Good article from ESPN and leaves me more hopeful for a LeBroncentric team. It’s all about the fast break and the Lakers now have it in spades. Love LeBron or hate him, one can’t deny the intrigue of this team’s potential to play some great fast break basketball... maybe the best we’ve seen in L.A. since 80’s Showtime.

It could possibly work. I could see them running and having a shooter on the floor like a Byron Scott, in this case Kuz.....I'm not going to say yea or nay at this point.

Agreed. Too early to tell, and I'm not convinced that Magic's done making moves. We'll have a more clear picture of this team as free agency expires and the season draws nearer

I thought so as well. The potential for excellent defensive prowess is also what excites me when thinking about this current roster. Defense is what really creates fast break opportunities, so if Walton is smart, he'll focus on establishing defense as a top priority for this team. Adding James, McGee, Rondo, and Stephenson will hopefully propel this team into the top of the defensive rankings. Impossible to challenge for a title unless they defend.

In addition to the defensive pieces they added, I’m hoping they would somehow also eke out KAwhi via a sensible trade and subsequently add Klay(next year) when it’s all said and done. They are arguably the best two way players in the game. Getting Klay next year could also potentially create some chinks in the GSW armor. Rondo move makes most sense, since it appears that Ball would be questionable with that knee situation. Rondo is stellar in the playoffs, almost a player/coach on the floor.

Let’s face it LBJ in recent times, has been checking out on the defensive end in order to conserve energy for the offensive end. These moves can make it easier to hide him or rather cover up for those defensive lapses. I’m sure these acquisitions were made in conjunction with James, or he was on board with these moves.

G-State does not like physical play - Curry gets out of wack when you body him up - same with Klay

Rondo and Lance make their fouls count , they don’t take soft fouls - their opponent feels it.

That feistiness and tenacity rubs off on your teammates. I expect the young guys to play that same way moving forward.

Both were great signings

Before GSW broke through, people should watch the year in the playoffs Tony Allen put that glove on Curry. I can't remember the year but it was like the 1st or 2nd game of the series I believe when they were playing Memphis. Curry was on the bench with a towel on his head.

As my first post to this account, (previously will_lakers22), I would like to Say HI to all. To start, the moves and signings by the FO are commendable. Seeing that we cannot meet the GSW toe-to-toe, the FO went to a different path. A direction that seems so obvious but no one else seems to give any attention. What am I talking about? Let me break it down to you like this: Draymond Green - 15 Technical fouls (2nd in NBA) Kevin Durant - 14 Techincal (3rd in NBA) As a team, GSW ranks 3rd in NBA for most technical fouls. And #1 in ejectments with 10. Bringing in some tough minded and feisty defender would bring in a whole new and different dynamics to the game. Our main arsenal is not our 3 point prowess or Fast pace systme but our ability to get into the nerves of every single one of the dubs. By observation, the champs up north feels entitled in every possession to the point that they spend much of their time and effort arguing with refs regarding missed calls. That is their weakness. And that is where we strike. The signings may not be as ridiculous if we are to look at it this way. They did not commit in signing 3 point specialist to help Lebron. They brought in playmakers, tough and nose defenders not to help LBJ but to COVER him. And as they cover him in the defensive side, the King will then have all his strength, energy and might to do his best on the offensive end accompanied by the most dynamic and versatile young core and savvy veterans. Outside LBJ, the young core and our bench can withstand the bench of the GSW. As we approach mid-july, it is possible that Magic and Pelinka are still not done but so far....
