is very very rare. GSW and Spurs.

I don't mind us keeping our guys, I haven't complained once about not making the trade for AD. I am for sure for it, but I am not against keeping what we have. I think LBJ, another star and the kids can be very good. But we don't know if we are getting another all-star (seems like it may not happoen), so I like the sure thing of AD and LeBron. Top stars are harder to get then thew player you put around them. That is just my opinion.

I am more win now, then win in 4 year and hope that core stay together and keeps us a contender for another 5 years after that.

I think Melo will be a Laker. He always wanted to come to LA. Even though age is catching up with Melo and has never been a good defender, he can still help the Lakers with his shooting.

Do not know much about the trade for Muscola. But again I think Zubac was better then Chandler. The two centers we have were real good in their younger days, but mother nature catches up on athletes where once they reach thirty, they are on their way down. The legs on Chandler are just not there anymore. Zubac was still very young and needed playing time. OH WELL!

I get your point, no body knows can happen in 6 months I just think people are giving up on the young guys too early. I'm one of Ingram's biggest critics but I'm still willing to see what he can do next year. If he can add a 3 point shot this summer he can quite easily be doing what D'Angelo has been doing this year.

What a lot of these experts have not taken into consideration are injuries which have hit the Lakers. The Lakers when they were all healthy were winning many games and reporters were starting to talk about how dangerous this young team was and that they were going to challenge teams in the west. Then several injuries hit: Ingram, Rondo, Kuzma, Hart, Ball and the leader LeBron. What did any who understands basketball expect?

I am glad the trading deadline is over and hope the Lakers can regroup starting tonight against the hated Celtics. Hope Lavar can keep his mouth shut if not he is going to get his son shipped out of the Lakers. And lets hope that the injured Lakers try to get back into playing condition sooner then what they have been taking. I remember Kobe with broken fingers would just tape two fingers together and keep on playing. Know they get a mild ankle sprain and they take a whole month before they get back.

Don’t worry Boston is going to give them Aaron Baynes, Daniel Theiss, Marcus Morris and 2 second round picks for AD. Lol. Danny Ainge is going to cook the Pelican for thanksgiving. Lmao!!

I bet spurs, celdicks, pelicans and others are laughing at lakers for how easy they messed them up. I don't see any current players to resign with the lakers after their name has been tossed in trades.

You really think these guys are going to hold on to these trade rumors for the next 4-5 years? lol. In today's NBA because of the CBA teams usually have the rights to any good players for their first 7 years. It could be a long time before we really have to fight to resign these guys.

Luke gone...lol. But you cannot argue with some of the stuff he says.

This guy is going to end up forcing Zo out of lakerland and into Phoenix. That’s his only goal right now.

I do feel like the easiest way to smooth this all over is to get a new Head coach though. I have always liked Luke, not a fan to some of the games we lost this year when LeBron was out. Luke has been slowly losing players all year, I wouldn't be shocked if we got a new head coach after all-star break. Just to have a fresh start and maybe get everyone back on the same page.

My vote is for Mark Jackson if we did get a new coach. Smile

Luke is not going any where soon. Jennie Buss really like Luke and I think he is not a bad coach considering he is working with a bunch of young players trying to make them NBA caliber. I would not have Jackson as a coach. If anybody I would rather have Tribodeau. He is a good defensive minded coach.

Mark Jackson paints a pretty picture, but he is not as good as some make him to be.

A typical NBA league front office during trade deadline:

Lakers front office during trade deadline:

“We will give you Kuzma, BI, Lonzo, Hart, Zubac, Lance, 4 1st round picks, 4 2nd round picks....and early bird rights to Stu Lantz.”

Magic sees his players with an NBA 2k-style trade value Above their heads. Ingram and Zo 3 and a half stars. Kuz 3 stars. Rondo 2 stars. Lebron 5 stars untouchable.

I’m not sure if the Lakes have improved the front office with Magic and Rob. These guys keep promising a block buster deal but they don’t seem to come close and they will settle for an old dude like Melo with all his baggage. I guess sooner or later they may pull something off, even Jim and Mitch was able to pull off the block buster deal for Pau. I thought Magic and Rob were going to make something happen faster since they talked about the amazing things they were going to do. I can’t figure out why they want Melo since he seems to distroy team chemistry.

I bet when Pelicans were busy turning down our trade they thought the whole time, we will bench AD and Tank and get a good pick this year also. So much for that, that’s what they get, being forced by league to play him or risk 100k per game fine. So now there pick is going to be like 13th instead of top 5. I hope AD plays lights out just to screw their pick up.

Then i also hope, Irving leaves Celtics this sunme , and Celtics give up Tatum for AD and he leaves the following year. Which is realistic chance of happening.

I hope we continue to play like the Celtics game and roll int the playoffs on a winning streak with Zo leading the way.

If that happens, we can go deep into the playoffs. I am not predicting just hoping.

LMAO Magic Johnson did exactly what I said before. Here it is:

Quote:
"I love our team. I love the guys," Johnson said. "It's a tough part of our business whether you're mentioned in trade talk, or you get traded. It's a tough part of professional sports, but they came together and played great against Boston. My job is to make sure we stay together as a team and stay focused on the goal, which is to make the playoffs."
