I’m hoping to keep the line up as is for right now. I guess then we will really see how good of a teammate Rondo is Smile

Kuz has more flow with Lebron to start I think.

KCP has been bugging me with his Jack it up mentality. Every Time he touches the ball he feels the need to shoot. He would be so much more effective if he drove and kicked every now and then.

Here is the tricky part now for Luke, what should he do with Rondo and BI. Luke has been a big advocate for giving mins to who's playing the best, letting players earn their spot. If it wasn't for LeBron botched FT against the Spurs, the Lakers would be 3-0 with Rondo and BI out.

Technically Luke should move BI and Rondo to the bench and keep this train rolling. I think Luke with keep Lonzo and bring BI back into starters for Kuzma. Maybe this does or maybe this doesn't create an issue. But if Luke does do that, it could be a slap in Kuzma's face, he has clearly played better with LeBron over the last 3 games (25ppg). So how does Luke say hey Lonzo you are playing great you are staying in the starting lineup, but hey Kuz sorry but we are moving you back to the bench.

I am pretty sure Rondo and all Vets on this team understand our youth is priority, so Rondo will be fine with going to the bench. There is no way when he signed with us, that wasn't in the back of his head already.

The key will be whoever he starts BI or Kuz, that those 2 guys get about the same minutes and whoever is playing best at the end of a game can finish it out. Luke can't go straight against what he preaches every preseason and remove Kuz to insert BI. When BI wasn't even playing all that great to begin with and Kuz is putting up 25 a game starting. That's how you lose respect real fast.

I'd really like to see Luke go that route. Who cares if you start or not. Ingram can still get 30mins a game off the bench

And why is Javale out of the game. Small ball doesn’t work against a star center. Not even for Golden state

While that may be true for most small ball centers, LeBron and Green are different then all the rest. They actually can take on a true center and hold their own. I'm not saying LeBron could for an entire game, but Luke gave LeBron some rest before he sent him in there against Jokic the last 4 minutes and it worked, he didn't score at all to finish the game.

If Luke really is the coach he would have BI and Rondo off the bench. Lonzo needs to start the rest of the year now!

Yea and I think everyone on the team is on the page with wanting to win regardless of starting or not. But that only works if Luke holds true to what he preaches. If he inserts BI for Kuz and Kuz loses significant mins, then you lose a little bit in what your coach preaches.

It's not even close, Kuz has been an all-star(ish) with LeBron and Ingram has been okay/good. But after 5 games it not even close. I am okay with BI starting over Kuz, but they should both still get 30 mins a game and whoever is rolling can finish.

Ingram and Lonzo remind of each other, neither really get hyped or anything. Maybe that fight will bring out some more dog in Ingram. We need them guys to get hyped, so that it spreads to our entire team and everyone gets hyped and starts rolling.

I Remember when Kobe would have a triple double everybody would go crazy and Lebron gets one and it’s like meh. Lmao. Triple double way to easy 😂

Triple doubles these days are plenty because of Westbrook, Jokic, Bron, etc. I think today it means less to get one than it did 10 years ago because so many people get em nowadays, and players have just evolved into playing with more well rounded skill sets.

Kobe was never that kind of player anyhow, which is why it was so crazy when he did get one lol

You made me go check.

2008 there was 40 triple doubles. 16 different players.

2009 30 td, 14 different players.

2010 23 td, 18 players.

Fast forward to 2016. 75 triple doubles, 24 different players

2017 117 td, 23 different players

2018 108 td, 31 different players.

Triple doubles have definitely gone through the roof but the number of players getting them hasn't gone up at the same rate. The pace of today's game definitely helps the top players get them more often.

I got to agree with Ray, Zo has been shooting pretty good lately. I still get nervous when he takes those three point shots, but they are going in, nothing but net. Sure sometimes he will shoot an air ball, but that can happen to any player. Zo also has some quick hands and steals the ball from several players. The man is playing good.

As to Kuzma vs Ingram it sure is nice to have the luxury of such two talented players. They are both going to be great players in the NBA and for the Lakers. But lets not forget the other rookie in Josh Hart. This guy looks like he has been playing in the nba for years.

It sure would have been great to have kept Randle as a back up for LeBron or even to back up McGee. Beasley who is a power forward also has not shown me anything yet. But then again the lakers got him for penny's vs what Randle would have cost the lakers.

I still believe Ingram is better than Kuzma but Kuzma just fits better with lebron that’s all. I would keep the starting lineup and let rondo and BI lead the second unit. We would have one of the top benches in the league. Josh hart man I love him so much by far my favorite laker this year that dude does everything nobody sees or notices. Hart is a damn gamer

I think Luke will probably keep Rondo with the starting five. He is a very good point guard and he will surprise you every once in a while with a three point shot. Luke might want Ball to learn more from watch Rondo before he becomes the Lakers starter, not saying he is not doing a good job, but that is why they got Rondo to be a leader to this young group.

I got to admit Zo has played good in the last two games, but that does not mean he is better or more experienced then Rondo. And if any player does not like coming off the bench, THEN he is not much of a team player.

He's better than him already, just not as experienced.

So Rondo shouldn't mind coming off bench either , if HE'S A TEAM PLAYER. Lol

Rondo should be off the bench PERIOD , he has no business in the starting lineup. LeGM will ship Luke a** out in town if he didn't do that.Lol
