Don’t want to sound enthused about someone’s misfortune, but this is a great opportunity for Ball to finally show his mettle and settle the Pg dispute once and for all. Hopefully he gets more pt in the 4th quarters. Wish it hadn’t come this way though. Rondo is critical for the second unit.

Edit: This might be Bonga’s opportunity to showcase his wares as well.

Not happy about this obviously. Although he didn't have a great game, he is an excellent point guard and serves this team well. We are definitely going to struggle in the point position now. We can't expect Lonzo to play more than 30mins. I guess we will see how our FO handle's this one.

I notice that the lakers use Ingram a lot as a point forward. So it would not surprise me now that Rondo is out for several weeks that they will use Ingram and Hart to bring the ball up.

They also could bring Caruso back. He really is not a bad point guard.

I don't mind Rondo being out for 4 weeks. Lonzo now has a legit chance to show what he can do, without worrying about making a mistake and getting pulled. I also believe this will open up even more minutes for Hart. Lonzo really just needs to show heart out there, he needs to be emotional, drive to the bucket. That's how your team feeds off you, is the way they see you play. Outside of Lonzo throwing half court passes, his game is very boring this year.

The ultimate goal here is to win games, not to develop Lonzo. Because if we don't win games, will another all star even want to join us next year? Whoever it may be that joins us, needs that feeling like they are the final piece and with them we have a shot to win it all.

When you look at the available "stars" this summer who are they really going to bring in? In no particular order the stars are Irving, Leonard, Durant, Thompson and Butler.

I don't see any of them leaving their current teams, perhaps Leonard is the wildcard so I'd disagree about developing players. If they don't land anyone in the summer which could be very likely, then what? Develop them next year?

Reading some of the posts out here it appears that the ultimate goal is attracting another star. Lol. We have such a short/selective memory, that we conveniently forget that the first couple of wins that James registered in a lakers uniform, was with Ball when Rondo got suspended.

I have also noticed that some just show up out here to bash/troll Ball. I think they hold deep grudges against Zo probably because a) Lavar dunked on him while he was buying groceries or b) Lavar stole his 1964 edition play boy. Lmfao!!!!

I get what your saying and overall we are doing what we can to develop our young players. Not every young player we have can play 35 mins a a game. Our main 4 young players that we should be focus on developing are playing decent minutes. And 3 of them start for us. Kuzma / Ingram are playing 30 minutes Hart / Lonozo are playing 26 minutes. The only thing I suggest we do different is let Lonzo finish games, which is why I said I'm glad Rondo got hurt. What else do you expect Luke to do to develop our 4 main young guys? Here is my list of realistic players (who really though LeBron was every going to come here?) Rumors are exactly that Rumors. If the Lakers show they are only 1 piece away from contedning by the end of this year, I would bet any amount of money that players in the list below will sit down and listen to what LeBron has to say. This is just my opinion.
Kevin Durrant - maybe he's bitter enough at Green to join LeBron and take out GSW? I wouldn't doubt it.
Butler - Sure he kind of agreed to resign with Philly, but him, Embiid and Simmons may work out terrible.
Kwahi - Always been rumored that he will or won't join Lakers depending on who you ask.
Kemba Walker - I think he is a very good player that we could get.
Klay - GSW dysfunction could continue and maybe it's not as fun playing there anymore. I think if he did leave it would be for Lakers
Cousins - Sure we told him no before, but every team did. Cousins won't hold a grudge against every team that didn't sign him last summer or he won't be playing anywhere. GSW....

Sounds like Rondo will need surgery and would be out an estimated 3 to 5 weeks:

Hopefully we see more of BI in the facilitator role with the second unit. Pray we didn’t not see Luke turn to Lance in that role.
